  1. You do know that Urias can play 2nd right?
  2. Up to 16 million for a 38 year old Turner is pretty steep. It likely would have been our "one major" move of the offseason. With all of that said, I wouldn't have hated it.
  3. I have had a rental unit listed for rent for about 2 weeks. I have had a TON of interest and have showed it a lot. I have also received a lot of completed applications. Not one single completed credit report. I even called to make sure the credit report website I use was not having issues. Nope, they are not. Yes, I have on the ad that I do credit checks. Are people with crappy credit hoping that landlords won't check? Why waste everyone's time? My unit is on the more expensive side in a very nice part of town too. This is annoying.
  4. Less than 4k in followers has me skeptical. However, after Arnold's last trade, I have high expectations. MIL: Pasquantino, 2 relievers KC: Small Get it done Matt.
  5. You should have taken the t-shirt instead ;)
  6. I think the vast majority of people wanting a new third baseman has the idea of moving Urias to 2nd base....
  7. Now we are officially dead last in offseason spending
  8. I know many people think he will be gone but Keston Hiura is still on the roster. Until he isn't, you have to assume he will be on the team. (Yes I am aware he did not hit LHP well last year but his whole stat line was odd)
  9. Prove it deals, to me, were always meant to be advantageous to the teams that sign them. Having a 7 million dollar player option for year 2 is really only good for Omar.
  10. Yeah 3 million for Omar in this market is just not realistic at all.
  11. I don't really consider a prove it deal if you have a player option in year 2 for significant money. Still happy to see Omar get paid, he seemed like a good guy.
  12. Ha, was just going to quote you and mention this. I was hoping it would go to 4.25% but they do need to make a few bucks too I guess.
  13. The odds of Mitchell, Frelick, Wiemer, and Chourio all being worthy starters is very low. I would be thrilled if 3 of them pan out.
  14. And just like that, the positivity of the offseason is over.
  15. Me wanting someone different has nothing to do with not believing in Urias. It is more to be a hedge against all of the rookies we will have playing significant roles. If we get someone like Turner/Drury, that helps hedge 3rd base, 2nd base, 1st base and DH. Contending teams very rarely have 2-3 rookies being every day players.
  16. I would have to assume JD will DH for them. He is below average defensively.
  17. Can not blame Jace one bit. Good luck to him in Oakland.
  18. Here is what I would do. 1. Sign Justin Turner 2 years, 24 million. 2nd year is a mutual option with 3 million dollar buyout. (first year, 10 million, 2nd year 14 million) If he tries to play us like he might have done last time, move on to Drury. 2. Sign Cueto for one year 8 million dollars. Honestly, I could be way off here but he wasn't listed as one of the top 50 free agents so I can't imagine he will get a huge deal. The rotation was not as good as we were hoping last year and it would be good to have a veteran. 3. Sign Seth Lugo for 1 year, 4 million dollars. He would take over the Boxberger role. Rotation Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Cueto, Lauer, Ashby Bullpen Williams, Lugo, Houser, Bush, Guerra, Milner, Varland Lineup Yelich, Adames, Winker, Turner, Tellez, Contreras, Urias, Mitchell, Frelick Bench Caratini, Hiura, Brosseau, Taylor
  19. I like Justin Turner but at 38, I would want him for a 1+1 deal. Maybe something like 2 years, 26 million with a mutual option for year 2 with a 3 million dollar buyout. My worry with Turner is that his home run power dropped dramatically last season. I think Drury might be a decent plan B however. He is younger and has been good the last 2 seasons. I am not a huge fan of his defense but we should be strong pretty much everywhere but 1st base. MLB Trade Rumors has him at 2 years and 18 million which doesn't seem terrible with all of the signings that have taken place.
  20. Old Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .597 Old Starting DH OPS (2022): .700 New Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .860 New Starting DH OPS: .688 So far so good overall and we got a lot younger. I am looking forward to better defense from our rookies. Hopefully between Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, Taylor and Turang we can get some production.
  21. Earnest Spivey should have trademarked that.
  22. As of now, I think the team is better than last year. Let's try and upgrade at 3rd, get one more "A" bullpen guy and some more rotation depth and I will be happy.
  23. I don't think it would have been too terrible if those two were traded for Ruiz. Ruiz HAS to be graded differently by us and the A's
  24. RIP to me using Ruiz as a throw in for trade ideas. Almost makes me think there is something wrong with Contreras? Even if he stinks, you can't get mad at this trade because it was too good to pass up on.
  25. Used car prices are falling like a rock
