  1. Yeah, if Sheets wants to have a career in baseball after pitching, I can easily see him being a color commentator with Milwaukee or somewhere else.
  2. Read somewhere that your best bet might be to stop at Walmart or Best Buy and see if they have any local stock left. What I understand of this tablet is that it's good for email and web browsing (assuming you have WiFi access), but that's about it. It's not designed to serve as a hardcore business tablet or anything like that.
  3. I get the sense that Reyes wants to stay in New York, which is why the Mets did not trade him. I really do not think Reyes signing with Milwaukee is realistic, as great as that would be. I know many will hate to hear this, but I could easily see Betancourt being our starting SS again next year.
  4. Well, if Casey can keep his OPS around .750 or so the rest of the season, that would at least be acceptable and contributing to the offense.
  5. Pretty good deal. I would probably jump on this if I didn't already have a Playbook.
  6. Very interesting. I'd like to read more on the context, though.
  7. ICQ. I still remember my ICQ #, even though my account was long ago deleted and I haven't used that program in years.
  8. If this is truly what happened, I think it's very indicative of the competency of Rickett's ownership. I'm not really that worried they'll be hiring a competent GM.
  9. Yeah, my wife and I have quite a few friends who have dated and gotten married through match.com and other dating sites. Probably at least half a dozen couples we know have gotten married after meeting this way. We met through friends like normal people, though. (Sorry, had to get that one in there!)
  10. Probably was inevitable for a while now. Just seems like a franchise spinning its wheels and waiting for some horrible contracts to come off the books. I'm not sure their farm system is that well stocked, though. Really makes the trade for Garza seems pointless, too.
  11. Not the best game to be at yesterday, but we still had fun. Place was packed and people were into the game, despite the loss. "Highlight" for me was seeing "Brewers Welcome Benevolent Order of the Goat (Local 666)" on the HD board. Have no idea how they let that one get on.
  12. Yeah. They supposedly can be trained to be nice animals, but I think by and large most people don't have any business owning them. They certainly shouldn't be anywhere where children are present.
  13. I'm pretty good at haggling with those guys, and have actually gotten some decent cash for some tickets I've sold in the past. You just have to remember you aren't going to get face value for them.
  14. This is a good point. Why would Sheets sign with the Crew when he would have very little chance of cracking the rotation. He'd be better off signing with some decimated team like the Astros where he would have a real shot of being at least a fifth starter.
  15. I can't imagine the Twins would be looking for that much in return. We're talking about the rental of a bench bat for slightly more than one month (OK, two if you count October...).
  16. This. Halladay is going to win and it's not really going to be close.
  17. Regardless of when you sit in unoccupied seats (and I agree you should wait until at least after the third inning), don't be the people that look around pretending to be confused and then SLOWLY get up and move out...that's the only time it really annoys me.
  18. Would love to see it happen. I think we really need a power bat on the bench before September 1st.
  19. I don't mind them. If you aren't interested, just say so and they move on. I've actually gotten some decent deals from some of them in the past.
  20. Does Prince Fielder count?
  21. It's obvious Hairston still has some stuff left in the tank while Lopez looks to be empty.
  22. Morgan must be selling a lot of merchandise by himself already. I've already seen quite a few of the official T-Plush t-shirts around.
  23. I'm sure he meant "compiler", meaning his numbers have simply been built up due to his long career. Anyway, I would disagree with Mr. Needles on this issue.
  24. It's an interesting idea that hasn't been floated previously (at least that I can recall). We have to remember that Attanasio would probably be heading a group to buy the team, just like he is the principal owner, not the sole owner, of the Brewers. My guess is that he would be able to do it in a way that would have virtually no impact on his commitment to the Brewers
  25. Maybe I am wrong, but didn't a Packers game get "bumped" for the Brewers during 2008 late in the season (might have been the last day of regular season)?
