  1. I thought Melvin made an interesting point about the 2012 bullpen makeup. He said they got caught with too many guys with guaranteed contracts(I took that to mean with no options left) so that when they struggled they were kind of stuck. They didn't want to lose them but they couldn't send down guys like Dillard, Parra, Loe etc without exposing them to waivers. Obviously Dillard went unclaimed but right or wrong that was their concern. I would hope that next year they will have 2 or 3 guys with options so they have more flexibility if needed. Henderson fits the bill. Not sure who else does. Kintzler?
  2. It looks to me like most of you are picking who you think should win and not who will win. Does anybody really think Trout is going to win by a "landslide"? As I said earlier......I think Cabrera will win fairly easily. I'm 54
  3. I too think Carbrera will win easily. Whether or not he should win is a different argument but I have no doubt Cabrera will win.
  4. I wonder why they chose RBIs instead of runs scored for the triple crown category? Why is driving in runs more important then scoring them?
  5. 3.9 walks per 9 innings isn't great but not too bad when you combine it with 40k's in 27 innings. No walks in 23 of 33 outings and only twice has he walked more then one. If he is our 7th inning guy we should have an excellent bullpen and I would have no problem with giving him 8th and 9th inning chances. He has shown he can handle it.
  6. Why wouldn't Henderson be a viable 8th inning option? 96/97 with movement and a nasty slider. The guy has the stuff to dominate hitters and has shown he can do it at this level even if the sample is small.
  7. 1000 guys in the pen and he has to go to a guy who is 50 years old and tops out at 84.........
  8. He said something along the lines of I don't need to get every last dollar IIRC yep found it http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/coreys-heart-in-brew-city-op6jul6-167445795.html "It's not like I have to get every last dollar," he said. "If you're comfortable, money is not that big of a deal. I tried to tell Zack that when he was here. He's been struggling (with Los Angeles) and I guarantee you that's part of it. "I don't know what (the Brewers) are thinking, but I'd like to stay. I didn't want any doubt about that. We'll see if they come back with anything."
  9. Tight bicep for Peralta.....not elbow which is good
  10. Somehow this is how our season should end............
  11. Henderson has been so good since he has been called up. 97 with a nasty slider is a great combo for a relief pitcher. As bad as Krod was earlier in the year he has really turned it around his last 20 outings.
  12. Marcum has got the at em ball working tonight......lots of line drives right at outfielders.
  13. Normally going 2-2 at Washington would be ok......but today it's a killer
  14. He meant clinch the division...said he doesn't care about home field. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-knobler/20351159/davey-johnson:-'i-don't-care'-about-the-best-record-in-the-league
  15. No but it looks like the Nats will lay down for the Cards DKnobler ‏@DKnobler Bad news for Brewers: Davey Johnson says he'll rest regulars once Nationals clinch. Nats play Cardinals next weekend.
  16. Henderson just has great stuff...why he wasn't up earlier in the year is just mind boggling.
  17. Card's fans taking it well.......=) http://interact.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=908195&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0
  18. That's what I'm talking about!! Aoki set the table........Braun and AR cook the meal!
  19. Why was it a rookie mistake? RR clearly told him to run 3-2.......
  20. Credit where its due....very nice job by Marcum tonight....lots of pop ups and no walks. too bad Jackson is dominating
