  1. So Padres have won 7 in a row and have a pretty easy schedule to finish the season (vs Cards, @ Giants, @ White Sox). If Cubs hold on to lose the Padres would only be 4 games back of the WC3 spot. Could they potentially make this late season run?
  2. Very likely just a day off. He had last Thursday off as well.
  3. AAA has ABS for ball/strikes so no squeezing. He just wasn’t throwing strikes.
  4. Ashby with another rough rehab assignment. He got 2 outs on 26 pitches with 4 BB. Only 6 pitches were in the strike zone. Boushley gave up a grand slam after Ashby was pulled so Nashville is down 5-0 in the 1st. Ashby’s final line: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 0 SO. It’s been a very rough rehab assignment for him. 6 IP, 6 H, 12 R, 11 ER, 11 BB, 6 SO, 1 HBP. Honestly at this point I don’t think we should have any expectations for him in 2024. He has a long road ahead of him still to get back to being an MLB caliber pitcher.
  5. Correct. Magic number is 2 over the Marlins so a win over them would guarantee us to finish no worse than 6th in the NL.
  6. NOOOO...hopefully Sibrian will come back as a coach of some form.
  7. Looks like the Sounds get to face Alcantara tonight. Can't wait to see how Chourio fares against him.
  8. Wiemer seems like he's already totally chilled out his bat dip in just his second game in AAA. Just night and day difference.
  9. You have to copy the link at the top of the browser. It only auto embeds if the link comes from twitter.com not x.com.
  10. We got Bukauskas for cash I believe that or we just got him on waivers. He did come from Seattle though so you have that right.
  11. Was coming here to say the same thing. That sinker was looking like a mid 90's changeup it was moving so much.
  12. 15 day minimum IL stint for pitchers, so earliest he could be activated is October 2nd.
  13. Minimum IL stint would have Elvis eligible to pitch in the wild card round. Have to hope this is just precautionary and he will be good to go for the playoffs.
  14. 100%. You could get rid of 25-50% of the parking and still have plenty of parking left for tailgate culture to remain
  15. Mitchell hit a 107 EV liner for an out at least according to baseball savant that is what happened.
  16. I guess Myers could potentially be a RP for Nashville which is why he was immediately activated while Rodriguez might not be activated until he’s set to start a game.
  17. Shuckers Twitter account is only reporting Chourio, Meeker, and Myers as being promoted to AAA. Did Carlos Rodriguez not get promoted? https://x.com/biloxishuckers/status/1704247388582346785?s=46&t=WxiRs1N9LlZMKe6c0VtAlQ
  18. I don't think Hader would have ever made a great starter and I think the Strider comp is ridiculous. Strider has better physical build, holds FB velo better, has better command, and his slider is actually good. Hader's slider was effective because everyone was just so locked into his FB not because his slider was actually good. Even today his slider still isn't a very good pitch because he can't consistently locate it. Just look at the difference between Strider's slider heat map this year (on left) and Hader's slider heat map this year (on right)
  19. Bummer. Such intriguing stuff but could never put the command together. He had a 72.7% GB-rate this year with a 22.7% K-rate. That's a combo for a really good middle reliever but a 17% BB-rate and 5.3% HBP rate is just out of control. Can't be putting 22% of your batters faced on base for free.
  20. That happened against the Giants. The 18-1 game is the game where Varland gave up 9 runs in 0.2 innings when it was already 8-1
  21. 20-24 isn't the Cardinals owning the Brewers either. But I get it, doom and gloom is required in the game threads even when facing a bad team.
  22. Do you seriously think the Brewers would give Black, a rookie with at most roughly 10 of games MLB experience at that point, a big role in the playoffs? The likelihood the Brewers burn a 40 man spot so Black can sit on the bench in the playoffs is very, very slim.
  23. Since 2017 when the Brewers came out of their rebuild, they are 56-55 vs the Cardinals. They have totally owned us recently!
  24. Seems pretty unlikely they will burn a 40-man spot for this offseason that doesn't need to be burned for 10 MLB games.
  25. Our magic number over the Reds is 5 because we own the tiebreaker. If Brewers finish 4-9, Reds would need to finish 11-0. Point being the Reds are not a concern.
