  2. I’m not sure about the rest of you but I feel perfectly comfortable dismissing what Ethan Small contributed to the bullpen in 2023,…………..

  4. Yelich’s contract isn’t bad for the production he is giving this season. I’m glad he’s here for the long term……he loved Milwaukee enough to sign what at the time was viewed as a very team friendly deal………clearly he hasn’t produced at the mvp levels of his 2 best seasons……but he’s one of the best 10-20 players in baseball this season by WAR…….people need to stop trying to “ move him” to get out from under a contract that is perfectly reasonable for this level of production.

  6. Not baffling at all to me……they wanted to give Winker every chance to come out of it…….which is perfectly reasonable ……it just didn’t work.
  7. From McCalvy Why haven’t the Brewers called up Keston Hiura? Hiura wasn’t the same hitter in the big leagues from 2020-22 as he was during an eye-opening rookie showing in ‘19, but he’s been on a tear at Triple-A Nashville this year, hitting .308 with a .963 OPS. The Brewers have not yet given him a shot, however, for a couple of reasons. One, scouts say Hiura has actually regressed in the field, and would be limited to designated hitter duty for a Brewers team that’s been winning with pitching and defense. Two, Minor League surface numbers don’t always tell the whole story. The Brewers have much more advanced data about players’ performance and the quality of competition against whom they’re doing damage. So far, the organization hasn’t viewed Hiura as an upgrade, or it would have made the move. But that may be changing. Hiura made an adjustment to his approach earlier this month that has intrigued club officials. At this point, it’s a smallish sample. But it’s growing. Asked whether Hiura could be a possibility for a callup at some point, Brewers GM Matt Arnold said, “He’s continuing to evolve his approach and we’re seeing some really encouraging signs here lately. Certainly, we’re looking for more production out of the DH spot and Keston is absolutely in the conversation there.”
  8. Anybody have any idea what is going on with Lauer? Seems like he might also be a candidate to move to the 60 day?
  9. Could also just be clearing a spot for a trade acquisition. or Hiura I suppose………🤷‍♂️
  10. Keith Law loves him some Brewers……only Misiorowski conspicuous by his absence https://theathletic.com/4703833/2023/07/21/mlb-top-prospects-2023-minor-leaguers/
  11. I’ll leave you with this: It’s unlikely, but it isn’t impossible that top pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski debuts at some point this season. He was recently promoted to Double-A and while he’s still refining a few things, I had a talent evaluator recently tell me: “You know I’m not prone to hyperbole, but I legitimately think he has the best stuff in the minors.” Whether he debuts in 2023 or 2024, the Brewers believe Misiorowski has the potential to be really, really good. https://fansided.com/2023/07/20/mlb-trade-rumors-cardinals-brewers-padres-shohei-ohtani/
  12. You have as much chance of pitching this season for the Brewers as Hader does. It’s not happening……and giving up prospect capital for him……when the bullpen is the least of our problems would be idiotic to be kind.
  13. Not to mention we got 5 years of control with Contreras……including this season. 4 years of Payamps Pequero has a bunch of years too…….https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/elvis-peguero-74358/
  14. Think the D is still a question mark from the guys who have watched him a lot at Biloxi.
  15. After the hot first 2 months of the season the Brewers were remarkably consistent before and after the Hader trade. June 12-15 July 13-11 August 12-15 Sept 15-13 Oct 2-3 id do that trade again 100 times out of a hundred……I’m not convinced we would have made the playoffs with him…..and if we did it would have been a very short stay IMO
