  1. Yeah he was bad in the first 2 innings. I’m guessing Willy getting smashed in the face with a baseball probably didn’t have him mentally in a right spot in the 3rd inning but even before that 3rd inning it was trending towards a bad night for Freddy.
  2. I messaged @Smichaelis9 the pitch before the walkoff, how about a Chourio walk off here...and bang!
  3. JACKSON CHOURIO WALK OFF BOMB!!!
  4. I thought for sure that was an easy run and then he released the ball and my jaw literally dropped.
  5. Lamar Sparks has an absolute cannon my goodness...
  6. Well that's just silly. Clear error by Miller and Freddy had a guy in a run down but threw it away. I guess they can't assume the out on the Freddy play so that's why some of the runs were earned?
  7. All of those runs in the 3rd were unearned so no harm to the ERA tonight.
  8. Henderson with some of that Robert Gasser batted ball luck from last night there.
  9. Logan Henderson definitely is an aesthetically pleasing pitcher to watch. I feel like he could fly through the system if the injuries are behind him. He has the stuff and command that can dominate the lower levels.
  10. Excited to watch Logan Henderson today. He was brilliant in his last start and I hope he's finally put the injuries behind him.
  11. Yeah I’ve been pleased with Arnold’s timely moves. He traded for Guerra but DFA’d him. Varland Rule 5 pick, DFA’d. I’m hoping the trend continues with Jesse Winker soon. I think being willing to admit when you made a mistake as a GM is a great characteristic to have.
  12. I didn't complain about that here but I did elsewhere. It pissed me off. Ruf nearly hits a HR in his first AB and then CC pinch hits the walking corpse that is Jesse Winker for him? Winker predictably did absolutely nothing in his 3 AB. He honestly looks more washed than LoCain did last year by my eye. Cain couldn't hit anymore but still was a great defensive OF until his last inning. Winker can't hit, can't run, can't field. His only asset is the ability to draw a walk...which will probably fade when pitchers realize he can't hit the ball and just start attacking him. At this point, I think I would rather see Big Jon Singleton called up from AAA to run a DH platoon with Ruf than to see Jesse Winker take another AB.
  13. Here is a chart I made to show how unlucky Gasser's batted ball luck was. These BA numbers were taken from 2023 chart on savant for hit numbers on EV/LA combos. Gasser had 5 hits (2 of which were doubles) on balls that have a BA below .200 in the MLB this year. His over BA against was .417 compared to an estimated BA of .246. Just severely unlucky for him today.
  14. Gasser didn't pitch well, but he had some of the worst batted ball luck I have ever seen. 44 EV, - 48 LA , single 60 EV, -60 LA , single 69 EV, 24 LA, single 74 EV, 6 LA, double 76 EV, 1 LA, double 78 EV, 2 LA, single Those account for 6 of the 10 hits he gave up today.
  15. I really hope I don't need to watch many more Jesse Winker AB's for this team. He's currently a worse viewing experience for me than 2022 Lorenzo Cain.
  16. Misiorowski has these Down East hitters absolutely frozen on these sliders.
  17. Glad to have you back @Joseph Zarr. These minor league game threads felt empty without you.
  18. So not top prospect in baseball = sucks now. I guess our entire minor league system sucks then
  19. He’s 9 months younger than the next youngest position player in AA and has a respectable 88 wRC+.
  20. Yeah I just realized that after I posted. The lineup definitely makes way more sense knowing Alexander is likely just an opener.
  21. Just realized Alexander is an opener so this lineup makes more sense.
  22. Interesting lineup against a LHP. Caratini and Turang over Contreras and Taylor are probably the most interesting picks. Hopefully it works out.
  23. Absolutely shocked that building a starting rotation with ages 30, 34, 36, 38, 40 has resulted in a rotation that's dealt with a ton of injuries. I mean pitchers already get injured enough but having a gigantic payroll with an intended SP group with an average age of 35/36 was absolute madness.
  24. His velo has been down a bit this year. He was closer to 94 last year and has been more 92 this year, but I feel like that wouldn't explain how drastically he has fallen off. He just doesn't seem confident right now. I don't want to right him off completely, but he really doesn't belong on the 40-man roster and I very much doubt he would get claimed by a team if we removed him from the 40-man.
