  1. So we could see the 3TO logo on the Classic Thong? That could make for some rather interesting coversations... If the Brewers make the playoffs, I hereby swear that I will buy one of those, and wear it during each game. Not that I wouldn't wear one anyway when not wearing my Russell Branyan under-roos. I'm still sayin' that 3TO amber safety glasses would outsell those t-shirts 3-1.
  2. The Muscle is the new fan favorite. 3TO, baby... the Revolution has begun. It just really sucks that for everyone outside of WI that the revolution will not be televised. It sucks that Cafe Press doesn't offer amber-tinted hunting glasses. A pair of those babies sporting the 3TO logo would probably be the coolest thing ever, not to mention I'd prolly get about infinity women every time I wore them,
  3. Russell Branyan is now on pace to whiff a measly 162 times, take that haters.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  4. Brewerfan hate mail? Obviously these tools did not get the same advice a wise old sage named Ice-T gave to me, and hater the playa rather than the game. I should post the email address of the hate-mailers, so we can tell them how much they suck at things To quote George W. Bush and Tom DeLay: "bring 'em on".
  5. I just hope to God Brian doesn't hold out for too much cash and get replaced by Omar Epps.
  6. I'm sitting here with a needle and a spoon, but no major league forum to get my fix..starting to sweat...hands are shaky...
  7. This is probably the first time I've ever said this, but you guys are really lucky to be able to listen to Bill and Daron call this game. The Rangers guys, Josh Lewin and Tom Grieve are seriously one of the worst combos I have ever heard announce any sport. They're just increible homers talking about Blalock and Teixeira being poised to be better than Pujols and Rolen and bragging their guys up in general. Plus, they seem so friggin' clueless. They begin the game talking up Kenny Rogers because he almost won 20 games last year, and don't even mention the 4.76 ERA, and then talk about how Davis did well, but he only went 12-12, as if that's a fault on his part.
  8. Looks as if FSNSW has teamed up with the Easter Bunny to deliver a present through my television tonight, YESSSS! Pretty sweet that I'll have seen 2 Brewers ST games in Texas. How do I know if I'll be able to catch the game? I'm in Eau Claire and none of my listings that I'm checking show that the game is on. Is the same for others? Sorry if a bit off topic Since you get FSN North in E.C., I'd assume you're getting the game.
  9. I didn't like the "pimping" of Harris that went on when he was acquired, but in the one year he played in Milwaukee he was above average. I don't get the Hate for Lenny if you compare Durrington's numbers and project the abysmal numbers of Cirillo. What exactly is everyone's problem with a backup who's better than league average? I guess if the player is "grittier" then it's ok to be "crappier". ...many people have made off-handed comments against harris over the last few years, and many of the same people don't seem to have a problem with Durrington or Cirillo. It's about time somebody said it. Harris probably gets slammed as much as any former Brewer, save for maybe Hammonds, by posters on this board, despite the fact that he was pretty solid in his year in Milwaukee. Yes, the guy does get way too much credit for being a "great pinch hitter" and utility man, which only means he's among the best players who aren't good enough to start for anybody. At the same time, he does his job, and is a competent player, nothing more, nothing less, and it's not like the guy was signed to Jeffrey Hammonds' contract.
  10. I seriously wonder if Branyan would be A) surprised B) honored, or C) extremely distrubed if he ever visited this site. I'd think a guy who has struggled to get significant playing time would be pretty overwhelmed by that kind of support. At the same time, a guy who has never exactly won an MVP may get a little worried about our mental health. Also, that mothership is ready to fight over him. People of all relgions are willing to die for their deity, and even devoted members of political and social organizations will take a bullet for their guy. If people are willing to take a bullet for Clinton or Bush, my willingness to step up to the plate for the prophet should not be surprising. Plus, I'm hoping to get back into boxing, and Russell Branyan debates help me identify sparring partners.
  11. Overbay: drafted 1999. N64: relased 1996
  12. Anyone else getting tired of this Honda lawn mower commercial? "This changes everything." Awful. I had thought of Honda a an innovative company committed to quality, but the quality of that commercial was akin to something a local restaurant would run, kinda like those cheap Degree commercials. I never get persuaded to buy a product based on a commercial, but my opinion of a company can be lowered by one, and this spot did it. Hart looked somewhat uncomforatble at the plate at times today, nothing too discouraging, but enough to raise a little concern. Cirillo looked the same, but didn't it seem like his pants were jacked up a little bit? Sure sign of old age. I used to agree wholeheartedly with Brian's mantra of "Hendrickson has nothing left to prove in AAA", but now may have to rethink that. As much as I want the guy to get in the groove and I believe that his minor league performance was the real deal, I just don't want to take a bunch of automatic losses waiting for him to fulfill his potential. Prince didn't handle that pickoff attempt so well, but both he and Weeks looked competent in the field, while Hardy looked pretty awesome. Obie frustrates me so frickin' much. He puts up numbers like he did today, and you think he's finally coming around, and then he'll go out and get rocked in his next appearance. I still think his best use would be in the pen, but I'd sadly rather see him grab the #5 than Hendrickson when they break camp. I have no doubt that Hendrickson will be WAY better than he's shown so far, but he just may need to do some tinkering in AAA before rejoining the Crew.
  13. Ben looked horrible. I unfortunately have not seen him look anything but awful. That Weeks to Hardy to Fielder DP made me drool. They got it right this time "Rickie Weeks".
  14. This is sooooooo friggin sweet. First time I've gotten to see Prince (and any of the other kids) in action.
  15. He managed only 40 singles, but offset that with 42 extra base hits, including 30 home runs. I believe I have seen that line before, but good lord is that ridiculous. He is The One.
  16. Sign up people in every major media market as Brewerfan.net correspondents. Might take some time, but it is doable. Check. We've got that down. I've got Dallas/Ft. Worth, there's several of you in L.A., Geno in Chicago, gregmag in Philadelphia, we've got a couple in the Twin Cities, EDR in Seattle, DHonks in AZ, Pogokat in Atlanta, brewmann in New York, Clancy in VA, and there's gotta be several I can't remember or am not aware of in other in markets. We have people in more cities than CNN.
  17. I don't know what the locked thread was, but I see no ethical problem in saying things like "BP had Prince Fielder rated as the number one prospect in the system and projects him to be a .900 OPS hitter". I would say that without cutting and pasting, it's pretty much a no-harm, no-foul situation. It's not really the same as using a book and having to cite it, since these are pay sites, which are intended to only be read by subscribers, but Playboy is the same way, and I'd have no problem giving a summary of Lou Dobb's commentary on the economic impact of outsourcing that was in the issue I received today.
  18. So in the spirit of Mr. 3000 (or Democratic lawyers in '00), I demand a recount! Don't mess with Brian right now, there's been a mandate. He's earned some capital, fan forum capital, and now he intends to spend it.
  19. If director of Mustache Awareness ever opens up, let me know. I decided that March is Mustache Awareness Month, as I think the 'stache is something neglected in the real world as well as cyberspace. I also have extensive experience in bowling, beer drinking, ninjitsu, and beany baby collecting. There, keep that resume on file.
  20. I think I could hit off Jamey Wright, man is he worthless! Sometimes teams can't get it through their heads that potential is not always realized, and that guys like Wright tank and will never become acceptable major leaguers.
  21. Most people responded pointing out that Counsell likely would have taken the Brewers through the arbitration process, and it wasn't worth the gamble. Those people were probably right, but it is interesting to think about. I was certainly one of those people, as the Brewers had to make a mimimum offer of just under $2.5M, and I'd guess that Counsell doesn't hate riding the pine a bit (JJ isn't likely to play every single game, so he'd have gotten in, at least early on) and living near family so much that he rejects that much as the least he can end up receiving.
  22. would you still select him if you thought even for one moment that the negotiations may take you through January or even February of 2006? I guess it depends on how big the dropoff is. If we're talking about a college stud versus a very good high schooler, than I certainly go with the stud and hope things work out. If we're looking at a Kerry Wood or Josh Beckett type high schooler with a cannon arm, or a guy like Humber, then yes, I'd certainly be hesitant to take the chance. I personally would like to see the team take a 5 tool high school hitter, but it all depends on who's available.
  23. Colby, where have you seen Austin Jackson from Denton (TX) Ryan High ranked? I actually now work at that school, which also produced Javier Guerra (5th round-Dodgers) last year, and Jackson seems to be an incredible athlete as well. He did sign a letter of intent to play basketball, but one of my students plays with him and said that he's quite likely to jump into pro baseball. From all accounts, he's a level-headed kid with a great work ethic. You had compared him to Torii Hunter before, and when I saw him in the hall for the first time, that's exactly what I thought: very athletic frame and decent size. I'm really going to try to make a baseball game this year (unlike last year when I never made the trip to Gainesville to check out Luke Cannon), but if that doesn't happen, I have promised my student that I'll go watch one of their basketball games before the season's over, and he'll hold me to it.
  24. Yeah, if this team starts winning early, I predict way more traffic than last season when we all felt good to be a gangsta. When they were over .500, and during the week surrounding the draft, this place was a friggin' madhouse.
  25. I agree. I'd guess the question comes up about as often as inquiries as to how the 6 year FA rule works.
