  1. I agree. The team has all these "weapons" now at their disposal. Might as well use them. At least use a pinch hitter or runner once in a while. Yeesh.
  2. Kapler was on Bob & Brian this morning and sounded at least encouraging. He was pretty confident they would win today and go on a hot streak. Optimstic, yes, but good to hear someone from the team saying it.
  3. I want Prince batting 9th, Kendall batting cleanup, and CC leading off. Is there such a thing an the "element of surprise" in a batting order? That would certainly have it. I'm all for taking Prince out of the clean up spot, though, seriously.
  4. I can't believe some of you. Mark Attanasio has been a great owner for the Brewers thus far. All this talk of him not being around (while having a well documented business career) and talk of "surrender hankies" is pretty silly.
  5. "We still have the Wild Card."
  6. STOP SUCKING! GET A WIN! GEEZ!
  7. I think Big Macs taste like a bunch of junk on a bun. More of a Whopper guy myself.
  8. There's hardly anyone in the bullpen you can trust right now not to give up a lead, it feels like. I had dread going into the 9th inning, and my fears were confirmed. I have a hard time getting mad about who batted in the 9th, since Counsell and Kendall both hit bullets that were caught on amazing defensive plays...but you still wonder why at least one of the two dozen or so bench options weren't used. I mean, you'd think you'd want someone with actual power in that situation... I think I'm going to try avoiding the game tonight...after being at the game Sunday, and watching last night's heart wrenching loss, I need a bit of a Brew Crew break to keep my sanity intact.
  9. I agree. Melvin and Yost would both have to be gone. This is basically the end of the "window of opportunity" set up by Doug Melvin & Co. If the team fails again this year, it's going to be really rough moving forward.
  10. Ditto...I was feeling really good about the Packers win. I had been flipping between the two games all night, and excited the Brewers were also going to get a nice win. Of course, we all know what happened...and I went to bed feeling rather enraged, rather than elated.
  11. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving player. (I'm too lazy to use the blue font).
  12. I liked the comments below the article.
  13. Yeah, but he'll finish the game even if he does have one.
  14. I'll be watching the Brewers primarily and switching to the Packers during commercials and lulls in the action. This is as big a time of year as we've ever had for the Crew. Of course, if the Brewers play like they did today, it will be a moot point and I will be firmly glued to ESPN.
  15. I will be at the game today (section 214). Looking forward to seeing Parra continue the streak of great Brewers pitching performances and finishing off the lowly Padres.
  16. I think the announcers are fine. Maybe I don't pay close enough attention to them during games, but I don't seem to pick up on half the "mistakes" and miscues that others on this forum seem to. I mean, if you think Anderson is a homer, fine, but can anyone imagine what Daron Sutton would be like this year calling Brewers games? I kind of shudder at the thought. As for Rock, he's not going anywhere...he's been doing Brewers TV for years, and is pretty solid compared to many others out there.
  17. I am kind of the same way as some others in this thread...I'll listen to 620 for a bit, then I usually flip between 540 and 1250. I think I like 540 overall a little bit more. The guys on 1250 seem like they like to come up with some really oddball observations to stir up controversy, Sparky especially.
  18. I agree. Why not make it 160? Seems like that would be perfect if they want to add two post season games.
  19. Dear Brewers, Please remember that just because the Cubs are losing doesn't mean you also have to lose your games in order to be good sportsmen. Thanks.
  20. I vote for the regular season to end on August 31. I'd take September 5, though. Right...because 22 teams aren't going to mind giving up a month's worth of revenue, right? Baseball isn't going to shorten the season based on economics...but I could see them expanding that opening round at some point. The thing is that so many traditionalists were against expanding the playoffs at all to begin with. I think the five game series is seen as a "do or die" type scenario.
  21. I'm glad I missed most of the game tonight. I think I would have cried or something.
  22. A team name that they considered was Toronto Saurus. That would have been amazing. They didn't go with THAT? That would have been awesome!
  23. Get a good team of lawyers & business minds and figure out a way to break that undermarket FSN contract. Come'on, this is sports, who doesn't break contracts? I wonder how much the new contract with WTMJ brought in. I hope the Brewers gouged them pretty well, but I somehow doubt it, seeing how chummy the two organizations seem to be. They can only up the prices on tickets and concessions so much before they'll have to find other ways to grow. They're only under the crummy FSN contract for a couple more seasons, at least.
  24. World Series win or bust!
