  1. Funny, the real pregame show was full of Allen loving on Yost. Just take what Yost does, and disagree (mildly or loudly depening on win/loss) and you too can host apostgame show.
  2. Game over. Bases loaded, nobody out. And NO score? Just limp off and come back later. Oh, and make me wrong. Please. EDIT: And I posted in the wrong thread. I will now duck as things are thrown.
  3. In the words of Powell... The Reds just blinked.
  4. Don't have to worry about that this year. We won't see the Cubs in Milwaukee till 2008.
  5. Every time we lose, I am tired of using bleach to scrub my brains off the ceiling. I want to save the Earth. There must be somethinng less caustic to scrub my brains off the ceiling. Make sure you get your whole mouth in front of the shotgun, it hurts less. Or so I am told.
  6. Karl Raveich and Steve Levy should be wrapped in gasoline soaked rags and thrown into a grill. Together they make for the most unwatchable 2 hours on TV aside from 10 man presidential debates (either party). ESPN, the wordwide leader in sports we broadcast.
  7. Looking at this, we get Dunn, unload Wise and Gwynn, does that mean Hall is ready to come back? Do we go a man down in the pen? I think now that the game has started we won't hear anything. Of course, I am always wrong.
  8. I think we need to drop the Graffinino beef. This today's lineup would be even worse with Weeks in it the way he has been playing. Nothing like a 100% of awkward strike out or week pop to the SS. At least Graffy has been making contact the last 2 months.
  9. Purdue University, BA History 1998 University of Dayton, JD 2004 Best "job" I had in school was bing on the Big Drum crew for the Purdue marching band (see avatar). Marching band took up about 25 hours a week during the fall. Other than that my college jobs were: Painter, telemarketer, bookstore, front desk at a housing complex, delivery truck driver, waiter, and bouncer. I tended to work 2 jobs during summer to save up scratch so that list looks long.
  10. I'm glad attendance is up. Hopefully we can stay in this thing and we'll draw more than 9k on Packer Sundays. I remember one 2003 Sunday when it was so quiet you could hear John Van Der Waal discussing stock options in the dugout. From the Lodge.
  11. I'm calling shennanigans on this. We haven't played AZ yet this year.
  12. Wow, I haven't checked there in 3 years. That place has a nasty troll infection. Not surprising that they have nothing nice to say. I guess they have a beef with having an actual discussion. I refuse to be offended by a group of people who don't wipe after sitting down in the can.
  13. How long would that be laid end to end? We could call it "Three feet of meat" or "The feat of meat". The colon buster?
  14. We are so hosed tomorrow. Suppan is starting and neither Yo or V are available when he flames out in the 4th. Who will come in when Suppan is down 5 and thrown 200 pitches in the 4th?
  15. I can confirm again that the Chorizo exists main level, 3rd base side, more or less catty-corner from that souvenier stand. As for special foods, I had no idea that they sell full blown Chicago dogs at the 3rd base Grill. Hot diggity. Chicago dogs are the best things to come out of Chicago aside form my Dad and family.
  16. I hate to defend the indefensible, especially when nobody is paying me to, but... Sitting down by the plate, the zone was TIGHT, both ways. Cappy and V just threw more meatballs than the Rockies. No griping about Ned here. He brought in V just when Cappy started to falter. Right after giving up the double to the pitcher. V got out of that inning but just didn't get it done. No Spurling or Dessens or Moeller to kill Ned about here; the studs didn't get it done. I've never said this before, but we really must win the next 2. Just based on the sheer number of Cubs fans I had to punch tonight, we must win...
  17. I want to say 12-6, although I won't say against who. Every mediocre opponent we are supposed to handle on the road owns us. 1-3 from PIT and 1-2 from the Nats? I just hope we don't wilt in Cincy and StL. We tend to handle the so-so teams at home, so I hope that form holds up.
  18. Barry got some new ones cause the roids shrunk the others. Very distracting.
  19. Heee, BPD nailed it. Villy and Yo will never crack the roatation because they need to be there on 4 days rest when Supuano starts. Somebody has to pick up the 4th-7th. The quote is most funny as well. As for Belling, I would rather drink a bowl of vomit than listen to him, but he isn't totally off on the pitching thing. On the others, well, he needs to pay a little more attention.
  20. I'm going to disagree. The Phils saw fellow human beings in danger, potentially mortal danger the way that tarp was moving and they stepped up. Absolutely the right reaction. Sure, they risked injury, but so did the crew at that point. I think the Phil's actions saved some lives.
  21. I'm in for more than the usual. I typically watch most of the game every year, just checking out after the 5th and catching up on it in the paper. This year, I may watch/listen to the whole thing. I may switch to radio as the FOX promos and general...um...broadcast waste product gets a little heavy after too long.
  22. I am still here El Guapo. Cmon Weeks, DO SOMETHING!
  23. Gonna hijack the thread for a moment to say Happy Birthday to Dad of TheBwaz. All these fireworks just for you. Enjoy the day off if you have it, or try to enjoy the time and a half if you can get it.
  24. Blue font=Sarcasm I say double headed, cause playing on the off day in September puts them on pace to play 24 straight to end the season. Besides which, I think the player's contract says they can't go more than 20 days without a day off. They can waive that, but why?
  25. Wait, I'm missing pizza day? I fell left out. At UWM they fed us in a dank pit.
