  1. [ "I don't know how the fans are going to be come Wednesday, we'll find out, but I think I did pretty good when I was here," he told Arizona's Web site. "I didn't leave as a free agent or anything. I didn't do a Carlos Lee or anything, let's put it that way." ] I wish Sharpie no SPECIFIC harm.
  2. [ Arroyo's good, but would he be better than Gallardo/Villanueva? ] Probably not, but Gallardo's going to have an innings cap this year, and Villanueva is really valuable in the pen. Either the Brewers need to get an impact arm for the rotation or the pen, with Villanueva going/staying wherever that arm isn't.
  3. [ This has been bandied about a lot but Dunn would be a short term rental for anyone who wants him, and he has no defensive value at all. And his average is poor; he's in possession of no speed... But that power... ] and that .360 OBP

  5. [ I am sorry for posting this. I am a Brewers season ticket holder, and tonight we decided to try and show support towards a guy who made Brewers baseball interesting when the Brewers weren't that interesting. That's all. I will be quiet from now on. ] Don't be sorry, it's a good discussion to have.
  6. [ This just in - the Brewers are in the middle of a pennant race. Give your ticket to somebody who cares about what's going on on the field, and sit in the parking lot with a bucket on your head and get tanked. ] That was a pretty rude post: - Assuming the guy doesn't care about what's going on. - Assuming the guy's going to get "tanked" in the parking lot. - "This just in" From the "three strikes" post pinned to the top of the forum: Warning-worthy behavior includes, but is not limited to: ? Swearing or attempting to skirt the cuss filter; damn, ass, hell, and piss are currently allowable, abuse them and you'll lose them ? Baiting and/or flaming ? Flagrant political, religious, or sexual comments ? Disrespect and/or condescension towards fellow posters ? Crass and unsavory behavior ? Posting vulgar/obscene pictures and links ? Chronic discouraged behavior; excessive use of emoticons, constant one-line posts, etc.
  7. [ Seriously, not much has been better this year than seeing them give up on Barrett. Let's see, trade Barrett for Bowen, then give Bowen & more to get Kendall....OOPS! ] In fairness, it's arguable that the prospect they got in the Barrett/Bowen trade is better than the prospect they gave up to get Kendall.
  8. [ The guy still gets a ton of info. ] He does, and he gets even more bad info.
  9. http://www.red-hot-mama.com/images/uploads/TB.gif Sorry, I had to throw that out there. I never had a problem with Cubs fans until they started playing well. Since then, a ton of bandwagon fans hopped on and dumbed down the fanbase. There's still Cubs fans out there that would make me not want to wretch.
  10. I went to THE univerisity of wisconsin - whitewater, and gradutated in May of 2000 with a degree in Management Computer Systems (Asian Studies minor)... I worked in the computer lab(s) intermittently.
  11. Generally speaking, when your sig is longer than your post, I find it less than desirable.
  12. [ Anyway, about Braun being cocky, they're right. There's an article from earlier this week about Braun being surprised by his success, and he says, "clearly I'm extremely confident in my abilities..." ] I guess I'm fine with it. It's OK that he knows he's good.... It also means that when he goes in a slump he probably won't start to doubt himself, ala Cirillo. As long as he doesn't start showing up other players, it doesn't bother me a bit.

  14. "It?s easy to grin / When your ship comes in / And you?ve got the stock market beat. / But the man worthwhile, / Is the man who can smile, / When his shorts are too tight in the seat."
  15. Maybe they should have thrown in another prospect for a time machine.
  16. [ It like we are on Battlestar Galactica. ] So say we all.
  17. [ I never understood that H0FFY claim. All the forums are open for reading without even logging in. ] Apparently, the deal is that if your IP is banned, you can't post OR read. I had no idea this was the case until I got an irate email out of the blue.... and it was especially weird because it came on a night where I hadn't banned any IP addresses. *shrug*
  18. [ Looks like he may have temporarily given it a rest for the evening. ] Looks like his account got deleted. That means he'll have to wait 24 hours before trolling again, by MLB.com's rules. [ Do we really need to worry about accommodating people banned from the site like 2 years ago? ] I suppose not... although I did unban hoffy's IP, so it's irrelevant now anyway.
  19. [ Are you going to make it a rule that new users cannot register via an anonymous proxy...? ] When I develop my own forum, I will.... but until then, ezboard logs all IP address. When any user posts, the IP is shown and can be reverse DNS'd, exposing the fact that it's an proxy'd IP (not that a simple Google search wouldn't reveal it on an anon proxy list as well). Some phpBB modder made some code to do it automatically. I'll have to incorporate it into the custom software when we go that route. I suppose I could just ban all anonymous proxy IP addresses... but then I'll get Hoffy harrassing me via email, telling me how he can't read the site so he can bash it over at JSOnline.
  20. [ I don't get why he doesn't just use Super Genius Proxy Magic 3000 and post here instead of repeating threads there. ] Maybe he should realize that when I do a DNS lookup on all first-time posters and ban the ones that are using an anonymous proxy, his little "game" is up. OH NO!... NO MORE 3133+ H4XOR!
  21. [ I don't know why we're so interested in this drama, but it's got some sort of chain-car-wreck effect on us all: We don't want to look, but it's so messed up it's mesmerizing. ] It's great, it's like whack-a-mole with threads.
  22. [ There was a thread last year where someone claimed to be having an ongoing affair with Brian. I kid you not. ] It wasn't Khalid was it? He said he wasn't going to make it public. Thread 4 is in play...
  23. Looks like thread #2 got deleted. But here comes thread #3! Now he's quoting threads over here so he can respond to them there. We're so pwned.
  24. [ This looks exactly like HOFFY and the JSOnline message board. He complains continuously about being banned from this site and eventually every other poster hates his guts. ] Yeah, I know, it's funny. When people get banned, they go off and say how horrible the site is and how horrible we are, meanwhile either begging me to be allowed back or trying to sneak back in by some other means (anonymous proxy).... as if a proxy could hide their sociopathic behavior.
