  1. Possibly more entertaining, based on the current makeup of those respective teams.
  2. Well, either way, the idea of one six team division is so grossly unfair that I can't believe it hasn't been addressed yet. You would think Mark Attanasio and some of the other NL Central owners would have a big beef with it.
  3. I recall reading a story from a week or two ago from an Atlanta paper that made it sound like Smoltz was strongly leaning towards retirement.
  4. Gomez is regarded as fantastic defensively. I'm not sure how you can say you'd prefer Gerut to him.
  5. It seems like I read about a solution a while ago that would have involved rotating days off and possibly occasional double headers. I think it may have involved scheduling more 2 day series. I can't remember the details, but it made it pretty clear you wouldn't necessarily have to have interleague play the entire season.
  6. Yeah, it seems like you can find much better deals online as far as memorabilia then at the local brick & mortar shops.
  7. Either of which would be better than the current system. It still makes me angry that the Brewers are in the only six team division, which has no justification whatsoever, other than "The Pirates are usually terrible."
  8. Reported by McCalvy and Haudricourt. Salary info likely forthcoming shortly.
  9. I don't think Tejada will have any trouble playing 3B.
  10. I think Bush was bad in the second half last year because he probably was not fully recovered. I think you realize that though, JohnBriggs.
  11. The A's would be an interesting choice. Maybe Beane is looking at this like another Matt Holliday signing...they bring him in, and when the A's are invariably in the tank by the All-Star break, he can flip Sheets for a valuable prospect or two.
  12. With as bad as he's been at the plate since his stint in the majors, I expect Gamel will be starting at AAA this season.
  13. You mean like Kevin Mench?
  14. Those same "fans" in that part of the country probably think that Bud Selig is still the owner, and that the Brewers are playing in an old dilapidated County Stadium.
  15. Yeah, again, Bush is an average SP. Not spectacular, but he's not horrible. I don't get why everyone seems to have turned on him this off-season. He was pretty good last year until he got hit by that freak line drive. Letting go of Bush to get someone like Washburn or Maine is a very lateral move at best.
  16. It's become sort of a tradition that I think is more playful booing then anything. Do I think most of the fans really hate Brady Clark or guys like that? No.
  17. I'm surprised Two and a Half Men is the top rated Monday night show. I watch it occasionally and it's sort of funny, but nothing I feel the need to go out of my way to watch. I guess people really like Charlie Sheen.
  18. While 20 years is a long ways away at this point, I think chances are good the Brewers will be in Milwaukee beyond 2030. There are only so many cities in North America that can sustain an MLB team. I also expect MLB to expand to at least 32 teams eventually. That will further dwindle the amount of other cities that could potentially lure the Brewers away. That all said, the idea of a baseball team in Orlando is fairly idiotic, unless one of the other Florida teams relocates. Even then I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
  19. This is pretty hilarious: Orlando TV station reports Brewers "could relocate". The story from WFTV said Armando Gutierrez, a Florida real estate developer who is running for Congress, is assembling a group of investors to begin discussions about luring a Major League franchise to Orlando. Gutierrez did not specifically mention the Brewers as a target but WFTV reporter Mark Boyle did, speculating that, "one team that could possibly relocate is the Milwaukee Brewers." Totally untrue, Brewers vice president of communications Tyler Barnes said. "The reporter or whoever else is putting that out there should do his homework," Barnes said. "It's irresponsible. We just finished ninth in attendance, we have one of the best ballparks in baseball and an owner who is totally committed to the [Milwaukee] area. "That report is beyond hilarious. I needed a good laugh today, and I got it."The report in question.
  20. That's a great deal if he plays anything like he did this past season. I don't know why teams have been so gun shy on him.
  21. I wonder if this all points to Salome not being in the Brewers' long term plans. Couldn't they have pushed them to play him more if they wanted him to get some in-game seasoning? I really don't expect him to play in Milwaukee this season based on all of this. I expect him to be traded at some point, more than likely.
  22. Yeah, it's still my favorite show on TV by far. I was a bit disappointed to see a clip show, but even this episode had some bits that had me laughing, like the Computron and Dwight pretending to be Toby. Hopefully next week we get something more substantive.
  23. Otherwise, as much as I want to keep Fielder, I am afraid that doing so will make it difficult to have a winning ball club. Not unless we can start drafting and developing pitchers right now. I really wish there was a way to keep him and put quality pitching around the offense. Well, the Brewers do have a lot of young talented pitching under control, it's just all in the lower minors. Hopefully by 2011 some of those guys will be on the cusp of the big leagues.
  24. Yeah, we wish...and so do the Brewers, probably.
  25. I only want see another outfielder added if it's Damon or someone similar...someone who is actually still good. Of course that would dictate trading Hart, and I doubt any teams are really interested.
