It was crazy that Angel Hernandez never even saw Narvaez’s turn or bothered to look at him, he just reacted to the fact that he saw Narvaez diving back towards the first base bag. Also, Mike Petriello mentioned that he thought Angel Hernandez had “sorta called timeout” after the ball was fielded off the side wall. I missed that and didn’t go back to watch it yet, did anyone else notice that? Yes, you can see Hernandez put both arms up facing towards home plate with Narvaez behind him. Not the most egregious example, but more of Hernandez being in the Bottom 3 of umpires in MLB.

Can’t complain about those 6 IP from Peralta. Get that fastball either higher or lower in the zone to Pollack, and it may have been 0 ER.

Bats have gone quiet since running into outs in the 2nd.

Taking a center does make sense. Interesting that Creed Humphrey goes right after Myers. Can link the two by draft position and track who ends up a better NFL center.

Rough timing for Nottingham. He likely would have been the one getting the call had he not been DFA'd a few days ago. Unfortunate how often that seems to happen with roster moves for players who are on the cusp of taking a major league roster spot. The Narvaez/Piña tandem was the way to go coming out of Spring Training, but it would’ve been nice to see if Nottingham could be a major league catcher at least for several weeks in a normal season.

Going to miss the Pineapple for at least 10 days due to a fractured toe. Foul ball from Monday’s game (April 26) was the cause. Luke Maile is called up to take Manny Piña’s place.
