  1. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/braves-trade-harrell-alvarez-rangers.html Rangers pitching WOAH SOLVDD. Demeritte was the Rangers' 20th best prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
  2. That was my thought too, though Grandal has been playing better. I'm thinking they might be looking more at Braun.
  3. And there's the problem. He not only has had rough luck staying on the field, he's not long for the catching position. Like I said before, if he's part of the trade, that's fine, but he should not be the main piece to a trade. Way too much risk with him.
  4. Per my MLB app. Elbow soreness is not a good soreness.
  5. there appears to be a "mystery team." This is pretty much the best confirmation you can get that a deal will happen. I think MLBTR even tracked "mystery team" references a few years ago.
  6. I'm sure the Brewers would ask about Victor Robles or Reynaldo Lopez from the Nationals to headline a deal.
  7. Can't believe Henry Blanco hasn't been brought up yet. Hank the Tank! It actually is amazing to me that he played 12 more season in the big leagues after he left the Brewers as a 30 year old backup catcher in 2001.
  8. I had the Brewers getting Szapucki and Wotell as part of a Lucroy deal with the Mets in a post yesterday. Clearly I am being plagerized. And that seems light for Jeffress.
  9. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/blue-jays-trade-storen-mariners-benoit.html At least in terms of 2016 performance, crap for crap.
  10. I mentioned Tati, buried about 30 pages ago. Jorma Rodriguez is another guy on their AZL squad that it seems like Stearns would like. Taylor was drafted this year, can't be traded.
  11. That's all well and good Brewcrewin07 - who are the specific players the Brewers could plausibly acquire that meet your criteria?
  12. Vasquez to Helena Assuming that means catcher Yoel Vasquez, who is 1-5 on the year and hasn't played in a game in three weeks for the Baby Brewers?
  13. Jack Z predicts Lucroy to the Indians.
  14. In case you need closure, Louie Crow did not sign and honored his commitment to the U of San Diego.
  15. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/189677192/pipeline-inbox-prospects-with-rising-stocks/ So for those of you waiting for the competitive balance lottery results, you're going to have to wait.
  16. Since the calendar turned to May, Austin Ross has a 2.68 ERA, with 14 BBs and 53 Ks in 47 IP. Only 36 hits and 3 HR allowed as well. If the Brewers end up dealing off relievers, I think I'd bring up Ross before Magnifico, Goforth, or Scahill.
  17. Upton was about a 1.5 WAR player last year, on pace for 2+ this year.
  18. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/blue-jays-agree-to-acquire-melvin-upton.html For an unnamed A-ball player, and the Padres are paying a lot of his remaining salary. Upton has been decent this year and last at the plate after a brutal few years in Atlanta. Looks like a good deal for the Blue Jays.
  19. Demuth has been freed as well!
  20. Gabe freaking Garcia. Playing shortstop today no less. Also a good day to be a Feliciano.
  21. Isn't that the exact reason Lucroy needs to be traded now, instead of later? It's true that most teams buying at this point are buying for this year, but future value is definitely worth something.
  22. Should probably just give them Smith, Jeffress, and Thornburg at that point. Throw in Arcia?
  23. Still a bit surprised the Yankees are choosing to sell. They are over 500 and 4.5 out of the wild card. I mean, good for them if they're being honest with themselves about the talent on the roster and its ability to get to the postseason, but this just generally seems like an un-Yankee thing to do.
  24. I agree the one game is neither here nor there, but Smith's sample size for the velo drop and K rate crash is 23 games. 154 games pitched in the last two years combined with the aforementioned performance issues this season makes me more than a little nervous about Smith's prospects going forward. If the Brewers get a good but not great offer for him, I think they should be inclined to consider it.
  25. While Smith/Jeffress/Thornburg may not be elite, they are all good to very good and controllable through 2019. There's a ton of value in the control factor.
