  1. I"m confident that the Brewers are doing this trade for a purpose and would have plans for the extra $9.5 million they would save on Cabrera vs. Cameron. I'm sure someone will try to prove otherwise, but I'm not convinced that Cameron provides $9.5 million worth of value over Cabrera. As mediocre as Cabrera's numbers are, I'm sure he would go for more than $450,000 if he were a FA. It's a value move. The $9.5 million will be better spent elsewhere.

  21. So, an opt-out after 3 years $69mil? That leaves 4 years/$92 mil to walk away from. Seriously? If he ever exercised that clause, I would hope it would be because he's unhappy in NY and not because of the money. If it comes to that, then I think baseball may be on the brink of total collapse.
  22. Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize that they actually ranked the players, I just assumed it was an A, B, C thing. I'm sure there is some Sabermetric formula that goes into the rankings, but it still seems kind of arbitrary to me. Based on what?.
  23. My parents never had a snow blower. Every snow storm we were out there shoveling the long driveway. There was a massive heavy snowstom the month after my wife and I purchased our first house. Thankfully our neighbor came to the rescue with his snow blower. At that point I bit the bullet, went out to farm and fleet, and somehow managed to get a snow blower in the trunk of my 1988 Toyota Celica (they had to take it out of the box - not fully assembled - and it was a long nervous ride home). To this day, I still tell my wife every winter that it was the best purchase I ever made. Although, it was unable to get through the end of the driveway yesterday (pure slush - I noticed the neighbor across the street had the same issue).
  24. Please explain to me how this works. If I understand correctly, if Tex signs with the Yankees the Brewers get bumped from the Yankees first round pick and instead get their second round pick...correct? If this is true..why? How does Anaheim have rights over the Brewers? You would think the team with the worst record would get the higher pick.
  25. So true and it sickens me. People can complain all they want about small market whining, but when certain top tier players are pretty much off limits to all but a select few teams, then it's not truly a free market. Nor is it a level playing field.
