    Ditto. I wish vendors would just be honest with "up front" pricing. That's the model some sites like Stubhub (IIRC) have gone to.

    I think that might be good. The later part of March is looking pretty busy for me. March 7th works for us. Anyone else? I can call Friday's in the next couple days and get a table reserved if that's what we want to do.

    My guess is that the Brewers will end up wherever they're given the best deal on a stadium, whether that's somewhere in the Phoenix area or in Florida. I do think they'd prefer to stay in Arizona for the reasons given already.

    Didn't the Brewers ask him to play at least part time in the OF and he refused? Guess beggars can't be choosers at this point in their careers. Good luck to Rickie, though. I hope he does well in Seattle.

    The other thing about wifi is that for someone like me, it ensures access to email. I have had to respond to important work emails while attending a game, numerous times. Sometimes cell reception inside Miller Park can be spotty at best.

    Yeah, I figured it would be about the Crusher too. Didn't realize Art Thomas was from Wisconsin. He was kind of an early pioneer as an African-American in the pro-wrestling world.

    Apparently a story came out via Mark Belling on WISN this afternoon, that the Menominee and Seminole tribes have agreed to put $200 million towards a new arena, and not ask for naming rights...but it is contingent on the Kenosha casino being approved. Very interesting to see where this goes (if anywhere).

    I was able to get through eventually, and found out this particular provider does not have an agreement with our local hospital. So it's back to the drawing board for our family as to what plan will work for us.

    Trying to shop around for health insurance is like getting a root canal. My wife and I are looking at switching providers, and just trying to find out if our local hospital accepts this other provider is maddening. Already called the hospital directly and they said we'd "have to check with the provider." How does that even make sense? And of course, we called the provider, been on hold for about 20 minutes, and haven't been able to actually talk with an actual human being yet.

    With the NFL season being over for nearly a week, and winter still holding it's chilly grasp on us, our collective thoughts turn to Spring Training and the 2015 Major League Baseball season. Likewise, it's time to once again start talking about our annual Brewerfan.net Winter Meetings! What are the Winter Meetings? Just an excuse for people from this forum (along with any friends or family they wish to bring) to get together for an evening and talk about baseball, and usually have some food and/or beverages. Where? In past years, we had alternated between meeting in the Milwaukee and Madison areas. The past couple seasons, we have met at Friday's at Miller Park. This has seemed to work out well. There has already been some talk among the mods about doing it at Friday's again this year, but we welcome input from anyone. When? Usually a Saturday night in March. We would need to figure out a date that makes sense and doesn't conflict with any holidays or major events. Please use this thread to give any and all feedback and suggestions! (Edit: Date and time now set...see thread title)

    I almost think it should be illegal to post a job if you don't intend to fulfill it within 90 days. So many people waste time applying for jobs where the company is just fishing for that perfect "golden unicorn" candidate.

    Heyman just tweeted that Papelbon is "still on the table" for the Brewers, but the player(s) being sent back is the big hurdle. So, basically just stuff we already know at this point.

    They seem to generally work out for Melvin. I am fine with this signing. I read that his velocity came back some last season, so maybe that's a positive sign.

    With the rise of Twitter, this forum isn't quite as heavily used as it used to be. However, once we get closer to the regular season starting, things usually pick up quite a bit. Anyway, glad you are here and posting.

    Looks like he's going to wind down his great career in Miami. It's a one year contract. First Japanese born player to sign with the Marlins, coincidentally.

    The only thing that scares me about K-Rod is the home run rate. If the salary is reasonable, I would not mind seeing him back in Milwaukee at all. I just wouldn't use him without at least a 2 run lead.
