    Might as well have a meltdown loss, just as long as it doesn’t linger past tonight.

    Just an amazing run this 2025 season is. Seems like whatever goes wrong for the other team is capitalized on by the Brewers over these past several months. It’s almost as if they’re using Murphy’s Law as a tool, as if they’re Murphy’s Litigators.

    At the level the team is currently playing at, I could anticipate today's Sunday Lineup scoring at least 6 runs.

    I wonder if there is a sense of near invincibility setting in among the players. It can be a fine line between overconfidence (“just roll the helmets out there”) and proper belief in oneself. But feeling that every game is winnable if each player simply does his job—and not someone else’s—falls on the right side of that line. With these multiple winning streaks and lack of big blowout losses lately, I get the vibe that Murphy has instilled that mindset with everyone on the roster.

    Rolling with Uribe and having it pay off. Can’t hurt his confidence.

    I must admit that I did not expect anything like this from Woodruff in the injury comeback season. Maybe something like a 4.25 ERA with a bunch of 5 inning starts. But this performance so far is solidly a #2 starter and pushing toward the top of rotation.

    Having no real target shortstop at the trade deadline hurt. Wonder if there had been any look at some other team’s prospect shortstop (like Darell Hernaiz from the Athletics) while offering a pitching prospect in return.

    Guess that's Preller truly going all in. Wonder what his job security is with the team, particularly if the Padres don't make the World Series or at least the NLCS?

    I wouldn't hate adding Kwan, as he is a quality player and has some further years of control. But if I'm looking to obtain an outfielder at the anticipated cost of prospects, I want at least one of the two aspects: (1) a bat that projects to 20+ HR in a season or (2) a glove that projects to being a starting CF. Of course, having both would be optimal. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I just don't see Kwan meeting either of those. So then you're looking at having Kwan in LF and Frelick in RF, where neither of the corner outfielders are power bats. (We already have that with Collins in LF and Frelick in RF.) That would seem to do nothing to the lack of power, which seems like the area where the lineup actually needs improvement.

    More unfortunate that the team started getting behind relatively early with its nominal #1 starter going (Peralta) and a reliever that may need to be depended on (Hall). Squandering a chance at the sweep feels worse than a loss in the standings, though it is only one loss.
