  1. I'm not bugged at all that the old 27" TV the previous homeowners left behind in our basement will soon be replaced by a brand new plasma flat panel!
  2. I read yesterday that Hector Gomez was at one time a Top 100 ranked prospect. Injuries have hurt him. Sounds like he still has a lot of potential as a shortstop. Interesting pickup for the Brewers.
  3. Yeah, I bet Melvin hadn't thought about offering Greinke a long term deal until that guy gave his opinion.
  4. If I was a player on this team, I'd shut up, take advantage of any playing time opportunities, and try to win some ball games (or at least not lose in such embarrassing fashion).
  5. Ryan Braun not in the lineup due to a sore elbow from being hit by a pitch yesterday. Optimistic he'll play Friday, but we'll see.
  6. Between the bullpen and inconsistent offense, this team isn't capable of going on a run like that.
  7. Seeing SID last night on RAW was pretty awesome.
  8. I never really got everyone bagging on Braun's line of shirts. They are definitely not my thing, but they don't look any dumber than half the stuff I see a lot of 20 and 30-somethings wearing these days.
  9. Exactly. I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but I just don't believe they have the horses to go the distance this year. The offense and bullpen are just too inconsistent. I don't see this being a team capable of putting together even a 5-6 game win streak to get back into the playoff hunt.
  10. Has it actually been confirmed that they've offered him a contract like this? All I can find is a vague allusion from Bill Michaels, but that's it.
  11. But of course, would the Brewers feel the same way?
  12. +10 points for creativity, -100 for execution.
  13. You can totally tell the gamesmanship is already starting on the Greinke trade front. "He's not available," versus "He's not really an ace", etc. Really sounds reminiscent of the Roy Halladay situation from a couple years ago.
  14. My thoughts exactly. Nice sentiment, but I doubt he's going to be leaving his cushy gig at MLB Network in the near future.
  15. I haven't really been on top of the team's lower prospects lately, but I have to believe in the next couple years we might have our next 1B knocking on the door for an MLB call up. There's always the possibility of acquiring such a player in a trade if Melvin and Attanasio decide to sell this season. I just don't see the wisdom of extending Hart when he'll be on the tail end of his prime years, and I've been one of Corey Hart's biggest supporters the past couple years.
  16. Had four in ceiling speakers installed in our living room yesterday (two surrounds, and two back surrounds). Looking forward to watching some Blu-rays in 7.1, which I've never actually experienced before.
  17. I'll just say that with the depth the Brewers have accumulated in the OF, I don't see Hart being signed to another extension, and I don't see Gamel being moved out to RF either. Gamel is destined to be a throw-in with a trade, or simply DFAed at some point. I hate to be down on the guy, but long term I don't think he has a spot with the Milwaukee Brewers.
  18. I didn't mind Sutton as much as some. He brought some humor and fun to the booth at a time when the team still wasn't that great. That said, Anderson is a huge step up. BA has turned into an elite level TV guy, and one we'll probably be missing in a few short years if I had to guess.
  19. FWIW, we have had Charter for a long time in our household. At one point we were having issues similar to what you describe, especially on HD channels. I complained on an online forum, and one of their customer service reps PMed me, and set up a swap out of our HD/DVR box the very next day. No real issues since. Once in a very great while (I mean extremely rarely) I'll get a "the channel you selected will be available shortly", but that usually only lasts for a couple minutes at most. I feel like Charter has stepped up their game a lot in the past couple years, probably due to increased competition from AT&T U-Verse.
  20. I wonder if it's a calibration or setup issue. I really doubt it's the HDMI cable causing the issue. You might do a Google search for reviews of your home blu-ray player and see if others have any similar issues.
  21. I know that was a joke, but I'm pretty sure the DH can only be used for the pitcher now.
  22. It bothers me that many can state so "matter of factly" that Braun took steroids to recover from nagging injuries. Do you folks have some inside info you're not sharing?
  23. Eh...I think honestly Thornburg could use some polishing in AAA right now. This signing doesn't bother me much. Plus it sounds like Hernandez will mainly work out of the bullpen, where we need some help anyway.
  24. ROH is kind of fun, but I wish their TV show's production values hadn't gone back to mid '90s ECW quality after they left HDNet. Makes it sort of hard to watch to be honest. Also, it seems like every time I turn on their show, the Briscoes are on. I don't know why, but I've never cared for that tag team.
