  1. Gameday for minor leagues is historically inaccurate. Like the pitches aren't even remotely close to where they actually are in real life.
  2. Just for comparison's sake this is the % of team payroll each of the guys on this list is taking up according to spotrac's payroll numbers. Cabrera - 26.2% Yelich - 21.7% Seager - 18.0% Rendon - 18.0% Trout - 17.3% Altuve - 15.2% Judge - 14.3% Scherzer - 12.5% Freeman - 12.0% Stanton - 11.4% Realmuto - 9.8% Diaz - 5.7% Yelich may not be the worst contract but his contract hampers the team more than the rest of these guys except Miggy who retires after this season.
  3. Fantastic article! Hopefully by next month we can see a Chourio/Quero/Brown Jr type name on the list.
  4. Yelich is easily the 4th worst contract on this page. Rendon, Stanton, Cabrera are worse but Cabrera expires after this season. The biggest issue with Yelich is he already is providing negative value compared to his contract and has 5 more seasons of team control so if he's providing negative value compared to his contract at 30 how bad is it going to look when he's 34-36.
  5. LHP who throws from unconventional arm slot. His arm slot kind of reminds me of Hader's arm slot. He sits 92-93 (he supposedly has topped out at 97 in the past but haven't seen that velo in Biloxi yet) with his FB. His best pitch, in my opinion, is a big sweeping slider that sits around low 80s. He also occasionally throws a changeup. All 3 of his pitches are very high spin. For example his recorded slider spin rate would have been 11th in the MLB last season. I think he could be a LOOGY type guy if his velo stays in that 92-93 on his FB but if his velo can tick closer to 95 then he has high leverage type potential because his slider is the real deal. Here's a video from Brewers PD of some of his stuff from this year. Awful camera angle so apologize for that.
  6. Like Chirino for example has thrown 60+ innings at AA and is currently dominating AA. Feel like he's ready to be promoted to AAA. Thompson and Uribe don't feel that far behind either.
  7. I'm curious what the Brewers are going to do. AA is testing the pre-applied tacky baseballs while AAA and MLB are both using normal major league baseball. Feel like Some of these guys dominating in AA might get pretty quick call ups to AAA so they can start using the baseballs the MLB uses. That doesn't seem problematic until you realize how many pitchers on the 40 man roster are in the Sounds bullpen at the moment and that the Sounds roster is pretty much full to the brim.
  8. I do think putting Gasser back out there for the 6th was a developmental call trying to challenge him. Don't think that move is made in the MLB. I still think he left Bukauskas in for 2 batters too long not that Mejia is exactly an inspiring choice to get out of the jam at the present.
  9. Some very questionable managing from Sweet today. Feel like he's left his pitchers in too long multiple times now and it's cost the Sounds on the scoreboard.
  10. Eddy Alvarez makes it home on a wild pitch and we are all tied up at 6!
  11. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out down 6-5 in the 7th. Keston hit two foul balls that had HR distance to LF but eventually struck out in at bat.
  12. Yeah very questionable call from Sweet putting Gasser back out there.
  13. He was supposedly tipping pitches to start this year.
  14. Biloxi might have the most formidable 7th, 8th, 9th inning pitchers in all of AA. Thompson, Chirino, and Uribe are absolutely dominating the competition this year. Today they combined to retire 9 straight with 7 SO. Meeker gave up a HR to the first batter he faced and after that the bullpen retired 15 straight with 11 SO.
  15. Harold Chirino pitching back to back days now for Biloxi. This makes me feel like it is something we should pay attention to. Chirino and Andrews are the only 2 RP to pitch on back to back days in the system so far and they have arguably been the 2 best RP in the system so far this season.
  16. Think you're making that play out to be way easier than it actually was.
  17. Brewers have been elite this year at shutting down the running game. Feel like we must lead the league in pick offs.
  18. Command has been way better today.
  19. Agreed. Rea could probably pitch another inning with his pitch count, but no sense throwing him out there against Trout/Ohtani a 3rd time with an off day tomorrow.
  20. Luke Voit needs to be off the roster ASAP. He can't hit LHP. 24 PA, 1 single, 14 SO against LHP. Something like a -88 wRC+
  21. The 39 LA was the biggest LA on a HR to CF in the statcast era.
  22. Coming into today he had a -85 wRC+ and a 54.5% K-rate vs LHP on the season. Very thankful he's a weakside platoon guy for us!
  23. Season high in K's this year for him is 5. He had 3 in the first inning making all 3 of those hitters look silly.
  24. Because that pitch to Adames was a strike.
