  1. That at bat by Shaw is seen too much. Compare the approaches at the plate from opponents, and most of the time they look superior. Sure seemed that way from Washington over the weekend.
  2. Hader at 17 pitches through 2 innings. Really have to think he goes a third, unless the Brewers put up 3 or more runs this inning.
  3. Might have taken until August 31 to acquire one, but better late than never..... Tbf I think that's the right way to go. A LOOGY is great to have in the playoffs, but a bit of a luxury to carry on the 25-man during the regular season. Especially if you're a team relying a lot on your bullpen, with a short leash on starters. I'd rather have another multi-inning reliever in the 'pen. Mind you I'm talking pure LOOGY here; a lefty specialist who's decent against righties and can get 3 or more outs is another story. That's a very fair point concerning a pure LOOGY, which is probably more of a pennant race/playoff necessity. Of course, having a LHP who can dominate left-handed batters and hold his own against righties is optimal for a roster at any time in the season. Cedeño's stats this season make him look like an effective reliever against lefties and righties; that should be a helpful bullpen addition for the 2018 home stretch.
  4. Also a good number of Brewers fans in the stadium. Not only people living near DC. Nice to see for us East Coast based fans.
  5. It’s wet here in DC, but that rain feels good in a 4-1 Brewers win.
  6. And Arcia knocks in Lyles to win it. Never thought that would be a sentence in an in game thread.
  7. So many other ways to score runs in baseball. Perhaps the Brewers will yet choose to utilize one tonight.
  8. There were RISP opportunities in the 4th, 6th, and 8th Innings that needed just a single, but the batters failed to convert. The offense still seems to be all-or-nothing.
  9. Lousy AB from Broxton to end it. Seems fitting. Too many issues—some self-inflicted—to overcome in this game.
  10. Sacrifice fly-ball one batter too late. Seem to see that too many times watching Brewers games.
  11. Two singles equal two runs. Game is definitely in flux with the next batter. Time for Shaw to drop in an extra-base hit.
  12. Good loss to hang on the Cubs. Would love to see the same tomorrow.
  13. Chacin getting the Maddux treatment on those backdoor breaking balls. Just keep throwing them in that spot.
  14. One of the biggest changes from 2017 when the Brewers barely got any late comeback wins. Last year, the Brewers were 5-56 when trailing to start Inning 7; 1-54 when trailing to start Inning 8. They had 4 walk-off wins and 9 walk-off losses. They also had 35 total comeback wins of any sort. This year so far, the team is 10-36 when trailing to start Inning 7; 5-42 when trailing to start Inning 8. They currently have 8 walk-off wins and 6 walk-off losses. They also have 30 total comeback wins.
  15. Well turned double play. Got Anderson out of that inning. Time for the offense to pick him up and turn the game over to the bullpen.
