  1. Relative to revenue the Cubs are definitely cheaper than the Brewers. Top 5 revenue team in the sport and they rarely if ever are in the top 5 payrolls.
  2. Well it appears that was always a lie as Verducci claims the Cubs job was a dream job for Counsell if he ever left the Brewers. He clearly isn't cut from the same cloth as us if that was the case.
  3. Brewers need slugging from their 1B/DH far more than they need OBP.
  4. Nah because Brett was pushed out by the Packers.
  5. Counsell leaving for the money really did a good job getting Mendoza more money....wait no it didn't!
  6. If their salaries go up. There's no guarantee this is some trend that will lift all managers pay.
  7. I really do not get the love for Seitzer. Dude has strictly been a hitting coach his entire coaching career. Being a hitting coach is so far away from being the manager in terms of what your job entails. If you want Brewers to model their hitting development after the Braves you are better off poaching someone from their hitting development group to come run the Brewers hitting development rather than making Seitzer our manager where he won't be dealing with hitting coach duties.
  8. You very clearly did not read this thread. Plenty of comments of people saying this had to do with Counsell not liking how Mark/Arnold run things.
  9. And they also did it to Rick Renteria when they hired Maddon
  10. I don't know why anyone is trying to make this more than what it is. Just baseless projection from people who don't like our owner or front office implying this had anything to do with how they run the Brewers. It was made abundantly clear Counsell was out for one thing and one thing only, to reset the manager's market. He was always going wherever the most money was. That ended up being the Cubs not the Mets like most thought it would be. Even the Mets weren't willing to match the Cubs offer.
  11. I think it's funny because I'm sure managers are happy that their pay could/will increase but also I feel like the managers are a brotherhood/fraternity as well and Counsell going behind Ross's back to steal his job is something I'm sure will rub a ton of them the wrong way. Total snake behavior from Counsell. He might just be one of the least popular managers in the MLB because of this but he got his money so I'm sure he doesn't care.
  12. **** CRAIG COUNSELL
  13. Why do fans continually try to give Counsell credit for stuff like Chase Anderson's success. Counsell isn't a pitching coach and doesn't handle pitcher development. His pitcher usage is not some incredibly advanced usage. Starters rarely see third time through the order and the best relievers aren't used when losing. That's something a vast majority of MLB teams do.
  14. “Could be unlikely” reads entirely like speculation.
  15. Diamondbacks remembered they beat the Brewers which means they are headed to the World Series.
  16. The only defensive metric that thought Turang was elite was DRS. None of the other ones considered him a gold glove level 2B. Now Adames on the other hand is a ridiculous snub.
  17. Adames not being a finalist is a pretty glaring error in my opinion. The only defensive metric he wasn’t top 3 in was DRS and he was 4th in that metric.
  18. Zach Plesac just elected free agency. Could be another option in this type mold.
  19. Yes and I'm saying I have no idea how he got more votes when he was decidedly a worse pitcher than Burnes this year. I appreciate the condescending lol though. Real professional from a "writer"
  20. I don’t see any realistic argument for Peralta over Burnes. Burnes had 28 more IP and a 127 ERA+ to Peralta’s 112. A better RA9 by 0.6. Peripherals were pretty similar. So what is the argument for Peralta at #1?
  21. Mookie and Freddie in the NLDS: 1-21 with 3 BB Acuna and Olson in the NLDS: 6-30 2B, 3 BB, HBP The likely top 4 NL MVP finishers with a postseason to forget.
  22. This has to be sarcasm.
  23. I went to 2 games in the 2018 playoffs. One against the Rockies and one against the Dodgers (Woodruff HR game) and I totally agree. Not comparable atmosphere to Citizens Bank Park. Those fans are insanely loud. WI stadium atmosphere's kind of just lack across the board for some reason. Don't understand why.
  24. Hopefully Brock Wilken can be that guy for us. Also Riley has literally been the only good Braves hitter this series. Crazy how bad their offense has been so far.
  25. Super detailed thread from Trevor May talking about how he would approach pitching to Bryce Harper. Highly recommend reading it.
