  1. Why not sign Bonds for the American league games?
  2. I know what you mean, the worst part is that it is a lot of people overreacting at once. I really wish there would not be a new thread with people freaking out after we lose.
  3. At least a lot of the bandwagoners will get off this site and stop annoying me.... for now.
  4. I think this is the key. I can't take much more of Yost, but Sveum is driving me nuts, too. The hitting has been curious this year as well, so maybe Skaalen needs a boot. Seems like they're overthinking every single at-bat. I didn't see the whole game...did Yost argue any of those missed calls? And by argue, I mean actually argue? He's been wussing out pretty badly this year so far. The one thing that I liked about him when I actually liked him was the fact that he defended his players on the field. Apparently he's more worried about defending them to the media now. Honestly does it even matter? Tell me one time when they change a strike call because the manager comes out?
  5. I have confidence in Bush because he is not awful when you look at the league as a whole. My opinion is that we wouldn't have to have as strong of a bullpen because hopefully Sheets and Gallardo are going deep into games.
  6. Most pitchers miss some starts each year. It is easy to forget the freak injuries Ben has had and say that his ear infection is the same as a shoulder injury. Everyone fails to mention what we are going to do without him? Free agent pitching will get you average starters for big money usually (at least the trend lately). I guess I would rather have Ben, Yo, Villy, Parra and Bush (trade Soup). Right now, Ben is our only innings eater, meaning he has the potential to get 8 or 9 innings if need be. Our bullpen is gonna be in a huge amount of hurt unless we get pitchers like that.
  7. Depends on wich ability you are talking about. The one that finds his way yearly to the DL and hurt the team by not eating up the innings he is paid for or the one that could be an all star year in and year out. I would much rather have Sheets and put up with the few starts a year he could potentially miss than have a couple of draft picks. I would MUCH rather use the money we will have on Ben and save our trade pieces. My plan would be to let Gagne walk, try to trade Soup and sign Ben to a 4 year contract. What do we do if Ben leaves? Are there really going to be free agent pitchers that will come here and be as good for not the same money?
  8. I think Melvin was just going to use the money that we are going to save from Cameron and Gagne and use that difference to give to Sheets. Some people are definately underestimating how difficult it is to get a pitcher of Ben's ability.
  9. I think with the emergence of some very good minor league hitters that signing Sheets is more important than ever. I would rather give Sheets the money and let a hitter or two go than try to acquire FA pitchers or trade for them. We see how depleted our depth is now without Gallardo, it won't get much better if Sheets leaves next year.
  10. Excellent point doa, we have faced some of the best pitchers in the NL over the first part of the season. I suggest we wait a little longer while they boost their stats on the bums.
  11. Sending Prince with two outs and Craig "the Wonda" Counsell on deck was certainly the correct move. Prince was out by a decent amount but Fukudome's throw was absolutely perfect. I would take the risk of him making that perfect throw rather than the 2.5/10 chance Craig gets a hit.
  12. I have found the best strategy is to put guys directly next to a girl. NEVER have an all girl side of anything because they are almost always slower than a guy. For example, do not have them play 3rd and SS or 2nd and 1st. I would suggest putting them in the corners in the outfield so the guys can cover for them. This strategy has worked well for the team that stoutdude04 and I played on.
  13. A lot of the seniors at my school are also going to the game. I am not too happy because I had a test planned for them! But it will be ok and I won't punish them if the Brewers win.
  14. To the poster who said what do we do if Hart or Braun get hurt, would it be possible that they would bring up LaPorta?
  15. I think this goes to show they have a lot of confidence in Hernan.
  16. Strokin by Clarence Carter
  17. Avoid Nokias at all costs, i HATE mine.
  18. Student teaching in Marketing and Business, from Stout.
  19. As a few of you may know, I am currently student teaching at Oregon High School in the Marketing department. Well, we are having the Packers come play basketball as a fund raiser and also a project in one of the classes I am teaching. (Sports and Entertainment Marketing) I was wondering if anyone had any contacts in terms of businesses that would be willing to sponsor or even celebrities that would be willing to play on our "local" team. I am trying to make this a huge success so I can point to later when I am applying for jobs. Thanks in advance!
  20. I would have to believe that the plan would be to put Hart in center next year and LaPorta in left. Now that would be the best outfield in baseball.
  21. Lord of the Rings- worst use of my time ever
  22. How do you know they want to be an angry band? I have a feeling you do not listen to much of their music because most of it is not like that ONE song. I think the main issue is people do not like these bands because they are popular and on the radio everytime. Sometimes their songs get played just because who they are and not necessarily on how good they are.
  23. I think you just don't like that type of music because their songs are not similar. I would agree Nickelback is guilty of playing similar songs to a degree but not on the other two you mentioned.
  24. I would offer up Parra, TGJ, Escobar and Bush to make it happen. Looking at their needs, that would not be an awful trade for them.
