  1. I'm kind of torn on this. I'm glad to hear Corey Hart wants to stay, and I think he would probably sign a team friendly deal. There's no way the Brewers would give him an Ethier type contract, and I don't think Hart would be holding out for that either. That said, I'm not sure of the wisdom for a team like Milwaukee to extend him when he's almost done with his prime years as a player. I really do like Corey Hart and feel like he's been underrated for some time, but I'm not sure if it's wise for the Brewers to make this move. They still have Mat Gamel as a possible option (though I think that's remote), and Hunter Morris might only be a year away from being ready to take over at first base.
  2. I was actually just coming to post about this as well. I think it's the right time. The last season, while I still enjoyed it, seemed to have more misses than hits as far as episodes. Most of the major loose ends in the series have basically been wrapped up already (Michael leaving, Jim and Pam's growth as a family, Andy taking over and getting together with Erin, etc). I really hope Steve Carrell makes some sort of cameo this season. Was kind of surprised we didn't get a "What's Michael up to?" episode this past year. Don't forget that there's supposed to be a Dwight spinoff at some point (apparently called "The Farm"), so the characters might not all be going away completely.
  3. SlapzilIa, is your goal to try and annoy as many people as possible on this forum? I know this was supposed to be humorous (I think) but you come off as really antagonistic in a lot of your posts.
  4. What I don't get is why the media makes such a big deal when an MLB player gets busted, but NBA and NFL guys are basically an afterthought as far as news stories.
  5. Now I'm really glad I'm going to that game!
  6. I'd probably be willing to "gamble" on the qualifying offer. From what I understand, he's looked pretty good down in the minors so far. Have to remember a guy like Ben Sheets sat out a whole season and then got $10 million from the A's. Marcum will definitely have value on the FA market. Marcum doesn't have Sheets' extensive injury history either.
  7. Ugh...the sarcasm in most of your posts seems to be really misdirected.
  8. Padres fans are probably buying 2013 season tickets in droves after this blockbuster signing.
  9. Hellweg already got shut down for the year. They want to limit his innings at this point. I would assume the same for Pena so I don't think he'll get called up either.
  10. Instead of blaming "the bullpen", shouldn't we be saying "K-Rod and Axford" at this point?
  11. Greinke hasn't been too stellar for the Angels so far. Over three starts he has a 5.68 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP.
  12. Not to go way off topic, but I'm really glad Houston is moving to the AL next year. They'll have a natural rival with the Rangers and we'll no longer be in a dumb six team division.
  13. Yes, Gamel was very bad at 3b. Almost as bad as Braun was.
  14. Exactly. I think someone got a whiff of a vague rumor and started speculating wildly. This idea makes no sense. Upton makes no sense for the Brewers even if they were contending right now.
  15. The best option at 1B might be to let Hart ride out his contract for one more year, let him go in FA, and have Morris step in to play in '14. I really don't see a spot for Gamel going forward. People are neglecting that he's had chances the last three years and gotten injured every season. I think he'll get traded during the off-season because he's quite simply expendable at this point. What I really don't get is people suggesting that Gamel should get a chance in RF, and relegate Aoki to the bench. Aoki has proven way more than Gamel at this point.
  16. Yeah, I just joked about that on Twitter...at least I think I was joking about it.
  17. I don't want him back, but I appreciate how well he hit in the post-season last year.
  18. Yeah, and the Brewers shouldn't be in the business of giving out gold watch contracts to aging players, let alone one with all sorts of red flags lIke HamIlton ís showing. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
  19. "I thought he was a Marlin now."
  20. Chad Moeller hitting for the cycle and Bill Hall's game winning home run in the same game, back in 2004. Either that or Dave Bush's win in the 2008 NLDS.
  21. If only he was...though I don't mind Joe Block as much as some around here.
  22. I'd say about a 6.5 for me. I think he got a great return between Greinke and Kottaras, but I would have liked to see either Ramirez or Hart traded. It seemed like a lot of teams were trying to find solid hitting middle of the order types, but Melvin apparently refused to shop either one. I can't really fault him for not being able to unload any pitching, though. Who is really going to want Wolf or K-Rod right now? Those guys might get moved this month, though.
  23. Can someone explain to me where Upton would play?
