    Voit has a 56 wRC+ compared to Winker's 72 wRC+. His peripheral numbers are also worse than Winker's as well. Also his 0.07 BB/K ratio is 12th worst in the MLB out of 332 hitters with at least 40 PA.

    I don’t know what the Brewers are supposed to do with Luke Voit. He basically seems like a poor man’s Keston Hiura seeing far too many of his AB vs LHP. Really just feel like they need to dump him and find someone somewhere that can respectably hit LHP. Voit since the start of last season has a 53 wRC+ in 191 PA vs LHP with a 38% K-rate. With Winker and Rowdy on the team he’s going to be seeing a good chunk if not most of his PA vs LHP. It’s really just a bad roster fit. He’s also whiffing on 40% of his swings this season which is the same rate Keston whiffed last year.

    Would be awesome to get a Cy Burnes performance tomorrow so we can head into Sunday with the series already won with Rea on the mound.

    I am with jyou that the vibes just feel very off for that team right now. Super low energy. They really need a big breakout game with the bats to get going.

    I think he should DH tomorrow.

    His changeup was his most used pitch tonight. 24 swings, 12 whiffs. 50% whiff rate against his changeup. I don't know why/how our hitters are so bad against LHP but it needs to be fixed.

    Don't love seeing Low put on the injured list. Really hope it isn't a pitching injury. I thought he was scheduled to start yesterday which has me scared it is a pitching injury.

    Probably the safe call especially considering the Angels have a team wRC+ of 130 against LHP.

    If he is going to DH Contreras in this series it will likely be tomorrow with Burnes on the mound because Burnes has seemed more comfortable with Caratini as his battery mate.

    So Clayton Andrews pitched tonight. He also pitched last night. He's the first Sounds pitcher to pitch on back to back days this season. Maybe there is nothing there, but I feel like minor leaguers rarely pitch back to back days. Could be the Brewers trying to get him comfortable with a more MLB type bullpen schedule. I probably am just reading way too much into it though.

    Just lacks experience over there as well. He should have just held onto the ball on that play. The throw wasn't going to beat the runner.

    I feel like he hasn't looked as sharp the last two outings but he continues to get whiffs and strikeouts. Just a very good pitcher.

    I very much disagree that DW's fastball isn't good. It also isn't straight as an arrow. His 4-seam FB this year is 1.2 inches better than league average in vertical movement and 2.9 inches better than average in horizontal movement (9.8 inches of break). Combine that with his 100th percentile extension and that FB is a good pitch.

    I said they don't catch. Not that they don't play lol. Brewers have a full-time DH on their roster in Winker. It's not as easy to just play Contreras at DH when he isn't catching when they need to get Winker consistent ABs.

    Regarding Contreras use, I will say this. He should absolutely be playing in all 3 games of the Angels series with 3 LHP on the mound for them. I think Counsell will have Contreras catch the 1st and 3rd game with Caratini catching Burnes in the 2nd game with Contreras DH'ing.

    I've been paying a lot more attention to his on the broadcasts this year. Sometimes those strike zone boxes are not remotely close to being the knee to the belt so the pitch doesn't hit the box and people complain about the call when it was actually a strike.

    He's set to pitch tomorrow against the A's. We are scheduled to face 3 LHP in the Angels series though so not much better.
