    I think it could be as simple as we have much less options to play 3B at the moment vs 2B.

    I'd be fine bringing back Lauer on a minor league deal but that's about it.

    Could easily be wrong but I am hoping he is like Haase in that if you can't find a better alternative, you have him as a "break glass in case of emergency" guy.

    I thought we would be done after the Sanchez signing. However, the last two signings (Rosario and Urshela) make me think the team will sign another guy at a low cost. I have shifted my hopes from Soler to Belt. I do not want to see a lot of Bauers this year if it can be helped.

    If you are going to experiment with this, you do it right away. Spring Training is very long.

    Also, Haase is no big deal. He is a candidate to be moved in Spring Training if a team has a need for a cheap backup.

    Hard to be upset with this contract. That wrist injury must have been pretty concerning.

    That is a huge buyout in 2026, I hope he is decent in 2025 to make this worth it.

    Yes exactly. I would prefer Yelich to get more complete days off to make sure he is fresh throughout the season.

    Welcome to the taxi squad JB! I think this is a big deal because JB looked pretty darn good in his limited time in Milwaukee.

    I have the offense as being better in 2024. The pitching (especially starting pitching) as being worse. The defense should be similar to 2023 even though we do not know who the 4th starting infielder will be yet. The team should be more balanced which at the very worst should make them more fun to watch. A guy like Belt to be the RHP masher at DH and backup 1st baseman (no idea who our backup is right now) would be a nice addition.

    I'm not sure much could or should be done. It is hard to know what deals have been offered to some of these guys and how much longer they will want to wait. The only way I could see this changing is if someone high profile gets hurt while trying to squeeze every penny and contract offers disappear.

    I see the Reds as the favorite right now and the Brewers and Cardinals fighting out for second place. The free agents available could change things however.

    I would guess he will be the "emergency" infielder similar to an emergency catcher. That could come in handy if you decide to keep an extra outfielder vs an infielder.
