    Considering Collins has basically been corner OF Blake Perkins with a better bat, I’ve started to wonder if they might just option Perkins to AAA and let him get a lot of reps there after a long absence. Assuming Mitchell is healthy because then Perkins CF defense isn’t as necessary.

    Yeah. Brewers specifically targeted him in a trade and he’s been absolutely lights out flashing really good stuff and now potentially adding a changeup as well. I don’t think we need to worry about this one. He’s going to be added to the 40 before he can elect FA.

    It will be interesting to see how they manage Coleman Crow's innings this year. He's already up to 37 IP but he's coming off throwing 24 innings total the last 2 years. He did throw 128 innings in 2022 though. Maybe they can get him to around 100 innings? That would set him up well next year to jump to like 120-140 innings.

    Also left the game with a trainer that he called for. Nightmare start to his first pro season.

    Big win for the Rattlers after the blown save. Guaranteed a series split over a very tough opponent in Cedar Rapids.

    Carolina has had a really rough series. They might be in danger of choking their division lead with only a couple weeks left in the first half.

    Coleman Crow is absolutely dealing through 2 innings. Just a dominant 2 innings. 4 K's through 2 whiff a bunch of swing and miss and called strikes.

    ACL Brewers got walked off and their losing streak is up to 4. Tough week for them.

    Per his instagram, Jayden Dubanewicz is getting promoted to Carolina

    It's because he's been elite defensively and has been a roughly league average hitter. He's basically been as valuable as Blake Perkins just in LF with the dropoff in defensive position being countered by being a slightly better hitter.

    It’s obviously very early so a lot can change, but so far the DSL class of 2025 is not looking very strong. Any class following the 2024 class was likely going to be a step back so this isn’t all too surprising. That 2024 class might be looked back as one of the best DSL classes ever.

    Yeah I’ve seen Rowdy comps because he’s bigger but Rowdy never seemed flabby. I get more Vogelbach vibes from Burke so I hope that he can get into better shape and doesn’t get bigger as he ages into his 20’s.

    Some scouts think he's the best player from Venezuela in the IFA class so that's why the high ranking. Personally I just don't read much into the IFA rankings before the guys start playing games. Made and Pena weren't considered great prospects heading into their IFA signings and today both are Top 100 prospects with Made as high as Top 5 and Pena as high as Top 30.

    I'm surprised how many Brewers fans I've seen shocked at how good Ashby looked today. He didn't look this good in his first two outings but this is pretty much exactly what he looked like the last 5 weeks of the season last year when he was one of the best relievers in MLB. These were his numbers post being called up in late August: 19.2 IP, 1.37 ERA, 0.78 FIP, 1.70 xFIP, 37% K-rate, 4% BB-rate, 51% GB-rate

    Pitching was really good today and Ashby is hopefully out of the doghouse which should boost the bullpen even more.

    Dikember Sanchez comes in and gets up 0-2 then proceeds to hit Gillen in the front foot on the third pitch.

    Meccage just really lost the feel in the 3rd and 4th innings. Lots of bad misses. His day is done after 3.2 IP. 3.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 5 SO with the bases loaded and top of the order coming up so more runs might hit the line. 75 pitches, 37 strikes.

    Baseball America just did a big Top 30 update for every org. Risers - Henderson, Pena (obviously), Wilken Fallers - Bitonti, Hunt Additions - Adamczewski, Hardin, Dinges Henderson made a huge jump from 20th to 6th.

    1B/LF Tyler Black sent back to ACL Brewers on a rehab assignment (not sure what happened there) RHP Ayendy Bravo is headed stateside. Promoted from DSL Brewers Blue to ACL Brewers.

    The issue is if you return Chandler Welch then Carolina is going to be in a tough spot pitching wise. The system’s pitching is pretty light at the lower levels and AA and especially AAA are a bit overflowing

    18 year old Tyler Renz went 6 innings allowing 4 baserunners and 1 run. 23 year old Jose Nova has allowed 4 baserunners and 3 runs while only getting 1 out
