    1.5 million is not pocket change……especially to small market teams. There is virtually no chance they extend him so you hope he doesn’t get mad but it’s not like they are being unfair with him…….he will get a. number that both sides agree on or an arbiter will decide…….either way it’s just business……he will get paid well no matter what happens.

    The Brewers agreed with the market……nobody wanted him for 5 million. So whoever signs him will get him for less…… small market teams try not to waste money……even though bad signings are inevitable from time to time.

    Ok……would you have preferred if he said you were “ overjoyed “ with the signing instead of saying you were “insistent”? It’s ok…… we are all guilty of loving certain moves that don’t turn out great……maybe he will reward your original enthusiasm this season…….

    I believe that this could still potentially be a trade…….or have been revocable waivers now been done away with? I agree it’s more likely that he either gets picked up or the option just gets declined.

    They obviously don’t think he’s worth the money at this stage of his career and hope to save the buyout.. They must feel confident in the other less expensive guys……..it will be interesting to see if anyone claims him…..and who it is.
