  1. Woohoo! That dribbler by Graffy put him back above Dave Bush in the OPS column. I'm opening up a bottle of champagne...
  2. I've been drilled here a few times for suggesting it. I'm glad they seem to be thinking about it in the dugout. I understand that they don't want to be moving him all over the place, but playing infield for 3 or 4 games isn't going to kill him. Who knows, maybe getting back to the familiarity of the infield will help him snap out of his little hitting funk. Anyway, the team said he could be used there in an emergency. Weeks, Braun, and Koskie are all injured or just coming off an injury. That, combined with losing streak and the putrid hitting of Counsell and Graffanino officially makes this worthy of "emergency" status if you ask me.
  3. Nice to see Gross out of the lineup again today. Seeing how he's 3rd on the team in OBP, I'm sure Ned doesn't want too many guys getting on and clogging up the bases. For goodness sake, just put Hall in the infield for a couple games, call it an "emergency", and assure him he's still an everyday CF. Having Gross/Hall instead of Hall/Graffy sure would be nice. Graffanino is now trailing Dave Bush in OPS.
  4. Pretty sure it's the vent thread. Let the guy or gal vent. I was being sarcastic. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
  5. yup, i'm pretty pissed right now...and i'm real worried that the Astros will catch us by next sat. Oh, stop it. What, do you expect the team to win every game??? We are still 25-12. Stop complaining... We are still 25-13. And it's May. We're ahead of where we figured... We are still 25-14. No big deal... We are still 25-15. 10 games over .500... We are still 26-17. Nothing to worry about. This team is still great! We've scored 18 runs in the past 7 games, and the only way we can score is with solo homeruns. Counsell and Graffanino are both starting every game, but we're definitely going to win the division easily. Stop complaining...

  7. Francisco Cordero: Pitches 6 straight days, then doesn't pitch at all for 7 straight days (and counting). I'm sure that's real great for his arm. Hey, maybe Ned is trying to break his personal record from last year of going 10 straight days without using his best relief pitcher!
  8. Well, once it wasn't a "save situation," Cordero automatically is no longer available to pitch apparently. We're lucky to still be in this game considering Spurling was in there. Yost has done a pretty good job this year overall, but his bullpen decisions still make zero sense to me, as always. I can't figure out any good reason why Shouse starts that inning, and opens the floodgates.
  9. It's awesome that Kevin Mench is playing over Gabe Gross against another right-handed pitcher. Mench is awesome against RHP. I like it when guys get playing time they don't deserve, just so they stay happy and don't whine.
  10. I'm already sick of Craig Counsell. He's on pace to get 450 AB's this season. That's almost twice as many as Gross figures to get. Yuck. When exactly is the earliest we can bring up Braun without losing a cheap year?...
  11. OK...so why watch before 8:30 or so? To see some vintage Marquis Grissom?
  12. I completely forgot that Charlie Hayes ever donned a Brewer uniform. Wow.
  13. Recently rented The Illusionist. Overall, I thought it was pretty decent. The performances of Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti are (expectedly) very good, and make the movie worth watching. I also thought the color and cinematography was interesting, and did a good job of setting the mood for the film. The storyline wasn't real smooth, and it was a little obvious. Still, it's worth checking out IMO.
  14. I'm getting the same thing as Hawing. It happens everytime I go to the user sign-in screen. I noticed it starting a few days ago. And, like Hawing said, it's usually for Vonage. I'm using IE right now. It usually blocks mosts pop-ups, but not this one for some reason.
  15. I won't be able to play this year, as I am moving out of state in February. So my spot is open. I had a great time last year, and I wish you guys the best of luck in 2007. I'll be checking out the results each week and rooting for the team! Have fun.
  16. I'd be wondering who's going to make the trip to the DL first Jason Schmidt pitched 200+ innings in 3 of the last 4 years. He has started at least 29 games every one of the past 5 seasons. Ben Sheets has made 166 starts out of 195 possible starts (assuming 34 starts per season) since he came into the league. Neither one is by any means injury-plagued. I'm not sure where people come up with this stuff.
  17. Radio stations that play Christmas music 24/7, starting in early November. That one song, Lips of an Angel. It sucks. The fact that I actually have to care about and listen to what's on FM radio, since my CD player was stolen out of my car (and living in Milwaukee, is guaranteed to get stolen again if I get a new one).
  18. What bothers me more than any other traffic related experience: During heavy freeway traffic, when people getting onto the freeway go zooming past everybody all the way down their merge lane (passing up many opportunities to actually join the freeway traffic), then get stuck at the end of the merge lane and everybody else needs to slow down to let that person in. You haven't found a secret, traffic-free lane that nobody else sees! It's the merge lane! It ends! Join traffic when you see an opening instead of trying to get ahead of everyone and then getting stuck! I believe this is one of the primary causes of freeway traffic jams. Whew. It felt good to get that out.
  19. 2006 World Series Champions: St. Louis Cardinals They're really not even a very good team. I'm insanely jealous right now.
  20. we would need to go in the night before and start threads such as: Don't forget about the newest up-and-coming topic which figures to break out into total madness at any moment now, "Tony Gwynn Jr. will be an awesome lead-off hitter in 2007 because he's fast."
  21. He's got the rare bf.net T-shirt with the "Worst site" statement on the back. Okay, now you've sparked my curiousity. Would somebody mind explaining what this "Worst site" statement was and what its origins are? Don't be shy or worried about telling me either. I assure you, I CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!
  22. Whoa. You could have at least supplied a good reason as to why you absolutely hate all of us. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  23. Only one way to fix that http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif The only problem is I'd look more like Kurt Rambis than Ho Grant. Perhaps I could pull of the Gagne look though... http://www.endscore.com/blogimages/gagne_eric0118.jpg
  24. I've tried about 6 different kinds too, and nothing works. It especially sucks for sports. That's exactly how I am. I was on the Brewerfan softball team this year, and could barely make it through a 1-hour game with my contacts. I had to switch to my glasses a few times, which I don't like to do because of the sweat factor involved with sports. I'm also afraid I'll break them if I wear them while playing sports. If I ever accumulate some money, I might like to try Lasik, but I'm afraid that if I do, my eyes might always bother me in a similar way to when I wear contacts.
  25. I nominate Corey Hart for player of the game, for getting picked off and allowing Jenkins to start with a fresh 0-0 count. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Seriously though, Jenkins is really getting hot. Too little, too late most likely, but it's still encouraging to see that he has the ability to be an offensive force, since we probably have to keep him.
