  1. Will we ever win a game? /s
  2. Boeve above Dorchies should be a misdemeanor crime.
  3. Maybe the team told him they are shopping him, that's about the only thing that makes sense
  4. Badoo signing- C. Not a lot of risk and we seem to do okay with these overall. Zerpa trade- B. The team must have thought Collins was a fluke. I would definitely take Zerpa over Mears and you gain a year of control. Woody QO- A. I think you should take the risk of the QO aggressively. Woody will be the "vet" of the rotation and will hopefully have a healthy season. Peralta trade- A. You get two guys that are as high as top 50 prospects for one year of Freddy and Myers that you picked up off the scrap heap? I also like that the players are at positions of need and will be contributing soon. Durbin trade- A- The pitchers will help us this season and I think Hamilton will surprise. I would have prefered to trade Durbin next year but this was too good to pass up on. Regnifo signing- B-. He will be a decent stopgap and will hopefully be more 23/24 than 25 in performance. I would have prefered Urias but the team is betting on the younger player. Sanchez signing- A- The backup catcher gets little playing time on the team because of Contreras. We signed Gary for not much more over the minimum and he will likely provide decent production. -------------------------------- Overall grade: B+. Going in to the offseason, I had two priorities at the top. Trade Freddy for a haul and get starting pitching depth. The front office accomplished both of those goals. Nitpicking a couple of things.... I wanted them to trade Megill for prospects. I get the argument to hang onto him this season but I think he is a major regression candidate. I also think the team should have been more aggressive adding a guy like Marte or Abrams. Now it is impossible to know if a reasonable deal could be had but I would not have an issue cashing in on a few of our prospects for a good player with control.
  5. Everyone is excited here and we won't make it one game without the IGT hating on everything he does
  6. There's been so much change, probably time to do another prospect ranking eh Brock?
  7. What free agents would have you wanted with the Woodruff "savings"? I think all of this pitching depth is going to be huge for us this year. I would not have been happy with the alternative offseaon or whatever you want to call it.
  8. Freddy is an all-star, Durbin is much closer to just a guy
  9. It's amazing to me that people are much more up in arms over trading Durbin vs Freddy.
  10. I think his style of pitching leaves a little room for error and I am dubious with his last injury and age.
  11. Is that the highest Lara has been on any list?
  12. I have been wanting to trade Megill all offseason. I don't know if he can hack it at 3rd base but I would make that trade if offered.
  13. I'm not saying he's a bad player and an outfielder is a good idea for a target. If I am giving up a major package, I would like the guy to play defense too.
  14. A position player plays offense and defense so I don't know what point you mean by just pointing out offense. Should I post Vaughn's Savant as proof he is nearly as valuable?
  15. Turang is better, Contreras is better and I would take Chourio over him for sure.
  16. Wood is looking like a soon to be DH. The fact that he is so young and his defense is bad is a red flag to me.
  17. No thank you on that package.
  18. I disagree that these are future moves. Compare the roster from OD last year to this year. The guys they acquired could all be up this year and helping the team.
  19. I think they keep Zas on the OD roster because you won't need to shuttle anyone for a while and there is bound to be an injury within the first couple of months
  20. The problem is you likely aren't going to option the top 4 (Koenig, Hall, Zerpa and Ashby) and you lose Zas if you cut him. I also think they are going to really use openers against teams with left handed hitters at the top of their lineup.
  21. Most of the bullpen is likely set but maybe you have a different opinion. Lots of lefties but this group is strong. Leverage Megill Uribe Ashby Koenig Non Leverage Hall Zerpa Anderson Zas
  22. I always think the batting order doesn't mean a ton but it is something worth talking about I guess. 1. Frelick (RF) 2. Chourio (LF) 3. Yelich (DH) 4. Contreras (C) 5. Turang (2B) 6. Vaughn (1B) 7. Mitchell (CF) 8. Rengifo (3B) 9. Ortiz (SS) Bench: Perkins, Sanchez, Hamilton, Bauers If I were in charge, I would start Hamilton at 3rd and SS much more than what will probably happen. (never against LHP)
  23. Crime 101 was decent. I was hoping the ending would be better
