  1. I wouldn't know...it almost sounds like it could be some kind of power supply issue. (I'm by no means an expert on TVs, though). Have you tried calling Sony yet?
  2. I would also be in the camp that would rather see someone with no real prior connections to the Brewers come in as the manager next year. The exception would be if Sveum gets the club to the post-season...then I think you're almost obligated to bring him back for at least one year to see if he can keep it going.
  3. Supposedly the reason Yount left the Brewers after just one season as a coach was because he did not see eye to eye with Ned on a lot of stuff.
  4. Wow, huge news. Have to say I'm happy to hear that they're being aggressive in making a change. After Ryan Braun's comments in the JS, I think something had to happen, as clearly they didn't have a winning mindset anymore. Kind of surprised Sveum will be interim and not Simmons, though.
  5. I have started to notice ads on the right side edge of some posts this afternoon. Is this a new permanent thing? I realize bills have to be paid around here, I was just surprised by the sudden change.
  6. I think I'd quit watching baseball at that point, rather than join many of their "fans".
  7. Maybe if they have rain in Chicago in October, they can move a couple of the games to Miller Park so we can have a better chance to see playoff baseball in person.
  8. Yes, but do you have any reasonable expectation that they won't continue to nosedive at this point? I mean, they look like they can't even win a game anymore, let alone do well in their coming series against the Cubs.. Comments like the one you made are the same stuff we heard last year when the team was tail spinning out of their huge first place lead.
  9. Did Rivera sleep with Yost's wife or something?
  10. I can't call myself a Yost hater, but assuming the sweep is completed tonight, maybe it would be for the best to let Yost go. I know it won't happen, though.
  11. Like I said in the vent thread, I'm not even mad about the team at this point, just depressed. It's just so disappointing to see this team tail spin after going through so much of the season successfully.
  12. Yes, and it all starts with the manager and coaches (Skaalen) staying relaxed and not panicking. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Yeah...if only Yost and Skaalen had been more loose and un-panicky, Parra might not have given up 5 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings!
  13. I knew they should have skipped Parra. Young pitcher who has not looked that great lately, in a hitter friendly park. What did anyone really expect?
  14. Are you being serious? I really can't tell. It's funny how when the topic of other teams playing at Miller Park is brought up (like the possibility of the Cubs playing a season at Miller Park during upcoming renovations of Wrigley that will be likely), people think the Brewers will be able to hold dictatorial powers over the other teams and shake them down for a season's worth of payroll. I'm guessing MLB has pretty stringent guidelines for such scenarios.
  15. Me too. What harm would it have possibly done putting anyone else in there with two outs? He has Salome and Rivera for a reason.
  16. If we lose the coin toss, one thing is certain... People will blame Ned Yost.
  17. Tough call. Heads has the better career OPS, while Tails seems to have more upside in the defense and power numbers.
  18. I have a five year old Mitsubishi 48" rear projection type TV, and the difference between FSN in HD and the standard feed is no contest at all. The sound is also MUCH better (I do have a surround sound system). It really shouldn't come down to needing an LCD or plasma TV...any HD TV should show you a much better picture with an HD source than a standard definition source. I do think it's a shame that most of the remaining games will not be in HD. I assume it is simply a lack of HD trucks and cameras for FSN as a whole.
  19. I think we take at least two, but after today I am oddly optimistic that the Brewers could win three in this series.
  20. Calling out players publicly only serves to make fans happy, really, and that's not the manager's job.
  21. Still leading the WC by 4 games.
  22. A much needed and appreciated win today. I know there's supposedly no "momentum" in baseball, but it will be much easier to look at the Phillies series with this win under the team's collective belt.
  23. If the team can't score more than one run it's over.
  24. Any bullpen help is good at this point.
