    I don't even see the point mentioning Singleton. Singleton's career was derailed by his substance abuse issues. Who knows what he could have done if it wasn't for that.

    Fangraphs says he has an option, and I am inclined to believe them.

    I think he’d be a good pick for the Brewers as a 4th OF. According to Fangraphs he still has an option as well. Mashes LHP and has an option to me is the perfect stopgap to save some service time on our rookies or fill in if they struggle.

    It’s funny that even in a bad year by Winker he managed an xwOBA of .345 which would have been second best on the Brewers behind Rowdy and was 34th among qualified MLB hitters. He’s a very good hitter with considerably more upside at the plate than any of the players we lost this year.

    Yes but those are all just titles. Can the Brewers not be doing the same thing just with different titles? Did Stearns role change when he went from GM to POBO for us or was that just to prevent other teams from interviewing him for GM jobs?

    Would the job description change with the title change? I don’t think so. Isn’t the whole POBO title used to prevent teams from interviewing your GM for their GM role?

    I mean we got 1 40 FV and 2 35+ FV prospects in the Renfroe trade compared to 1 40 FV prospect in the Topa trade. Junk is currently our 13th rated prospect by Pipeline compared to Hernandez at 27th. So I really wouldn’t say we got the better prospect in the Topa trade.

    Why do people continue to harp on Hiura being mismanaged? The one time all year that he got a steady run of games in August he absolutely tanked his numbers and was horrible. CC managed him really well (other than the continued AB against LHP) to get the production he did out of Hiura despite having the worst K% in the MLB.

    Why do you seriously doubt that? He’s the unanimous number one prospect in baseball who had a 125 wRC+ in 130 MLB PA as a young 21 year old.

    I'm not saying BTV is the end all be all, but Burnes for Henderson, Hall, Rodriguez is nearly a $100M overpay on BTV. It's not even remotely a fair trade. I doubt Baltimore would even accept Burnes for Henderson straight up.

    I was talking age in comparison to when the contracts were signed. Was pretty clear.

    You said Woodruff's extension doesn't kick in until his final year of arb? Either Woodruff is older and his extension kicks in during 2024 or Woodruff is younger and his extension kicks in for 2023 which factors in two arb years and is too big of a contract. Castillo's contract takes him through his age 34 season. If Woodruff's extension kicks in during 2024 like you said then it would take him through his age 35 season (a year older than Castillo). So which is it?

    Burnes had an oblique injury that ended his 2020 season early. They both have 1 IL stint in their MLB careers and Castillo has pitched over 300 more innings than Burnes in his career. Neither of them have any serious injury concerns.

    What injury history does Luis Castillo have? He has 1 IL stint in his MLB career and from what I can see he didn't have any injury history in his minor league career.

    The big prospects in the Castillo trade were a 20 year old and 18 year old in A-ball. That's a huge difference compared to Grayson Rodriguez who is a 22 year old who would have already made his MLB debut if it wasn't for an injury.
