  1. Well Miller Park, considering the schedules....I would have to say that would be the Cubs. The Cubs going 6-2 last week was absolutely huge, coupled with Sheets losing Friday pretty much sealed the deal in my mind.
  2. I hope your right rluz, I really do! But I think they have a better chance of finishing the homestand 5-0, then finishing 3-2
  3. We really need to bring this thread back to life. Tonight's start by Zambrano is going to be huge. If he implodes tonight that could really hurt the Cubs. If he pitches great in Wrigley tonight after last nights dramatic win, we could be in big trouble.it Common Cubs, don't forget your past.
  4. After last night's game I think the Cubs are going to finish the season 9-2. I thought they were going to finish 8-4 before last night's game but now I just don't see that happening. I would be very surpised if they lost a game at Wrigley again this year. 11-2 for the Crew to force a 1 game playoff.
  5. ESPN is a necessary evil. There is no other 24 hour sports station other than FSN, which has like one highlight show every day. Exactly, that is why I think it is ridiculous when people continuessly rip ESPN for every little mistake they make.
  6. For all of you who rip ESPN, why are you still watching it? To critique it? If you don't like it, why don't you just ignore it and watch some other 24 hour sports station?
  7. The point I am making is, we don't know why Braun didn't play yesterday and I was just curious to see what people thought if that was the case. I am guessing Yost just wanted to give Braun a day off (which is crap) and I think it has nothing to do with that double steal on Saturday or him showing up late on Sunday. But if he did show up late, I would bench him without a doubt.
  8. Quick question for everyone, if Braun showed up late on Sunday morning because he was out to late the night before, would you bench him to set an example?
  9. Cubs announcers make me very mad.
  10. Considering both teams schedule, I still think the Cubs should be the favorites to win the division. I am really hoping for a 3 game lead heading into Atlanta on September 20th.
  11. If all it took to hit home runs in the big leagues is to take HGH, I will order my shipment tomorrow and be in the league next year. What Ankiel is doing is pretty amazing, whether he took HGH 3 years ago or not.
  12. I agree...I think we have a tougher schedule then teh CUbs. They are a .500 team on the road and we now how we play on the road. I think the Crew will step up though and take the divison. I am hoping for a 3-3 road trip, (1-2 in Cincy and 2-1 in Pitt) I think the Cubs will win 2 of 3 in Pitt and St. Louis will either get swept or lose 2 of 3 in Arizona. With 5 games next week between the Cubs and Cards, hopefully one team doesn't win more than 3 of those games.
  13. There's a decent chance that the Padres will have nothing to play for by the time they play the Brewers. How do you figure? I dont' see the west or wild card being settle until the last week of the season.
  14. I think it is pretty apparent that they are not going to limit Yo's innings after last night. If they were, he would have been taking out after the 5th inning without a doubt.
  15. did i miss something. they won yesterday right? and yet your still complaining about decisions. give it up! hart bunting might not have been a popular decisions but if it gets in another run, i'm all for it. now some of you are complaining just for the sake of finding something wrong with ned in every game. I thought the whole point in all of this is that people complain only when we lose. The posters who are ripping Ned (even after a win) are the posters who disagree with a lot of Neds decisions no matter what the outcome of the game is. To me, when your bullpen is a bad as it is, bunting with your number 5 hitter with a one run lead in that situation, knowing Jenkins would get walked so they can face Estrada is a bad decision. Hart is very tough to double up, so there was a very good chance that no matter what happened during that at bat, Hart would have gotten the runner to third at the very least. By saying this team wins, despite Ned's bonehead decisions, isn't far fetched at all. To me it is simple, Ned Yost does not give this team the best chance to win night in and night out.
  16. Anyone defending Yost right now has no legs to stand on. Greg Aquino ladies and gentlemen. The same pitcher who was not good enough to be on our team all year was good enough for Ned yesterday in a big situation. Not pulling Mench for Jenkins or Counsel last week was about as bad as it got, so I thought, but yesterday definately took the cake. I was shaking my head when McClung came out instead of Linebrink as well. It is like Yost just says to himself, maybe this could work and if it does, then I am a genious. In my mind, Shouse was not the answer yesterday either...the answer to me was Cordero.
  17. Did we really go 2+ days without a vent?
  18. Jenkins had a 100% chance of gettiing a hit off of Dempster than Mench did.
  19. No way will Hall be gone next season. I think Hall is going to have a big game tonight.
  20. It isn't even September yet and Cub fans think they have clinched the division. September is going to be fun
  21. We are still in a pennant race guys. We are 2.5 games back with 30 games to play.

  24. Pujols had half of his body across home plate on that call.
