  1. It all depends on price for me. Although competing against the Rays and Marlins probably means it won't be too much.
  2. Nope. Each move we make I read posts like we are done for the offseason. I don't get it.
  3. Sign him. Fix him. Trade him.
  4. The prices always go down as the offseason moves along (for these kind of players). Guys as good if not better than Roark will sign for a lot less.
  5. Josh Hader pitched 75 innings last season and most people think he was overworked. Lots of those innings were high leverage but it is still 75 innings. Yes 4 years of control is good but he will start getting expensive soon.
  6. Please explain. Honestly I would ask for more. These are deals that I would accept as fair given the actual (non-sabermetric) value of elite closers. I think it's easiest to say we have a wildly different evaluation on Hader.
  7. Propose your own trade(s) then. Mets SP Noah Syndergaard OF Brandon Nimmo 3B Brett Baty (min) Yankees SP Luis Severino C Anthony Seigler (min) Dodgers SP Julio Urias SP Dustin May
  8. Propose your own trade(s) then.
  9. This signing doesn't stop us from doing anything else. Not sure how someone could be upset by it. I guess I could see underwhelmed?
  10. Maybe I am convincing myself a little bit here but some of these guys wouldn't be too bad. I would take Teheran and Wood btw. Then spend the money on the offense.
  11. 2nd place in free agent bidding again, dangit.
  12. You know its been discussed!
  13. I looked up one Keston Hiura scouting report on his defense. Hiura’s work at second base has been described as “unspectacular” and he’s considered an average defender at the position. His decent actions and footwork help make up for a below-average arm, but he’ll be exposed on longer throws from deep in the hole. If he can’t stick at second, his arm strength limits him to either left field or first base as backup options. Sounds like a third baseman to me.
  14. What do you even mean? Hiura, the guy who is currently our starting 2B? Yes, the guy that has a borderline arm to play 2nd base.........
  15. Would the pitcher be the relay thrower with Hiura at 3rd? I can't believe this is being seriously discussed by posters that should know better.
  16. Now giving up that draft pick is worth it again.... right Twirlz?
  17. I still wouldn't mind seeing him take a game or two off every so often.
  18. This is going to be a long off season if we are upset about not giving Jordan Lyles 8 million a year.

  20. No need to use Hader to fill these holes, IMHO. For 3B opening, maybe trade from the farm to land JD Davis from the Mets. (or pay less and take on Jed Lowrie's contract for them). Re-Sign Thames, Shaw or similar FA for 1st Base opening. Sign Bumgarner or Ryu or Teheran for the Rotation and possibly a Lyles/Gausman/Walker/Miley type starter as well. Put Freddy in the rotation and leave him there to flourish. Keep Hader The Dominator. Dominate. JD Davis is horrible defensively.
  21. Is Narvaez PROVED enough though? Asking for someone else. I think we will see lots of Pina and Arcia late game defensive subs this year.
  22. I must post in every thread!
  23. It's December 2nd.
