Smart play by Ward in LF throwing his hands up with the ball under the wall. That easily scores the runner from 1st if it isn't an automatic double. 5-3 is much different than 4-3.
2nd inning wasn't as good for Misiorowski. Battled the command a bit. Gave up a run on a walk and two lazy line drive singles. Final line for him, 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 SO. 41 pitches, 29 strikes.
Misiorowski just had one of the most dominant innings you will ever see. Struck out the side on 11 pitches. Only 3 pitches were outside the zone. 7 swings, 6 whiffs. His command seems MILES better than it was last year.
And here I thought we couldn't possibly have worse injury luck this season. 4 weeks into the year and we already have more injuries than we did most of last year.
Frelick needed thumb surgery from sliding into a freaking base for goodness sake.
One positive from today is Bryse Wilson is actually looking like a good pitcher. Would not be surprised if he pitches himself into a more high leverage type role if he keeps this up. He's also under control through the 2026 season if he can keep this up.
Just really hurt when Boyd got a clear ball called a strike on a 1-1 count with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Perkins probably doesn't get a hit either way but 2-1 would have been way different than 1-2.
Hell no. Brewers should absolutely avoid putting their AAA team in the PCL where half the stadiums are at ridiculous elevations and the offensive environment is absurd.
The Madison Mallards average like 6000 fans per game as a Northwoods League team which is 1600 less than Nashville did. If you don’t think Madison could put up those numbers with a Brewers AAA affiliate then I don’t know what you’re smoking.
He has better command of his slider than he does of his FB and the command has greatly improved. Since he returned from his knee injury his command has been much improved. 15 innings between AFL and AA with 23 K to 6 BB.
You've been told countless times Suter is a low leverage pitcher. He would have been nowhere near this game. Bryce Wilson replaced him and has been better than Suter.
Victor Castaneda. Here is his fangraphs page: https://www.fangraphs.com/players/victor-castaneda/sa978399/stats?position=P
He was going to be moved to the bullpen this season. Decent FB. Think splitter was his best pitch. Definitely has MLB bullpen potential.
I think 2B is no longer a thing for him because of the shift bans. Range is super important again now and Black just doesn't have good range. I thought he was pretty decent in the OF last year but our OF is stacked with prospects so 3B made the most sense. I still think 1B or super utility is what he ends up being long term but getting him practice at 3B is better than sticking him at 1B at this point.
Chourio just turned on a 99 mph Ben Joyce FB and ripped a bases clearing double to the LF corner. Huge insurance runs. Biloxi up 7-3 in the top of the 9th now.
Yeah I would be shocked if he was on the active roster tomorrow. Maybe the IL him instead of DFA but that was very "let his arm fall off because he won't be in the pen tomorrow" energy that inning.
Jeison Pena with a big W. Pitched a scoreless 7th and then didn't allow the Manfred runner to score in the 8th despite 2 HBP. Final line 2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 5 SO
