I reacted to the comment and It is not just me . The owner said the team is not serious about winning championships. It threw my entire view of all things Brewers into tailspin and I am just dealing with the backlash of the gravity of what he said. I am sorry. Why are we pretending this is just me? It is mainstream news. The fact it is not being talked about more is what is mind blowing. Had any sports coach said this it would be the top sports story everywhere. The fact an owner said the team he runs is not serious about winning is what I am reacting to. I feel cheated. They took everything away in one sentence. I wanted nothing more than to believe this team has something up its sleeve to get past the $ clubs with player development and smart moves. Then the guy who owns the team said"FOOLED YOU." and I am just reacting to that. I wanted to bring the fanbase together this season around a great young ball club. It felt that the owner took that away from me before spring training games. I really feel strongly about this. The only thing a Owner cannot say about any franchise is that they are not serious about winning Championships. It's like going to a fully clothed strip club and wondering when the dancers are going to start the show that will never begin. I swear I am not even trying to be offensive. What was said is no small thing in 2025 when the idea of competitive professional sports has never been more in question. If it was 20 years ago this guy would have been on every sports show being bashed for saying something so defeatist. It really should matter to everyone who supports this team with their wallets that they are actually trying to win despite the odds against it. If they are not this is just a show. I am really not trying to fight anyone here nor am I trying to divide any of the fanbase. I felt let down by the guy who runs my baseball team in a way I have never felt after a statement by any sports CEO. Im sorry it offends you. I wish he had not said it but saying I am wrong for bringing up how crazy what the man said is and reacting to it is NOT on me. I am just reacting to the news. This is new for me too and I wish he had not said that so I could keep stumping the roster I believed was really building to a goal of winning it all. Why don't you feel this way? Why does this not bother you as it does the thousands of people currently talking about this online across America for the last 2 days since what he said made the news? This is a real topic that needs conversation because what he says has insane consequences that I do not think you are grasping right now and even if you believe I need to "get help" because of what that man said . He made this situation . You may not think it is a big deal but there are tons of media outlets that are printing the opposite opinion you are taking there and I am NOT crazy for being one who is upset by it all. I AM SICK OF ALWAYS LOSING ! Why aren't you? https://www.msn.com/en-in/sports/mlb/brewers-ownership-straight-up-admits-they-re-not-serious-about-bringing-a-title-to-milwaukee/ar-AA1zo7NO?cvid=4830b4b5f9a146dc93df1216d2f4ba59&ocid=winp2fptaskbar -

Two days ago I had a totally different view of this. I thought they were managed to really break through the money teams and had something cooking here to actually change the league for the better by stepping up and pushing back on money. The guy who runs the team just told anyone who thought this that is not really going to ever happen here. I am sorry but that is a kick in the gut and if you do not see why that could sully a season before it starts you are way to comfortable with losing all the time. I was the most positive fan on the web right up and until the owner of the Brewers openly admitted he was stringing us all along and really is not worried about ever winning any World Series here. That offended me because I spend THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars following this team each year. I have been since I was 15 years old because I simply want to win a World Series here. I mean he could have said almost anything else and it would not have had that effect but for a franchise that has never actually won anything ever saying what he said is CRAZY. It should offend you as it did me because it is US who are funding this entire thing and if he is not taking winning seriously why should we? To call me mentally ill because what he said took the wind out of my sails however is not okay either ... but come on man. Are you serious? The Brewers did not make me miserable in fact I have never been more juiced up in any offseason in my life as I was this entire winter. Read what I have posted all offseason if you doubt it... I am not the harp on the Brewers guy. I believe in the team. I love the group of player here and yet when Matt A said what he said it felt like getting punched in the stomach. Like everything I am fighting for or working to build within the fanbase is nothing but a waste of time. If you read anything I posted this offseason my message has been "Brewers first" I have gone to battle with so many fans who were voicing the problems they saw with the team not spending money and the typical complaints to try to get all the fans to BELIEVE this championship thing is possible. What I heard is the owner of the franchise tell me in no uncertain words it is not and that all I was trying to accomplish with the fanbase was a huge waste of my time and attending 100 games per year is also a waste of my money because what I am waiting for probably won't ever happen. But for someone to judge how I feel about it after what I have invested in this team in my lifetime however is kinda a jerk position to take from your end if you ask me though. I want nothing more than to win a Series here before I am dead like Bob Uecker who lived his entire life for this baseball team and never got to see it win . I am sick of losing man and what he said was more of an acceptance of losing and that makes me sad. I cannot tell you why without ranting but I can tell you it bothered me and I should not have to be accused of mental illness because the Franchise let the fans down before the season even started. I cannot make you understand my position if you do not see it this way. If you are okay with constantly losing that is something I cannot swallow the same way you can. I am sorry if that is offensive to you but it does NOT make me mentally ill! I do not care if the Brewers spend more money as long as they have another plan in place to win championships despite the lack of spending. I thought they were doing that exact thing and was doing my best in reporting that for years in the face of RAGE by other Brewers fans who have simply given up on this franchise. I believed this team was building something well beyond what we had ever made here with the current group they have in Farms and in the MLB. I believed in this roster more than any Brewers roster ever fielded in my lifetime. I still do think highly of the players and Management even the GM Matt Arnold is someone I really believe is top notch. I believed this team was poised for big things until two days ago when the team owner told us all that he wants us to keep going to games but getting to a World Series probably won't be happening here. I have never had the wind kicked out of me by a owners words like that. I am sorry that you do not understand why this is a big moment in the history of Brewers baseball but being told "it is never going to happen" by the guy who owns the team was a lot to take for this guy. But again the fact I now feel this way does not make me mentally ill . -

Yeah why not be happy the owner of the team said winning World Series Games is not in his job description . I don't know about you but I am sick to death of losing. If you are not I guess you are happy with failure and I am not at this point. This team has not won anything real EVER and yet we keep funding the enterprise. Investing in a game that has over 160 games in a summer takes commitment and belief the team is trying to win it all . Matt just told everyone they are not trying to win those type of games and are really only here to entertain the kids. Sorry if that is okay for you but it is not for me. -

Yet is was reported last season he put the weight on his upper body. So I never trust anyone who reports size =output before a season. They are all pro athletes so they all look like big guys to me. Even Caleb Durbin at 5'6'' looks like a tank. So I can never tell. -
If we are only allowed to speak about topics that Brewers Fanatic approves you should list what we are allowed to talk about at the header so we do not step outside of what you want to talk about I do not know what is and is not allowed to speak on and am always getting moved or erased and want to avoid this . Where are the topic rules we are supposed to know ?

“Is my job to win a World Series," Attanasio said, “or is my job to provide a summer of entertainment and passion and a way for families to come together?" This is really what this guy believes?.. No amount of explanation or redemption here. The President just tanked the 2025 season in one swoop ! Sorry My Attanasio .. I AM SICK OF LOSING EVERY SINGLE SEASON! This quote makes me not want to put in the time to watch baseball. I can entertain myself with much better looking people than a summertime of baseball players if we are not serious about winning the World Series . I am so sick to death of not getting their it could make me puke. If this is what this guy believes man it really sunk my entire attitude about the Brewers moving into 2025. If this guy thinks we are watching baseball for Family time he is completely sideways! I want to win a World Series. How long are we going to be told this team is broke when the truth is far from that and pretend it is real so rich people can get rich while we sit on team that has not won anything real EVER . The 1980s and 1990s were HORRORS. Winning enough to get to the playoffs only to be out after one series time and time again is not fun either. It is less terrible than the former but it IS STILL LOSING! I grew up on meaningful quotes that taught us how to live life and win! What this President just fed us was the biggest most horrifying statement in the history of any sports team, He the Brewers want your money fans but they really are not aiming to win anything real. That makes me want to throw up and IS NOT the message to take into the first Spring Training game of the season. The fact it is being downplayed by the media to roll cover for what he said already is pretty spot on . This guy just said "spend money on the Brewers fans but do not expect to win anything real because that is not our job as Brewers ." I have never heard a statement more damaging to any sports teams brand that what this man just said in front of the entire world. "Being part of a *team is no different than being a part of any other organization—an army, a political party. The objective is to win championships, to beat the other guy every time you play them." "Our society, at the present time, seems to have sympathy for the misfit, the ne’er-do-well, the maladjusted, the criminal, the loser. It is time to stand up for the doer, the achiever, the one who sets out to do something and does it. The one who recognizes the problems and opportunities at hand, and deals with them, and is successful, and is not worrying about the failings of others. The one who is constantly looking for more to do. The one who carries the work of the world on his shoulders. The leader." “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.” “Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.” See the difference? My goodness if you cannot say anything positive about the prospects of this team winning World Series just day before Baseball starts up again you should probably not take Media questions. Just saying. I know I feel less about the Brewers after hearing this than I did before . If they are not serious about winning what the hell am I doing here? No he did not get misquoted . No he actually does believe this and we are all suckers. There is no real effort to win championships here unless this team gets insanely lucky someday and wins despite the ownership not caring if they go or not. As long as the Brewers are pretending to be competitive that is more than good enough because it keeps ticket sales at record levels as they have been for going on 13 straight seasons. As long as the Brewers make a playoff and compete in the Central NL that is more than profitable enough for Matt and that is all that matters. Winning is not important in Milwaukee. Only the appearance of winning is so ticket sales continue to make him rich while we get to continue to watch 160+ games per season and never get to join in the party . I am not listening to those who throw cover for the bad people in charge of baseball. MAtt proved he is not there to help families either. He is there to make himself money and we get to all suck on that as we make him rich with no hope of ever winning anything real ever. THE BREWERS ARE NOT BROKE ! They are lying to everyone about the money they generate and you only need to look at their PUBLIC profits(not reported MLB revenue)to see the truth here. Matt is only worried about pretending to be competitive. He really only cares that the Brewers are making him money and his net value since buying the team has increase by double 4x. His net value at the end of 2025 is projected to increase from $700 million and change to $900 million by seasons end as long as they keep up the facade that the Brewers are in the hunt. I was willing to accept that in 2025 the reasons they were not spending money was because they liked the roster. When in truth they were not spending because they truly do not believe they have to when to keeping the money pouring in and increase his coffers win or lose. I won't be talking about this anymore but it bothered me and it should bother all fans everywhere. I went from the most positive fan on the earth to the one who remembered why I quit watching baseball a couple decades back all in one sentence by a team owner. I really thought this team turned a corner in that playoff to build something real here but Matt A made me see things as if they are and not as I want them to be with one dumb statement he should have kept to himself. Sorry Matt I can take my family to the BEACH. The ONLY reason we watch baseball is to see our Championships realized and if our family comes together over that it's a win win but none of us are going to games to have family time. We can do that anywhere. We come to watch the Brewers because we are ready to win a World Series. Had the Dodgers owner said this during this offseason after winning World Series it would not be so bad. The fact the Brewers owner said it makes it unforgivable. For a franchise that is one of the rare few in sports who has never won anything real at all ever since induction what he said was confirmation of a truth that is ugly and evil. We are all just engines for profiting one person. It confirms we are not apart of helping a team win Championships and only a constantly income for people who are not serious about winning and who do not want to spend that profit they make on anyone who is not them. Winning is not important to him. So why is is important to anyone in the organization from the players to the managers? Why is it important to us the fan? One thing I know for sure I am not running cover for this franchise anymore. When this type of statement is made it is a slap in our face and taking it as a fan should never be accepted. HE needs to appologize publicly and he needs to make everyone believe we are here to win Series and that he was wrong in his thinking NOT that he said something misquoted or misunderstood to cover up that statement but a open realization that is an unacceptable viewpoint for someone who heads a team. If he does not do this and fans accept the lie this was not what he meant we deserve to never win. We have no power as fans besides where we spend money . If they are not serious about this whole thing why should we be?

"Do You Even Lift Bro?" - Sal Frelick (kinda)
jesusoftheapes replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I do not think it is something he started 3 months ago . Sal was already getting bigger at the end of 2024 and had already added about 10lbs through 2024 in season. So the idea of him adding 14 lbs offseason is not too far fetched. Where he added the weight however is lost on me because he looks no different and 25 lbs of added weight would show up in truth. If you remember last year they all told us Brice Turang added 15 lbs of muscle before last season. Yet in truth he looked about the same as 2023 Brice Turang. He just had changed his swing and was poised to put more homers on the tally ticket. When he ended up not hitting a bunch of homers the story of him adding size went out the window and no one brought it up after the first week of Spring. This year Sal has the greenlight to hit homers by management . That would be a much more believable story but the Brewers do not roll that way and do not want to be seen as the reason these players we want to hit more dingers are not hitting them . Most of the lack of Sal (unlike Turang) hitting strong balls is the Brewers purposely using him to work the pitchers into long counts and getting himself on base . They will never admit this fact but it is by design at least in Sal's case so far. -
"Do You Even Lift Bro?" - Sal Frelick (kinda)
jesusoftheapes replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
They said this about Turang last season and I saw the same guy only with a more professional swing for his bat speed . He looked the same size to me when I saw him last spring. This spring Sal is supposed to be the body change. They guy who took the muscle building class in the offseason and absolutely stayed away from the PED. They say 25lbs of build he may have added and yet when I see him in truth he is a lot like the Sal who jacked that tanker against the Mets playoff time last season. I think the Brewers have that media in pocket so much that when they want something in the news like "we expect Sal to hit more homeruns now" they have them make up a story that supports that realization. So we are expected to believe Sal put on 25 pounds in one offseason which would be incredible for human body development and probably a detrimental amount of weight for a guy his size to carry into a season after not having this size before. Adding 25 lbs to a human frame is enough to really change a person. If it is fat 25 lbs of fat can make a skinny guy looks really portly . If it is muscle It is enough to change a person's speed negatively but it is also enough weight to make a guy who could pick up 200lbs flat off the ground into someone who can lift 400 off the ground. In muscle in the case of Sal the difference in adding 25 lbs of jacked man meat should prove to give him many more MPH on his swing and his contact should carry massive increases in power . But 25 lbs of weight added seems near impossible for a frame like Sal to add in any offseason and when I see Sal I do not see that weight on him so I do not know where this reported bump in size is coming from in truth. If Sal hits 10 or more Home runs everything being reported now will make sense. However if the Brewers expect him to step up and hit more Homers in 2025 and that is really what they want the public at large to be thinking about when it comes to Sal( like they were doing from the TV booth at the end of 2024 when they said Sal would soon be hitting more of them) they should just say that and not make up reasons for people to thing this . If they are green lighting Sal (which is what had been holding his homerun numbers back not ability to hit them) and allowing him to swing for points and not for working pitch counts that would be just as interesting as a made up story about him adding a insane amount of weight he never actually added. Matt Owner Boy (proof the Packers are the only team in sports who got it right) told us how much he cares about winning so everything is a negative today and everyday after because as long as he is the big man there is no effort to make winning World Series in play here. So why do I care? He literally ruined baseball AND IT WAS NOT A MISQUOTED STATEMENT! He meant that exact thing and there is no amount of cover or shade to throw to make it not have been said. Owner Boy just ruined baseball for anyone who is sick of losing. That should be the mass majority of us BTW. But at least he can clear $900 million in his own personal value by the end of 2025. His $200 million dollar profit is projected to come off Our paying for Brewers tickets, gear, and watching baseball on TV so he gets paid more money and his kids kids can make good in their own generation. The rest of us can just keep paying for losing and like it. -

This guy ruined the entire 2025 season before it even started. I hate everything now. He literally spoiled the entire party. The guy is a total fool and I did not think this 2 days ago until he spoke the quiet part out loud. I post this topic before anyone else. They pulled my post because I put W and T and F in the title putting it behind the other post. Sorry it confused so many people. I am trying to pull them all now but it made me upset and I use the internet to vent. Do not take it personal because I swear am not yelling at anyone. Well anyone but the owner. Sorry I am still venting. -

making excuses for inexcusable is why this team never wins. He is sucking the money right out of our wallets and telling us to like it. Sorry he did not misspeak he said exactly what he meant and it means the Brewers are here just to lose for other teams accomplished seasons . I did not just "misread" and he said it VERY proud and loud and meant exactly what he said. Screw any professional team who thinks winning Championships is not the goal and any fanbase dumb enough to cheer for a team who is there to take up space. Sorry I am sick to death of losing! If they are not serious about winning why should I be? It was not a misquote, It was not wrong speak, He said the exact thing he meant to say and he really believed it when he said it. Stop making excuses for bad ideas! That is how we got to this point without winning anything between 1969 and today. -

Baseball players fighting for the death of this sport to make sure they get the most money possible when it is their turn has infected this sport now for so long thinking anything positive will ever change is a laugh. Soto is not worth that payday. Willy Adames IS NOT worth what he made in baseball . Bregman got $40 million plus per season and you want to argue he should have been paid more ? I am going to let you in on a big secret here ... THE BREWERS ARE NOT BROKE! They are 100% lying to the fans about how much profit they take in yearly and rank 19th in all sports in yearly profits. They have had record attendance for going on 13 seasons in a row and have the 3rd highest ratio of creating new fans every season in all the MLB. The only reason they are not spending money on players is because they are too busy buying 150k bobble heads each season for the fans who pay $11 bucks per beer in a BREWERS themed ball park. The Brewers being broke is the biggest lie ever told. Do not buy it for one more minute. This team may not make Dodger money and it never will but make no mistake this team is banking hundreds of Millions of dollars each season off what we pay for each season. The lie starts from the fact baseball committed suicide about 15 or 20 years ago and lost over 60% of its entire fanbase because of the lack of fairness in this sport and the money teams were holding over other clubs in baseball so nothing happened that was not expected. The reports of the Brewers and most MLB teams struggling to make money is nothing more than a call to force some kind of NFL /NBA profit sharing system not to correct the problems that have alienated fans from wanting to watch baseball. Even if they got a profit sharing system in place do not expect teams like the Brewer to claim it fixed the issues they say keep them from spending money on player payroll. The Owner told us all what he thought of his job here and said winning championships is not the aim of the Brewers . He only wants to win just enough to keep the profits high anything beyond that would cost too much and cut into his profits and that won't do. After he said that yesterday I just do not know if I care at all anymore. I have never been more dejected by a team than I am right now. He said winning championships is not important. Just him making profits is . -
His real life success seems to be being underspoken while his accomplishments in truth do not reach the hype you are hearing about him now. so this has to be a prospect worm dangle. Building up the prospect to make them seem more valuable in trades that could be dealt in the coming months. Who knows ? The Owner informed us that winning is not the aim . So why do I care anymore . I still cannot believe he said those words out loud. Mind blowing.

No but we can invite him to play a bunch in Spring Training to drive up his value on trade markets around baseball . I heard his name way back with the Garrett Crochet sweepstakes. Rumors said they were trying to package him in that purposed deal to the White Sox when they were trying to get him in over the Winter meeting period. So I think this is to get more exposure more than any actual challenge to the top of the list players who can play 1st base.

“Is my job to win a World Series," Attanasio said, “or is my job to provide a summer of entertainment and passion and a way for families to come together?" Edit: I guess we are not allowed to have our own public opinion on this . So be it. -
The Brewers need more power. I have heard this since Prince left. I do not believe it but i hear it a lot. what the Brewers are proving is twofold. One they have plenty of power in their ranks and two they win without it and that is a good thing. Mitchell, Sal, and Turang are all on the cusp of entering into that field and will develop more power. Chourio,Yelich, William and Haase all have power to burn and there are many others on this roster who can provide power and let the ones who are not power players THRIVE without it. in 2025 it blows my mind this needs to be said but this is what Baseball has devolved into that the only thing fans want is power. The proof that power is overrated is the Brewers. Getting on base is the most important thing about baseball and the Brewers do this in spades. Power hitting is fun and all but it is NOT the measure of a baseball team . Runs scored is . There are many ways to score runs and making a pitcher work is more important than hitting him out of the yard one time or another every couple games. Power baseball teams like the Twins and Yard Birds proved why this thinking is dumb. When the cold streak hits these teams are helpless and lose. Teams who are not built off the homerun like the Brewers and Indians are teams who whether that storm best because they score even when homers are not the norm. The teams who are not designed to hit home runs to win are the teams who win the most games. Even the Yankees who were World Series good in 2024 had moments in that season where things simply did not work and they lost a ton of games in short time until they got back to hitting again. They got it together before it tanked them but many teams tank off this Big Ball thinking because maintaining power is the hardest thing for a TEAM to do. Just get on base and be aggressive when you get there and you do not need constant power hitters to win games. The 2024 Brewers had plenty of power. 2025 should prove to be even more that . The fact they build the team to get runs without the need to power through a ball is why this team is so good.

2025 Brewers Prospect Preview: Blake Burke
jesusoftheapes replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
Blake Burke is one of the wildest prospect I have ever been part of as a fan. I watched Burke by accident last season and was super impressed by him a Tennessee when I watched only to really get excited when the Brewers then drafted him. My brother and I on a board TV day started watching college baseball playoff series and tourneys and Tennessee happened to be a major piece of airtime. WE saw a lot of Tennessee baseball and Burke was THE Star of that baseball program. Much like Nebraska's Gabe Swanson this year I saw Burke as the for sure MLB prospect to draft in 24' . The fact I got to watch him dominate as a hitter and defensive 1st basemen in live time is rare for prospects who get picked by the Brewers in the past . So me getting to see him play college live was a crazy coincidence I am happy to see work out for my baseball team. Blake Burke is going to be a great player for this organization and he totally fixes the constant question mark at 1st base the Brewers love to bring into every single season lately. Burke should lock down 1st for this team for a long time when he gets himself ready for the Bigs. -
Sir it is all how you look at this . Those are defining moments in this franchise pursuit of history . Every other exit from the playoffs was a "back the the drawing board" offseason. That is NOT what we got in 2024 when that game ended. All I felt after Williams blew it was that WE HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS ! We were not outclassed in that playoff unlike every other playoff loss we took since 18'. We were the better team and we showed it right up and until the Mets seemingly knew every pitch Devin threw before he threw it and forced themselves over us at the end because of this seemingly magic preconception. ( I think they cheated... I cannot prove it but I watched that entire series time and time again. Jonboy Media said Williams tipped his pitches while that was happening in live time and I tended to believe him until I watched the film closer. He was not tipping his pitches and the Mets still seemed to know what pitches he was throwing before he threw them. ) Anyways that topic is for another day . My point is this. Those hits WERE a huge moment in Brewers history ! We should NOT feel defeated or lost because of that series finish and should be very excited for what is to come off that. It was not a win but it was a battle that was living proof the Brewers draft/acquire youngsters and develop system is working better than many of the bought and paid for rosters of baseball in 2025. It showed that the Brewers can play with the Big Money clubs when the lights are brightest and that our young talent is very talented. So many fans were insanely dejected after the 2024 seasons end and it was a hard pill to swallow yet it was not a low moment in anyway for this franchise. It was a loss and nothing more in a very close game which ended in a way that did not expose any holes in the Brewers game that better teams could exploit. I want all of you who felt that way to rethink how you all see things because 24' was a GREAT season to build from and should be looked at with PRIDE and not disappointment. The 2024 Crew showed that the modern MLB team building model is flawed and that there are other ways of building a contender despite what the talking heads who cover baseball say. The Brewers proved that you can build a contender without a billion dollar payroll or Moneyball framework . A focus on simply acquiring talented via the draft/signing of young prospects with high ceilings and developing them into Superstars in house is still one heck of a team building model and it being undervalued has opened the door for Milwaukee (and Cleveland) who have focused on this old school way of rostering good players from A-MLB. The 2024 Brewers are unpopular with the sports broadcasters and talking heads of MLB because they do not subscribe to the modern philosophy of shop shop shop. Baseball talking heads hate it when their ideology for how baseball is done is challenged and the Brewers success throws all that in their faces. This is why they project the Brewers wrong every single offseason and why the Brewers are always facing a season where they are projected to lose. 2024 made it harder for these morons to make these arguments with a straight face. They will still do it however because they simply hate the Brewers. I am sure the hate is even more than normal now that 2024 really proved them wrong at the highest levels . I believe 2025 will be the last season the Brewers are undervalued before the season is underway. After the 2025 season the Brewers model will no longer be able to be mocked by the talking heads who cover baseball and it all started with the 2024 season which showed that this model of team building is legitimate and not passe. No 2024 was not the ending any of us wanted but it was the ending that builds champions. WE all felt that we had a team there that could compete with the Dodgers and could have been a challenge for any of the teams in that playoff field. We were proven correct when Bauers and Sal put those back to back dingers in the stands. Unlike every other exit from the playoffs before this there is no reason to hang your head as a Brewers fan. SO DON'T ! 2024 was WONDERFUL and a building block to stand on moving into the place we are right now. Champions are not build in one season when building from the ground up. Losing must be part of the learning experience when building a team with talent you grew from scratch but the reality sets in when a team like this loses a playoff game they should have won. Losing a game like that should put fire in the belly of these young Stars. I know it did for me. That fire is where champions are built. I expect winning now more than ever and I own that feeling to the 2024 season and cannot look down on any part of that burgeoning team who showed they truly belong with the best teams in baseball and that this roster core can win against anyone when the lights burn brightest. In 2024 the Brewers upgraded their Manager situation BIG! We have a championship Manager now for the first time ever and we have a LOT of winning to do moving forwards under Murphy. We all need to realize that this was YEAR 0 . The first season of under new Management NEVER works as well as it did for the 2024 Brewers. Year 0 is typically a losing affair for most franchises. For us however it showed that there is massive improvements taking place in live time here and that the future(which is now) for the Brewers is brighter than ever before. I saw the bones of an champion in that 2024 Brewers team that with proper management from the top down this team should contend for big moments for the foreseeable future with the roster they are building and give us a team worth cheering for well into the 2030s and one that can win it all. I saw nothing but positives from this team in 2024 and even if it took its first hard loss under Murph we still proved this entire experiment in team building is working ! That is proof of something very special coming that we all need to get excited about every season moving forwards because big things are cooking here that we helped build only if even slightly. The 2024 season ended with a big slap to the face. That should motivate the Brewers current roster because it proved they all belong there. If they keep up this level of work they are seeing the returns of improved outcomes each season grow with every step they take to the Pennant. Everyone involved is better in 2025 because of the 2024 season and the mission to keep this core team together in the offseason is the BEST move this team could have made given it was so close in 2024. The Brewers are going to win a championship with this core and Manager in place that much I am sure of and the one last thing this team needs is for US the fans to see it too. The only question now all that is WHEN? I say why not 2025?? LET'S DO THIS! GO CREW! I love all you in Brewers Nation! WE are going to carry this team to places that we have never been ! CHEER LOUD so everyone can hear you! We have a winner on our hands and need to nurture this franchise past its past! WE can help it develop into that team we all have been waiting for so long to see. BELIEVE IN THIS CREW! That is what I got out of that playoff loss this past year. I BELIEVE! 2024 showed me this team is about to shock the world and am so glad I am here to see it ! GO BREWERS!

It is Spring and I wanted a full stage unencumbered by offseason optimism . I wanted to drive up Spring Training optimism! I get the optimism thread I really do but we are into the season now and I just went rogue. I will try to organize these threads better in the future and post them to the proper spaces. Thanks for checking it out though! GO BREWERS!

I just do not believe that. I believe that Starting has always been on the table for Hudson. Him working on 2 new pitches this offseason is not typical bullpen work. I know Hudson WELL and way back in 2017 Hudson was pitching for a minor league club that I got to watch in living color . Hudson was a starter back then and even then I saw him as a future Star even without that massive pitch release extension he developed after this. . I thought they had a guy then . A lot happened in between then and now with Hudson and he has become every bit the quality pitcher I watched play live for low A all the way back then . (Living by a low A team means watchin low A baseball a lot! If you all out there live near a Low A club visit the games often ! You never know when Bryan Hudson shows up and then ends up playing for the Brewers someday. ) I know Bryan Hudson always wanted to be a starting MLB pitcher. I also know the Brewers are great at developing pitchers into the players they want to be. If Hudson still sees himself as an MLB starter I say let him! I know he wanted it bad in 2017 . I highly doubt that want left Hudson because he was stitched into a Bullpen role while he grew up in baseball. In a hypothetical world where Hudson gets his shot at starting I hold nothing but support for this . I love Hudson and think his entire toolbox is built for Starting work and does not fit the bullpen as well. Everyone who says they are so sure he cannot be a starter have a very high opinions of their opinions. If he can do It let him. It is that simple to me. His entire arsenal is developed for starting pitching work. He has more than 3 pitches even if he only uses 3 by design in a bullpen role. So why be so sure this is not a thing that can happen? He never failed as a starter he only had setbacks in his career that shoestrung him into that role. So now that he is over those long past issues in his career why not let see what he can do in a starting role? I do not understand the pushback by people. It seems those who are so sure Hudson cannot start have formed that opinion off the previous situations Hudson found himself in and not because they actually watch him play outside of the past 2024 season with the Brewers. Hudson can most definitely start as a pitcher. How good it would look is up to the Gods and I personally want to see what it looks like and everyone else here should to! If the Brewers can unleash him as a starter as he has always wanted from his career what is the problem with that thinking? If he sucks as a starter bringing him back to a bullpen role is as easy as flipping a switch. Also this reporting of Hudson losing his velo is an Story for the papers and nothing more and could be called an excuse after the fact because it is not honest. The Brewers needed a story to justify sending a sub 2 ERA pitcher who was great all season long to AAA so they could call up Aaron Ashby for the playoff run. It had almost nothing to do with Hudson having Velo problems in truth but that is what reporting has devolved into in Spring Training 2025. Hudson had his last MLB game in 24' against the Reds on the 30th of August and you can watch his velocity in that game carry the exact same juice it did early in 24'. So no I do not believe the Brewers actually believed he lost his arm. He did not! Had this been the actual truth there it would have made much more sense to put him on the IL for arm fatigue injury and NOT waste an Option. Bryan Hudson was sent down to the Minors for a reason the Brewers did not openly admit and they came up with the "we want him to work on things" excuse for the move. His 2024 was in stone as a reliever . So him in the minors would have been best served as a bullpen player in Nashville to finish out that season. That does not mean there is not a greater plan in place for Hudson down there that does have to do with making him into a starter and we will all simply have to wait and see . You do not know they won't try him there. You only believe that to be true and in that you should not be so closed minded to the idea or any other idea that comes up in Spring Training . Even if you do not see it just be a bit more open to the ideas that people put to pen. Telling someone that their ideas are bad ideas on your opinion is a way to make enemies and we do not need that! WE Crew need to come together and drive up belief and that comes from supporting one another through this team . So do not be so sure to shoot things down in the face of someone's good work . This author took the time to pose a question and that should be the debate. Just because those who sees something in Hudson you do not does not make them wrong nor does it make for bad conversation unless that topic is shot down by others insurity. If you were not so sure of yourself you might have more fun with the 'what ifs' of baseball . I say have an open mind and enjoy this team while it is here. GO BREWERS my friend.

And this is true to be sure. I have seen hundreds of players go through Arbitration. You are correct that this is unnecessary as was Chourio penning a contract for the next decade ish. We all saw the value in that in short order. We have a lot of contracts to work in the coming seasons. Yes we have control through arbitration and that can be worked for years to determine where you place a player in his early career. Those who play this Arbitration game are bidding time until the player leaves. It has a way of making the player hate the franchise and the Franchise micro manage the player. It never is the path to keep a player . It is only a way to manage a temporary player. With every season that passes Turang will continue to improve and make his money go up and up. Turang is so much better in 5 years than he is today and paying him now on a discounted rate is all the author of this article was saying. Having the foresight to see who is and who is not worth the investment is smart business. Turang will only become more and more unaffordable as he builds season after season of progressive success. I believe in Brice Turang. I guess we get to see if the Brewers do when we see how they handle his contracting moving forwards.

When you have a chance to sign a legacy player (and Brice is a legacy player) you do not wait for it to go up. Turang hits .280 and his value climbs . Rightfully so. I still think he will be hitter much closer to .300 than .260 . This will be a banner season for Brice Turang and will define the rest of his career. My God did you see him reporting? He's got legs like William Contreras this season. Sal looks like a different player he is so beefed up(on another note) . I truly love Brice Turang as a player and think he grows into a player who challenges big career accomplishments when it is all said and done and having that all happen in Milwaukee has to be the mission for all who love the Crew. Brice is our first homegrown stud from this group who showed he belongs in the Bigs. Then from this group Sal, into Chourio and Mitchell who are all set up for big 2025 seasons. The Brewers are famously broke apparently. So when they grow homegrown talent keeping it has to be a major focus of the Brass. If Turang Hits .280 through all of 2025 and you are looking at a ALL STAR Shortstop and one who helps this team win a Pennant . KEEP your Stars close and your rivals closer... Something like that. I am all for extending Turang when it is best for the team. I just happen to believe that time is nearing and it is only going to cost more money the longer wait happens. They need to figure out how to keep Sal and Mitchell too . So there is a lot of money that needs to be spent. So to start with contracts now is not stupid. Making the pieces fit and getting the most out of these prospect builds is our only chance . We have no chance to win against the Dodgers of the world unless our homegrown talent works out in a big way. Not letting them leave in their prime after spending many years developing these players must become normalized again for smallball clubs like the Crew and in all baseball . The cyclical rosters of the MLB are one reason no one wants to watch baseball anymore. The idea of TEAM is lost on most MLB fans of 2025. They want lego teams built with different colored blocks instead of just building a lego AmFam in blue bricks they want it all to be as colorful as a tie dye shirt and none of us get to enjoy players careers for more than a few seasons before they move onto better clubs with more money. Ryan Braun was our last homegrown hall of famer spending his career here was great for him and all the rest of us. I would feel the same about Brice Turang having his entire career in Milwaukee. While Turang has been put into Big League play sooner than normal for a prospect with offensive issues. His defenses abilities put him up in the Bigs about 2 years early so many fans see him as a bad offensive player who does not have it when in truth he was just a young ball player who was so good defensively that he forced his way into the bigs even before he had developed an MLB bat. In 2023 we saw him develop that bat. I understand many believe he showed little to prove he was becoming and offensive weapon but that was what I saw. I saw a guy who was DOG$HIT with a bat in hand in 23' become the best lead off hitter in NL Central in 24' . Where he goes from here is up to him . However we have seen enough by now to know that he is dedicated to his craft in a way that only the best of the best are and no one works harder on improving himself than Turang. So pay him! I want to keep this group in Milwaukee as long as possible this time around. We grew these players in a way that has connected them to us as fans and I love them more than any group I can remember for the Packers or the Brewers. I love this Crew! Go Brewers. .

If Sal put on 25 lbs of beef so be it . Sounds impossible though. Progression is a real thing happening in live time with this young group so those skeptical of any positive change should be quite right now and see what happens . If a player is one thing or another from this group I believe we should all accept that this is by design as the Brewers are telling the players what they want from them in an offseason. So just let things be as they are and the players we currently have should shape up nicely . Best i can say.
