  1. MLB Trade Rumors has a link to SI.com up, stating that Sheffield is going to sign with the Mets. Guess he'll get his chance to hit #500 after all.
  2. Man, that's a lot of strike outs though, especially for AAA I'd think.
  3. The article makes a good point...if your team's biggest thing to brag about is beating a community college 10 years in a row, maybe you should be re-thinking what team to cheer for.
  4. I do agree that between relatively cheap parking, ability to tailgate before games, and the current food/beverage take in policy, we have it pretty good. Most professional baseball and sports teams simply do not offer those kind of things. If I can pay about 10 bucks to park close by, eat and drink all I want before the game, bring in my own bottled beverages...and then have to pay 7 bucks or whatever for a beer, aren't I still coming out ahead?
  5. My advice would be to always wear a belt, and don't be afraid to use it. Just kidding, I don't have any kids.
  6. If Hall can just perform somewhere between his '06 and '07 numbers, that would be great.
  7. Yeah, I think someone mentioned that in another thread. That guy sure seems to get around to the fly balls I guess.
  8. I actually thought the Pirates' vests looked good too. Oh well.
  9. Yeah, there's probably not much impetus on their end to upgrade since the Brewers are locked in to their TV contract through 2011 (if I remember correctly).
  10. I agree. And if someone does want him, they may as well put him to some use. There's no room for him in Milwaukee, period. Still makes me chuckle that some people seem sure that San Diego would love to trade for him, though.
  11. Yeah, I mentioned this earlier, and I know a lot of people noted that last September. It was ridiculous seeing all the sharp pictures of guys like Longoria and Howard, and seeing Braun's home run highlight with "blur-o-vision" on the sides. Just made the Brewers seem rather podunk. I do agree with Patrick that it can be a real pleasure listening outside with the grill going, drinking a cold one and listening to Uke on the radio. But I'd rather have the choice, and I'd rather have the picture look good on my 50" HDTV than in FSN analog blurriness.
  12. Well, I don't think as many people would care if FSN hadn't made numerous mentions and allusions to the idea that most, if not all of the games would be in HD this year. Yeah, I bought a 9 pack, and would go to more games if I lived closer to Milwaukee...but I feel I support the team enough as is. Part of what I enjoy about summer is that even if I have a crummy day at work or something, I can look forward to watching Brewers baseball on TV in the evening. I do remember in the late '80s/early '90s before my family had cable, we'd get maybe one or two games a week total on TV, though. It's just that this is a different era for technology and baseball in general. The expectation these days is that most of the season will be on TV, and sports should always be available in high definition. That is the expectation set by the TV manufacturers, networks, and the sports themselves. It wasn't set by the consumer, necessarily.
  13. There was just a post on the JSOnline Brewers blog that basically made it sound like the policies were going to be exactly the same as last year.
  14. Hopefully they'll end up adding some additional games in HD. I have no idea if that is a possibility, but we can maybe cross our fingers at least. At least I won't have to wait until late August to see any HD games this season (thanks, Charter).
  15. I was already braced for April Fools jokes today, but still, good stuff.
  16. Haha, if I had any say, sure you could.
  17. Yeah, I'm getting it on both on Charter as well.
  18. Awww...crap. Yeah, that's what I want to see, Braun repeatedly looking at his hand after taking a fly ball.
  19. Yeah, a couple weeks ago he was yelling about how they should sign Pedro for $5 million or so.
  20. Bill Hall is fine defensively as long as he sticks to the infield, in my opinion. I have no stats to back that statement up, just my own observations.
  21. Looking forward to seeing more of the Mighty Casey this season.
  22. Yes, he absolutely should be inducted into the Brewers Walk of Fame someday. Even though he wasn't my favorite player, I give him credit for sticking with the team through some pretty crummy years.
  23. WSSP was talking about this, this afternoon. Gary Ellerson of course was saying that they should sign him in case Braun can't play occasionally.
  24. Yeah, seems like the Brewers continue to have positive business stories coming out. Assuming the team doesn't tank early, this is going to be another tremendous year.
