Murphy said after the game it was a choice between Bauers against the lefty or Cameron against the righty. He thought with the bases loaded they would go right at Bauers and they did. -

Yeah I wasn’t impressed with Quintana today but he managed to avoid big damage and the offense came through….and the defense finally looked like the defense we’ve been used to. I’m glad we have Jose……but I don’t think he’s as good as his record right now.

Yes I do…….he had lost the clubhouse and had a veteran team…..he also wasn’t the manager of the year the season before. listen I don’t love Murphy…….his personality rubs me the wrong way……but I’m not on the team and the players seem to like and respect him…….I doubt he is going anywhere.

We should also remember that virtually every one of Murphy’s decisions ( especially the pitching ones) are collaborative……..that’s how it’s done these days……input from pitching coaches and bench coaches .

My guess is Murphy yanked Frelick for missing cut off man and Durbin for getting picked off. just a guess but I think he’s had enough of the mental errors
