  1. The double in his first AB was off a slider (granted it was a hanging slider) but still good to see.
  2. Especially with him playing at Coors in that time. The average batting line at Coors in the late 90's was insane. HoF level hitting splits being the average hitter splits there.
  3. Caratini bomb! Maybe Counsell knows what he is doing!
  4. Adley and Contreras have both caught 17 games this season. Seems like they both are getting plenty of games off behind the plate. Realmuto has been catching 140 games for over half a decade he is used to it. Contreras has never caught 100 games in his career and he only caught 68 games last season. He's on pace to catch 111 games this season.
  5. Catchers rarely ever play day games after night games. Why do you continue to ignore that?
  6. Someone at the game said EBJ is sitting on the top rail of the dugout with no ice on his face. Seems like a good sign it was just precautionary to take him out of the game!
  7. Nice to get an early lead. Hopefully BA can push it to 3-0 here.
  8. Which again comes back to you wanting to give up on Winker 25 games into the season. We got Winker to be our every day DH against RHP.
  9. Both were accidents. I don't think it looked that terrible in terms of getting hit in the face so fingers crossed he won't miss more than a couple of days.
  10. Would be nice to have a single game thread this season where people aren't complaining about Counsell's lineups.
  11. Contreras played 97 games in the MLB last season and 13 in AAA. He's on pace to play 15 more games this season than he did in the 110 games combined last year. Winker had a day off 2 days ago and was pinch hit for yesterday. He's also being exclusively used as a DH so he doesn't need "rest days" when he isn't playing in the field.
  12. Eric Brown Jr hit in the face with a pitch in the 1st inning and was removed from the game. Very scary moment.
  13. So you just want to give up on Winker 24 games into a season! Fantastic idea! I've also explained ad nauseum why Contreras is not remotely comparable to Grandal. Stop comparing the two situations.
  14. Catchers basically never catch day games after night games. You're making this way more difficult than it has to be.
  15. Mexico City's elevation is 7300 ft. Denver's is 5200 ft. Again not really comparable.
  16. Helton has Coors working against him though and Votto has an MVP.
  17. Big reason I think he's bound for 1B eventually. Doesn't have the arm to play 3B and doesn't have the range to play 2B. I actually thought he has looked best defensively in the OF but we have a lot of OF prospects above him on the pecking order.
  18. Need to get off to a good start in this one. 3 game losing streak and we have been down early in all 3. Down 4-0 in the 2nd yesterday. Down 3-1 heading into bottom of 3rd Monday. Down 3-0 in the 2nd on Sunday. Absolutely need Freddy to bounce back today.
  19. Thank you for this article. I thought he was way further away from the plate than normal lol.
  20. Brewers BP has been phenomenal this series. 10 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 11 SO. Too bad the SP has been absolutely atrocious. 8 IP, 13 H, 8 ER, 6 BB, 5 SO.
  21. Salt Lake City is 4300ft above sea level. Mexico City is 7300. Just not even comparable. They can explore these effects in AAA where there are a bunch of PCL parks at high elevations.
  22. Is he going to sit on the bench? I think he continues to start and Anderson goes back to 3B.
  23. It will be Perkins going down who looks even worse than Wiemer offensively and isn't close to the defender Wiemer is.
  24. Disagree. Elevation will always be the biggest issue with Mexico City.
  25. I don't think MLB would ever go to Mexico City because of the elevation. 8000ft above sea level would be way too offensive of an environment.
