  1. I get that most people aren't as obsessed as the folks on this forum. My point is that MLB should be taken to task over this, and ESPN should be the ones to do it since they originally broke the story about Braun's failed drug test in the first place.
  2. Yes, this. Exactly. As far as I can tell, these "rumors" about the Brewers pursuing Josh Hamilton are all based on one purely speculative piece out of Dallas. Nothing more.
  3. Apparently this already happened at Miller Park this morning: http://ht.ly/aUYjh The fun began at 5 a.m. as word spread online, on radio and television that the Brewers were hosting another collectibles giveaway, this time on the Miller Park grounds. On Sunday, the Chorizo, part of the Klement's Famous Racing Sausages, was absent from the sausage race. Where was the Chorizo? The answer became apparent at 5 a.m. Tuesday. A few hours earlier, dozens of Brewers employees began planting planting the Chorizo lawn ornaments in time for the 5 a.m. start. Media had been alerted ahead of time and were in place at 5 a.m. to watch the rush of fans entering the Molitor Lot, just north of I-94. By 5:45 a.m., cars were lined up along Story Parkway waiting to get into the parking lot. To avoid the problem of last year's giveaway, in which "Where's Bernie" lawn ornaments were scattered around Milwaukee County parks, setting off a hoarding binge, the Brewers imposed a limit of one per customer this time around.
  4. It's amazing that Braun isn't serving a suspension right now, given how rigged against him the entire process apparently was. MLB needs to be called out on this, but ESPN will never say a word so about 99% of baseball fans won't hear about this. I hope Shyam Das releases his opinion now, and that we get the real word on what happen. I'm really surprised that Bud Selig didn't do a better job handling this situation.
  5. We can definitely "afford" Zack Greinke, it's just a matter how much of a contract he is demanding and if its responsible to give him such an offer.
  6. He should be more of a situational guy rather than "the 7th inning guy," in my opinion.
  7. Week's x-rays came back negative, so that's good. I think he should still get a day or two off, though.
  8. Figures, I stayed awake until after the 12th inning, but passed out before Hart's walk off. Oh well, glad to see they got the win last night.
  9. I'm OK with both extensions. I think people expecting more from a mid market MLB GM and manager are just asking for unrealistic goals.
  10. It's worth a shot at this point.
  11. Doug Melvin just said on 620 that they talked with Lee, but "it's not going to happen."
  12. Maybe I missed it, but can anyone give a decent assessment on Maysonet's defense?
  13. They're going to have to call up the entire Nashville roster the way things are going.
  14. This call on Jerry Hairston from yesterday doesn't help make the umpires' case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=goZAKhjG15k#!
  15. Maybe they were all depressed about Mat Gamel or something. The Brewers deserved to lose yesterday, regardless of who was on the mound.
  16. I'd rather they try internal options like Green and Conrad first.
  17. Sounds like Green may get a shot at replacing Gamel, according to Buster Olney. https://twitter.com/#!/Buster_ESPN/status/197834370814455810
  18. Disappointing to hear about Gamel. We'll have to wait and see if this is something where he could come back in a few weeks, or if it's worse.
  19. I really am not trying to defend Suppan or the Brewers by saying this, but if you look at the contracts given to pitchers that same off-season, they basically paid market rate for a pitcher of his caliber. Hopefully it's a mistake that's been learned from.
  20. Ditto. Congrats on the impending move at any rate.
  21. In 89 ABs, he has a line of .180/.318/.348/.666. Clearly he's struggling. Is it just a matter of a slow start for him, or is it time for Roenicke to move him down in the order or possibly give him a day off here or there?
  22. This. Though I'm not going to get angry about Ishikawa getting a few starts here and there like some fans.
  23. Hopefully he is okay. He looked like he was limping fairly badly in the dugout now.
