  1. Wow. Probably time to set up some boundaries with these people.
  2. I wonder if he ate that SUV yet.
  3. 2 games back in the wild card! Get it done tonight Crew!
  4. They did a really good job with Jim last night. I feel like his character didn't really mean much last season, so it's good to see they're doing something with him again. I also liked the nod to the film producers at the beginning.
  5. Premier is tonight!
  6. Yeah, but the odds of Bud Norris out-dueling Jaime Garcia seem slim.
  7. He'd have to keep up his current pace for like 5-6 more years to have any shot, and I don't see that realistically happening.
  8. Bill Michaels made the interesting point yesterday that Braun's power numbers are actually up from last year, and without Fielder behind him in the lineup to boot.
  9. I think mainly the bullpen has improved because Axford and K-Rod have gotten better, which makes sense since they were both probably bound to bounce back. I still don't have much confidence in Parra, Loe, etc.
  10. Just read the Brewers now have a 7.1% chance of making the postseason now. HOPE!
  11. Harper? Frazier? Miley? Fiers? Aoki? Who do you think, Brewers fans?
  12. Yeah, not much criticism of the extra wildcard spot going on at this point, that's for sure.
  13. Dude...just freaking stop it already. You don't need to keep derailing this thread to talk about other people's playoff expectations because you perceive they're "coming at you." This thread is supposed to be about Mike Fiers, not your opinions about other forum users.
  14. Yeah, I read that yesterday. Good to hear that Ben Sheets doesn't seem to have any ill feelings toward the Brewers.
  15. Yeah, who would have thought even six weeks ago we would actually be caring about Brewers baseball games at this point? Other than for seeing some of the young guys, I figured these games would be completely meaningless. While their actual chances of making the post-season are still very season, it's just amazing that people are talking about it.
  16. Getting back to Michael Fiers, he's currently 9-7 with a 3.05 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. Very solid, but I doubt he gets the ROY. Wade Miley has been a tad better, and for a longer stretch. That's assuming it doesn't go to Todd Frazier or possibly Bryce Harper.
  17. Yeah, it's very frustrating to look back now. If they had just played .500 ball during that run in the middle of the season, Greinke would still be with us and the team might even have the wildcard pretty much locked up by now.
  18. We may or may not have to find a new daycare provider. The status seems to change every other day (it is not their fault, but the reality of the situation). Kind of frustrating.
  19. That may be. Hard to judge Gamel's defense since he didn't get to play too long into the season. I do like having a first baseman now where we don't have to wince if the ball is thrown more than a foot off the bat.
  20. Yeah, but one has to give them credit for sticking around in contention for so long. I really think next year the Pirates could displace the Cardinals and/or Reds as a perennial NL Central contender for a while. They're not going to be our annual doormat team either.
  21. They're basically just letting him "be Carlos Gomez" at the plate and not trying to have him hit high in the order like earlier in the season. Seems to be working. As far as paying him, I'm still not sure. The team does have other options for center field.
  22. I'm relieved they didn't give him a $200 million+ contract, which is what Detroit did. There really hasn't been any point in the season where I've felt, "Gee, we'd be winning right now if only we had Prince." The offense has been better and the defense has even gotten better with Corey Hart at first base.
  23. My best application story from when I worked in retail: Had a guy filling out the app at our counter ask me, "Do I have to fill this part out? I don't want them to know I'm a convicted sex offender." We didn't end up hiring him, go figure.
  24. That's way better than the last one where his face looked sort of like Roy Halladay's.
