  1. Of course Casey Close would laugh at either of those offers and hang up on Melvin, though.
  2. Maybe they'll revisit this mid-season, but it doesn't sound very good right now. I would like Greinke to stay a Brewer after this season, but I do agree with the sentiment that a Cain type contract may not be smart for Milwaukee.
  3. Yeah, I agree the prices are crazy, but that's how they are in pretty much any MLB ballpark these days. I will probably be buying very little inside the park this season. The prices have just gotten too out of line with what I consider a fair value.
  4. Alternate channel was working fine on Charter last night. Channel 323 (I think). It's standard def, but at least Bucks diehards could still watch the team lose by 20 last night.
  5. I don't think teams or even players really think like that. If he gets shelled in his next start and pulled after the second inning, does he suddenly get cheaper?
  6. Yeah, I would recommend taking that down. Just my two cents. I have referred people to the site, and they've asked if it's defunct because of the front page.
  7. Lousy game yesterday, but when your starting pitcher performs like that, what can you do? I thought the Brewers' record on Opening Day had been lousy, and another post in this thread confirmed that. I liked what I saw from the offense and most of the defense yesterday. Hopefully today's game with Greinke starting will be better.

  9. Good riddance to bad garbage, I say. I knew that guy wasn't going to last around here long with that sort of attitude. I have met many fine Cardinals fans in person, but for some reason a lot of the ones on the internet seem to act like that.
  10. Have to admit I teared up just a little bit at the end. How wonderful that you were able to share so many great times with your friend before he passed on.
  11. Let's get this thing going! It's Opening Day! Go Brewers! For those of you who will be at Miller Park today, have fun and don't act like Cubs fans. Here's Ron Roenicke's Opening Day lineup, via Mike Vassallo on Twitter: http://yfrog.com/hskmdunj:iphone

  13. I still say it gets done within the first six weeks of the season. It makes too much sense not too happen at this point, unless Greinke just demands ridiculous money or something.
  14. I have had US Cellular for years, and never any issues at Miller Park.
  15. I thought they were all pretty good, though I did think the RC one had been done before. Guess I was right.
  16. This is pretty funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtxo4BnYzro&feature=youtu.be
  17. I really do wonder if they simply panicked, thinking it would look bad for them to lose Votto to the Dodgers (or some other big market team). They're probably worried about declining attendance, so they wanted to "send a message" to the fans that they are trying to stay competitive. Just seems like one of those contracts that short term should be great, but long term could be a giant boat anchor.
  18. I doubt Greinke would have even accepted the trade to Milwaukee if he didn't at least have some interest in possibly staying long term. I don't think there's any way to point to him hiring on Casey Close and not thinking negotiations must be ongoing. Otherwise, I don't see why he would bother hiring an agent right now.
  19. Partly. Also, calling her mother in law "obese" and saying "I don't have cancer, I'm just fat," sort of tied into that.
  20. They went from making Betty sympathetic back to completely unsympathetic in one episode. Good stuff.
  21. My bet is that the Brewers will negotiate quickly with whomever he selects, and there will be an extension announcement within the first six weeks or so of the season.
  22. Sounds like the Marlins are keeping it classy down there. What a joke of a franchise.
  23. It's like people have forgotten how good Wolf has been for his duration with the Brewers. You'd think he was Jeff Suppan or something.
  24. I can't tell if you're being serious or not.
