    This site is by far the most professional and thoughtful Brewers site I've ever come across. The staff put a ton of time into making sure quality control standards are maintained so we can keep a great civil community. There are definitely topics where I prefer a much more unmoderated approach, but those are generally times when I know I'll be discussing things with smart people and everything will be cool. If I'm discussing things with people I know personally, I want no limits. This is baseball though, and there's no need to be a complete idiot about it, that's why this is the only baseball forum I visit. Unmoderated baseball forums are a complete mess, and any forum that's even nearly this size that isn't controlled just turns into a gigantic mess. I love that I can come here and discuss baseball with a huge community and know that the discussion won't drop to the level of nonsense. I think that's why so many people here come to prefer this site above all other baseball message boards.

    The park was about three miles away, but oddly enough, no bus ran directly from downtown to the stadium. Umm, because there was no game. Why would they run a bus to a stadium in the winter - the scores of people who just wanna stare at it from the lot and then leave?

    What did Cabrera get that gave the Phillies the idea that $7M would be a fair offer? "Those penalty sit-ups you want me to do? I got it right here in my contract that I don't have to do any calisthenics I don't feel are necessary. What do ya think of that?"

    This is essentially a new "deal" every year, though, so you'd think Boras is getting his cut. It's always possible that the contract calls for a much lower cut when the salary is submitted by the team and they have no real control.

    Man do I wish Cecil Fielder did some feel-good celebrity rehab type of deal and things got all mushy and compelled Prince to go back to his dad as his agent.

    Well Prince, you could easily be making $5M+ this year if you wanted to sign an extension and lock yourself in. That ain't the team's problem, that's due to association with Boras who would never let you take a dollar now when you can make a buck fifty in 4 years. If you want to grab at all the money you can possibly make in your career, you have to go through this process. It's like going to college, you can either take more money with a job now or be poor for 4 years and then make more, but you can't have both.

    Will this devalue the card any? From my card collecting days it seems that any screw up can do nothing but increase the value of a card.

    What if we just made it a giant billboard for a boyband starring our infield? Prince would be the doughy one with the sweet voice, Rickie the shy cute one, JJ the more flamboyant cute one, and Bill Hall the ultimate rebel. Then, they'd need a sweet name, like "Male Call".

    Actually, that freak show would probably be a big draw. Play in the south in the offseason in smaller stadiums, maybe use aluminum bats, and allow absolutely no drug testing. It would die out fast like the XFL, but would be quite the circus at first.

    Also, chiropractors are quacks. I said it so its true. Nuh-uh, a chiropractor cured my lazy eye by adjusting my spine and prescribing chelation therapy after having my amalgam fillings removed.

    40 seems about right. We expect to be a winning team in a playoff race, and don't have a lot of starters who go deep, so he'll get plenty of chances. Of course, if the rest of the pen dominates, he'll get less opportunities since we'll then have fewer close games.

    The problem with fantasy rankings is that they only really have any meaning within the context of fantasy baseball, as that ranking has Chone Figgins ahead of Chipper Jones.

    I was very pleased with acquiring Cameron, Gagne and Torres, moving Braun to LF, Hall to 3B, and shedding Estrada. I'm also happy about getting comp picks and not giving up any. I was slightly happy with signing Riske and Kendall and dumping Mench. I am not thrilled about acquiring Mota and the possibility of some of our good young arms being in AAA because they're blocked by guys I wanted to see traded. I'm sure there are also some near-misses on trades that I'd be anywhere from unhappy to very happy about had they happened. Overall, I'd say B+.

    He'd be a no-brainer for either florida team with zero fans and little hope of a division title if he came cheaply. What, are those 19 Rays fans gonna be alienated by having a roider on their team and not pay to go watch the team in their junk stadium? The freakshow would put more butts in the seats than what they've passed off as a legit product.

    True that, I'd rather have a very iffy Bartolo Colon than a Randy Choate. There's a very good chance that he contributes nothing, but the exact same can be said about Choate.
