I don’t think Nottingham will make the team

I don’t think Stearns signed the best defensive 2nd baseman in all of baseball to move him to 3rd base. My guess is there will be another move or 2 and everything will become clear.

Who said anything about Cain returning yet? Did he jump the line and get vaccinated? Seems pretty presumptuous to assume Cain will be around this year. It would shock me, actually, if he is anywhere near Arizona in the next month. Great signing today.... hope it lengthens the lineup! Stearns said he has talked to Cain and fully expects him to play this season.

Wong has hit well in Milwaukee during his time with the Cardinals, compiling a .855 OPS with a .373 OBP in 217 plate appearances at Miller Park, now renamed American Family Field. He showed overall improvement at the plate the past two seasons, compiling a .754 OPS, and is a factor on the bases as well (24 steals in 2019).

This sounds like the Owners have resigned themselves to the 162 game schedule. “In light of the MLBPA’s rejection of our proposal, and their refusal to counter our revised offer this afternoon, we are moving forward and instructing our Clubs to report for an on-time start to Spring Training and the Championship Season, subject to reaching an agreement on health and safety protocols,” the league said in its own statement.

Let’s see......he has a good year in 2021......’and then opts out.......he has a mediocre, injury riddled or poor year and opts in........ Those seem like potential ok outcomes .......of course he could play great.....love St Louis and decide to stay. Let’s see what happens.

Chances that he doesn’t have one......99%.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bally_Manufacturing Takes me back to my youth when I worked at Bally’s Tom Foolery on 76th street....they bought the old Barnaby’s restaurant chain so they could combine dining with video arcade game rooms.

https://www.nj.com/yankees/2021/01/mlb-rumors-brewers-still-dangling-josh-hader-heres-4-for-1-offer-yankees-can-make.html To get Hader, the Yankees clearly have make an offer that the Brewers’ can’t turn down, so they’d have to give up a lot. Here’s our 4-for-1 proposal. Young arms Deivi Garcia and Alexander Vizcaino, outfielder Estevan Florial and shortstop Josh Smith for Hader. Garcia would be the centerpiece of this all-prospects offer, as the Dominican righty is the Yanks’ second-best pitching prospect and Major League ready. Milwaukee also would get Florial, a five-tool center fielder prospect with star potential, plus a future starter in Vizcaino, who has hit 100 mph, and a high-ceiling middle infield prospect in Smith.

Unlikely.....you don’t trade a guy coming off a horrible year.......hard to get any value and in this environment you’d have to eat money to move him.
  25. markedman5
That’s a pretty expensive platoon though ....especially for a team with a tight budget.
