  1. Don't do Hawaii in 3 nights. By the time you arrive, you think it's 3 AM, and you want to crash. Plus, all flights home are overnight flights, so that eats up one of your nights on your trip. 3 nights is a perfect length of time for Vegas. I've been there twice, and am not a big gambler, either. Try to go during the week if you can...it won't be as busy. Go see a show, walk up and down the strip, go to Freemont St, and walk around the casinos. 3 nights will go quick. I also really enjoyed the San Francisco Bay area. We spent a week there, but you can cut that down to 3 nights very easily.
  2. The NoDak goal came on a play that should not have happened in the first place. A NoDak player took control of the puck in the corner of their own zone, but the rush had not begun yet. Jake Gardiner backed off the play instead of challenging the puck in the corner. The one aspect of the game where I thought the Badgers played well was fighting for the puck on the boards, yet Gardiner didn't even try to do so. Johnson had a stupid play (I sound like a broken record saying that....it wasn't a turnover, but he was out of position), and a pass later, the dude puts it on net. If Gardiner tries to challenge the puck, the pass out of the zone probably never happens like it did. The only true bright spot was Gudy's play in goal. He had a fantastic game. The goal he gave up was no cheap shot. I'm still mad about that game...
  3. That was one of the worst games I have seen them play. Two 5-minute power plays, plus 3 or 4 other power plays, and they hardly got any shots off at all. It seemed they went for the pass every opportunity they had, instead of shooting it. I left that game tonight so angry at the way the team played.
  4. Parents of my students... Don't blame me for your kid getting her iPod stolen.
  5. To transfer songs... Attach your IPod and open ITunes. Enable your IPod for disk use. Go to my computer and open your IPod. Make sure you change the folder settings to show hidden folders. Open the folder that says "Ipod_Control" Go to the "Music" folder Select everything, transfer it to your computer. There should also be a "Transfer Purchases" option in ITunes.
  6. I did my homework, and came up with what was deemed a fair number. The sticker price was well above that number. The crazy part is the price they came up with was right at the price I was going to offer. That, and the trade-in was what I was hoping for. With all the incentives and rebates, I actually got the car for about $800 lower than I was anticipating. Also, with the new vs. used... We went new because used cars really aren't that much cheaper right now than new. Plus, new had some extra safety features that some of the used didn't have. We wanted a Toyota, and used Toyotas are hard to find.
  7. Where do you go to find the invoice price (with options included)? I have found many websites, but I seem to get different answers. The other issue I have been having is finding out exactly what options are included with some of the cars I have been researching. I have not gone to the lots, but most dealers have their inventory online. I think they purposely hide some details just to get you into the dealer.
  8. I have only owned two cars in my life, and have bought both from my parents. My wife and I are seriously considering buying a new car. Mine is in the shop every 2 months with at least $500 in repairs, and we want to get something different for when we decide to have kids. I have a couple different cars in mind, but want to know what kind of prices I can start with. When negotiating, how low can you go on an initial offer? Say the MSRP is $20,000. I know I'm not going to pay that much, but how low would a solid initial offer be? $18K? I know I should offer at least the invoice price, but I have no idea what that would be (unless that is disclosed by the salesman). What car negotiating tips do you all have?
  9. Guillermo Mota just came in to the game for the Giants. I don't know how that makes me feel.
  10. I read that the lowest pressure ever recorded in the US (outside of tropical storms) was recorded today. The pressure was that of a category 3 hurricane.
  11. The difference is the Bobcats were an expansion team, the Brewers moved from Seattle.
  12. Personally don't see why Charlotte got a team so quickly after the Hornets moved away. If a city has a team move, why should it be rewarded a team so quickly thereafter? I wouldn't mind seeing the Bobcats fold. I also wonder if the Clippers are a viable team to keep in the league. LA and NY are the only two cities with two teams, and the Clippers have never been relevant. I also see Memphis, Sacramento, or Minnesota as possible candidates to be contracted.
  13. The revistitation of the transmission thread inspired this bug... I bought my car from my dad just over 2 years ago. It's a 2002 Ford Taurus. I got it with just over 100K on it, and I'm up to 132K. In the time I've had it, I have done the following repairs... Water pump Starter Coolant tank Front struts Front springs Rear springs Rear wheel bearings Rear brakes Washer fluid line Now it needs new front inner tie rods, and I still have something messed up with my brakes. I also have a transmission issue where it won't downshift when I accelerate quickly at high speeds (when I'm on the freeway going up hill or passing). I have put more into the car than I paid for it, and that makes me upset. I want a new car, but I have dumped so much into this one that I don't feel like I can afford a new one.
  14. It should not take over 5 minutes to purchase a single iPod, yet that's what it took the guy in front of me at Best Buy tonight.
  15. Wow. That's why I make sure the coals are emptied and the grill is completely cooled off before I go in to the game. Grills cool off pretty quickly after you dump the coals out. Part of me wonders if that is Photoshopped...
  16. Both New York teams-- I would hate every minute of my life being scrutinized by the media. Pittsburgh--they would probably trade me for prospects anyways Tampa--No fan support, and an owner who is not in it for the long-haul Florida--No fan support, hate humidity in the summer
  17. Had a nice destruction of Alabama-Huntsville tonight, 7-0. Scored 4 power play goals. We looked pretty good, but then again it was a pretty bad team we went up against.
  18. My list begins and ends with the "Big Lebowski"
  19. Yeah, mine is definitely not under warranty any more. I don't think it's strictly a battery issue. It's been doing this off and on basically since I got it. I'd rather not take it in anywhere to see if it can get fixed, and I really don't want to contact Dell. They charge you just for making a call if you are not under warranty. I may try a new charger, just to see if that is the problem.
  20. I have a Dell laptop that is 3 years old. About 6 months after I got it, I started receiving an error message when I booted up the computer (before Windows loaded) that said, "AC power adapter type cannot be determined. This will affect system performance. Press any key to continue." It would do this off and on. There would be times I didn't get the error, other times I did...there was no rhyme or reason. Yesterday, the problem became worse. Not only does it do it right away when I turn the computer on, but I get an error message when Windows loads. The Windows error says power adapter cannot be determined, my system will run slower, and the battery will not charge. So now my battery is not charging. Has anyone else experienced something similar? My computer runs fine when it's plugged in, but I would like my battery to charge. The internet boards are not terribly helpful. Some say to get a new adapter, some say it could be a motherboard issue. I have seen very few solutions. Thanks for anyone's help.
  21. 151, and there were some that I couldn't BELIEVE I missed.
  22. Victor Santos? Other that Suppan, he's the only other former Brewer/Pirate starter I could think of that hasn't been listed. Edit: Yeah, I was throwing darts blindfolded...not even close. I'm so far off, it's laughable. I am ashamed. I didn't even remember the person who is the answer pitching for the Brewers.
  23. Barry Alvarez indicated that a Big 10 hockey conference was likely to happen. They were going to explore what it would take to get out of the WCHA, and they were targeting 2015-16 I think.
  24. I made a similar comment to my wife when I saw her on Community. I am sort of tired of seeing her everywhere. I laughed when Creed made his comments.
  25. I tried Limburger cheese for the first time today. I tried a young and an aged. I was very surprised by how mild it is. The flavor isn't as pungent as the aroma. I'm not going to go out and buy some next time I go down to Monroe, but it wasn't bad.
