  1. With San Diego losing today, there are now 6 teams in the NL within 3.5 games of the wild card. It is such a great feelng to know we don't have to jump over 6 or 7 teams like years past for a chance at the post season. For all the people who thought the Central had no chance to get a wild card team, that might not be the case any more. I love it when there are so many teams involved in the playoff chace. The more I watch Colorado, the more I like that team. I think as of today I am rooting for Colorado or Arizona to win the WC.
  2. According to rotoworld, Tony Gwynn got sent down to AAA
  3. Adam Dunn - Red Sox Jermaine Dye - Dodgers Mark Texiera - Padres Edgar Renteria - Giants Matt Morris - Phillies Eric Gagne - Indians Octavio Dotel - Brewers Richie Sexson - Yankees Dimtri Young - Braves Joaquin Benoit - Tigers Now, I think if you pick their original team for each player, you would win but I'll just assume you can't do that.

  5. Two things concerning the 8th inning 1. Great job by Yost to finally pull a pitcher belows he totally implodes. 2. Turnbow is our setup guy and a good one at that. Every time he pitches everyone is nervous. When he gets the guys 1..2...3 like last night, nobody says anything but when he gives up some runs people want to shred him (thinking back to last year's 2nd half performance) Sometimes you have to tip the cap to the other team, as it is pretty obvious T-Bow isn't the only guy to give up a HR to Dunn. Atleast T-Bow wasn't walking guys.
  6. I would have pulled Yo after 6, pitched Spurling in the 7th and maybe the 8th depending on the situation and then use Cordero or Shouse in the 9th depending on the situation. But then again, does one extra inning this game really matter....Yo has been so much fun to watch tonight.
  7. WIll someone please give me their opinion about Yo tonight. How deep do you want him to pitch in this game? Who should be the 1st guy out of the pen?
  8. Wells has actually been pitching better of late.
  9. Man, the Yankees sure are scoring a lot of runs lately....I hope they catch Boston.
  10. Hey Russ, when are you going to change your aviater, or are you keeping it for your entire career at brewerfan.net?
  11. I was just about to say the same thing Russ
  12. If we are limiting Yo's innings, he really shouldn't pitch past the 5th should he?
  13. Think Yo will pitch more than 5 inning tonight? Probably 6 max. Who are we giving the ball to after him. My vote is Spurling.
  14. If we win tonight....all is fine. Lets find a way to split this 4 game series with the Reds. I don't care about records, the Reds have been a decent team since their miserable start. Considering our road troubles, winning 2 games in this series is an accomplishment in my mind. Only 1 team can say they have a better record than us in the National League. One game isn't going to get me to start thinking negative. I can't wait to watch Yo pitch tonight. 7-3 Brewers victory sounds about right to me.
  15. I wanted the team to go 10-8 at the very worst coming out of the all-star break so after going 6-4 at home, I am expecting a 4-4 road trip while maintaining a 3 1/2 game game (cubs going 3-3 this week)
  16. Wednesday is what I heard if things go ok after today's game.
  17. The Milwaukee Brewers for 500. Which team is in first place in the NL Central, while also sharing the best record in the National League?
  18. What has transpired during the course of the year that has changed Shouse's role? I thought he was our LOGGY. Instead he is pitching in the 6th inning, throwing the whole inning. This especially doesn't make any sense now that we have added a second left handed pitcher to the bullpen. For example, last night, why didn't Villy pitch the 6th and save Shouse for a tough leftly later in the game. Yost really messed up by pitching Wise three innings yesterday so he wasn't available last night to pitch the 7th. Nobody in our bullpen has a specific role now except Cordero and Turnbow.
  19. The sky can't be falling to fast. We still do have the best record in the National League.
  20. If a Cub fan read this thread he would be laughing. It would be fun just to ignore them all together but that is easier to say than do. Oh well, what can you do....if the Brewers win tonight they will match their season high for games over .500 at 14.
  21. I think a major difference in the two teams right now is that the Cubs are a much better road team than the Brewers. I don't expect the Brewers to win a series on the road the rest of the season (not that I think that is going to happen but I am trying to be realistic) Things can change in a hurry however, and we might be good on the road in the second half of the season. These first 8 road games will be interesting as Cincinatti is playing very good baseball. Next week we play 8 games while the Cubs play 6.
  22. They actually left 26 guys on base......I thought the 57 sounded high. Got some bad info from my source...sorry about that.
  23. The Twins had a real good chance to gain some ground and get right in the thick of the Central race this week but got swept by the Tigers. The Twins left 57 guys on base in a 3 game series.....how frustrated would you be if you were a Twins fan. I thought the Brewers were the only team who left runners on base?
  24. Honestly the first thing I thought of after hearing Tim Allen mention brewerfan.net was how cool it was that the site was mentoned. I never was under the impression that the site was the cause for the false reports.
