  1. Like replacing Hendricks with Daniel Norris is going to stop the Brewers home run surge!
  2. Boy I really really really really really hope that that is the start of something for Yelich. Beautiful, majestic drive.
  3. How can MLB umpires be so consistently bad at their jobs?
  4. Wonder who we will see out of the bullpen tonight. Hader available in the ninth should it turn into a save situation, but Williams and Boxberger almost certainly out.
  5. Yes. But not quite as frustrating as the amount of people who have to get up out of their seats constantly during the course of a game.
  6. Houser with a little extra oomph on his fastball tonight.
  7. Well, we could still have JBJ instead, who I would argue stinks 10x more.....
  8. I really hope that, as the season goes on, McCutchen starts to see less time against right-handers.
  9. Cubs fans are the absolute worst at judging flyballs. They think that everything out of the infield is long gone.
  10. Definitely worth monitoring whether the Red Sox can eventually "right the ship" in that division. I would trade just about any of our prospects for a shot at Devers and Bogaerts. Even a guy like J.D. Martinez would be well-worth kicking the tires on in my opinion.
  11. Yeah, even with Hader, I might want to hold onto him until he hits free agency just to the sheer dominance and certainty he provides at the end of games. But, as a small market, there is just no way we can justifying committing any resources to him beyond that. It's sad though, because he's another guy that's playing at a Hall of Fame level and how many Hall of Famers have we really been able to call our "own" throughout our history? Yount? Molitor? That's about it....I can't yet imagine having to watch him pitch for the Yankees.
  12. Wasn't really a systematic argument as much as it was a rhetorical point. A lot of teams, including the Red Sox, are having major offensive issues right now. We are 13-7 despite ours. Does that mean that our offense as presently constituted is "good enough" and that we shouldn't pursue upgrades? Of course not, and I'm fully expecting that they will the further the season goes on. But it really gets quite tiring having to constantly hear on here (from the same few people, mind you) how "bad" our offense is despite the fact that 1) we're winning 2) we're significantly underperforming our expected stats 3) we've been without one of our best hitters the entire time and 4) Stearns' proven history of in-season trade upgrades.
  13. Gotcha. Definitely not during the season (as I already stated), but certainly something worth exploring in the offseason if we fall short in the playoffs again due to offensive ineptitude. In that case, I would probably be willing to part with anybody on this team except for Burnes. That guy is a Hall of Fame talent right now, eerily resemblant of a prime Roy Halladay, so he's the one guy I would pull out all of the stops to get extended as soon as possible and even if that should fail, would be very hesitant to part with until he hits free agency. Hader is obviously of similar caliber, however, he's a reliever and I would simply not want to pay him what he's going to get in free agency, which is easily the richest deal ever for a relief pitcher ($150 million at least).
  14. Devers has less remaining years of team control than Woodruff, so no. I would probably trade a Lauer or Small for him, but Woodruff ain't happening.
  15. Absolutely not. The primary reason why this team has as good of a shot to get to (and win) a World Series as any in recent Brewers history is that 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation with him and Burnes. How long have we waited for that as a franchise? And not only that, but you want to potentially trade him IN-SEASON. Please tell me the last time a top contender traded away an ace in the middle of a pennant race....You can get back to me after the season, but this ain't happening now.
  16. If Counsell won't let Hader pitch more than one inning, then maybe he'll at least let him bat leadoff tonight seeing as he's a noted Hendricks-killer.
  17. Time to call up Turang! Or trade him for a bat.
  18. If people thought we were the only ones with offensive problems early on, the Red Sox are currently being shut out by the Blue Jays, with.....(checks box score).....JACKIE BRADLEY JR hitting in the heart of their order. Meanwhile, Travis Shaw is also in the lineup as their DH and remains HITLESS on the SEASON. Granted, they also have Devers and Bogaerts but I still can't really say I'd wanna switch places with them at the moment.
  19. We are not even close to firing on all cylinders and yet we are 13-7, on a 100 win pace, and 1 game off the best record in baseball.....It's only April, but hot diggity dog.
  20. Take a look at his baseball savant page. I'm willing to give him more time.
  21. Ughhh. I know we've won the series, but just get us out of Pittsburgh at this point.
