  1. Just ordered tickets. Wife and I look forward to seeing some of you again and enjoying a great day of baseball!
  2. I'm totally speculating, but do they for some reason need an extra day to transport the equipment back to Milwaukee, since there's a game on Monday? Actually, nope, none of the games in the upcoming Pirates series appears to be in HD. So again, I'm at a loss.
  3. I hate the term "scouting" used in regards to talent already up at the MLB level. It's like it's implying the Brewers are a feeder team for the Red Sox or something.
  4. Not for a $5 million asking price it won't. Maybe a more serious look at DiFelice or someone from AAA, though.
  5. Yeah, the ump seemed to have it in for the Astros last night for some reason...but I don't see how you can hold that against Suppan. He exploited it to his advantage.
  6. I don't know. I've never heard an explanation for that one, either. Maybe someone should e-mail FSN and just ask. (I'm not sure how to contact them, myself).
  7. They're probably just upset because they know their team will be out of it soon enough and fire sale will ensue.
  8. Yeah...despite Hall's improved play this season, it's hard to say what the market really is for him at this point, given his contract.
  9. Why? Bill Hall is hitting decently enough and playing stellar defense. What's the point in rushing Gamel right now? I still don't get it...it's like everyone is in love with all of our prospects and want them all up at the earliest possible juncture.
  10. If he keeps it up, I think he should definitely get consideration. I have to believe he's save a couple runs thus far.
  11. I've only been to Vegas once, and enjoyed it. Here are my two biggest tips: - If you feel just like drinking, sit at one of the bars with video poker, and just place small bets occasionally. They'll keep giving you free drinks as long as you're sitting there and apparently spending money, even if it's just a few quarters. - People are constantly going to be harassing you with offers of free tickets or whatever, in exchange for going to a presentation, or some other such waste of time. Don't be afraid to be rude and keep walking. I didn't bother with any of them, but such people tend to wear on my patience pretty quickly.
  12. As long as Suppan can keep the Brewers in the game, I think the offense will continue hitting like they have. A win would be fantastic, like BC'04 said.
  13. I don't have a beef with Weeks right now. His defense has seemed to improve to the point where it at least partially makes up for his offensive detriments. Hopefully he can raise that OBP back up a bit as the season wears on. It was nice to see him homer yesterday, too.
  14. Well, with the way Bill Hall is playing, no reason to rush Gamel at this point. I think most are in agreement the more time he spends in AAA right now, the better.
  15. The Crew putting together some wins. Macha seems to be handling things pretty well, at the moment.
  16. FWIW, Cooper sounds pretty angry in the post game comments. "I'm pretty frustrated right now." Wouldn't want to be in his locker room.
  17. Isn't Holly supposed to come back at some point? That would be somewhat of a cliffhanger, eventually.
  18. OK, yeah, now that I recall, I was wrong about Vizcaino being the infamous "vampire."
  19. Latest reports say he's still sticking to his $5 million price tag (according to MLB Trade Rumors). If that continues to be the case, he might just price himself out of playing this year. Edit: And now right after I post that, they have a ton of new info up on Pedro, saying he may sign within the next two weeks, and the high asking price may simply be a tactic to delay his return. They don't really name any teams as solid possible suitors, though. Says the Nats and Angels have both have interest in the past, but neither team has talked to Martinez's camp in the past few weeks.
  20. Well, the nature of broadcasting is kind of like "same people, different places." The ones that stay in the same place for 20 or 30 years are the rare exceptions. If anything it speaks to the fact that the Brewers radio and TV producers have been very good at finding top tier talent.
  21. The Marlins were not the best team in baseball either year they won the world series, so I don't see this being a compelling argument. It is a strong case for trying to build teams that have a chance to get into the playoffs because once you reach the playoffs anyone has a chance to win the world series, even if they aren't the best team out there. Maybe not the best...I remember in '03 they were a surprise, but in '97 it seemed like they had a fairly stacked team.
  22. Vizcaino was definitely called "the vampire" on this forum. Not sure about elsewhere, but that's what I was referring to.
  23. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a PE license? Also sorry to hear about your job troubles. I know it's tough out there right now...I play in a rock band as a hobby, and three of the five guys in it are unemployed right now, which sucks (I'm self-employed and the other guy just found a job this past week, fortunately).
  24. This is a nice blurb from MLB Trade Rumors: "Marlins president David Samson doesn't anticipate the Marlins ever implementing a fire sale again. "We've put ourselves in a position, with salaries and the performance we're getting from players at a young age, that we don't have to do that anymore," said Samson. The new stadium should help with attendance, which should in turn help with payroll." Of course, the real proof will be when it actually comes time to pay some of their young studs. Though in fairness trades like the one that sent Cabrera to Detroit seem to have worked out well for them.
