  1. Jimenez has a better reputation than production. If his name were something like Jake Berger and he put up similar numbers, people wouldn't expect as much for him. With that said, he fits what we need being a DH. I like like that he would not be a rental as well.
  2. This is a pretty good trade for the White Sox as Jimenez doesn't have a ton of trade value. I do not want to trade future closer Uribe so I would say no to this one. Hiura has no trade value but if they want him, sure. Brewers: Jimenez White Sox: EBJ and Lauer They can try and get Lauer back to being a good pitcher and EBJ is a good prospect. Going off of the Trade Values website, this is an overpay for the Brewers but we may see some interesting things in a major sellers market.
  3. What minor and major leaguers are you willing to give up at the deadline? (that have some value) Major Leaguers (yes I know they are in AAA right now but have significant MLB service time)- Urias and Lauer Minor Leaguers- EBJ, Adams, Mendez, Small, Moore, Zamora This is my list. Whether we can get any significant pieces from these guys is to be seen with it looking like a major sellers market. My teams to target are the Rockies and White Sox. If the Cardinals would work with us, they would be on that list too.
  4. You must have one heck of a delay...
  5. Probably shouldn't play off of third against SF...
  6. This team still needs a couple of bats. You can't expect the bullpen to be perfect all of the time.
  7. I get the reasoning but our "A" guys have been pitching a lot including last night. JT being under 80 pitches and not having much trouble.
  8. I don't know, I'd probably let JT start the 7th with Milner there for support.
  9. You see how the ball comes off his bat when he goes oppo and it is ridiculous for a 19 year old.
  10. In the Trade Rumors Forum, yes...
  11. This should be posted anytime people talk about trading him.
  12. KL has Quero #11 on his top 100 now. The kid is flying up like Chourio did last year.
  13. Love the strategy and work done by the scouting department. Even if this draft falls flat on it's face, they have done their jobs adding talent.
  14. The Rockies (and White Sox) are definitely teams we should be calling at the deadline. McMahon would fit our needs, defense mostly first philosophy and his contract is favorable. I have no idea why the Trade Values site lists him as a negative value and I certainly do not. We could also take on Grichuk if we want someone that is mainly a lefty mashing DH and the Rockies want to dump some salary. He isn't ideal for us because of his home/away splits and his poor defense but we have a major need for guys that can reliably hit a baseball. The Brewers are in an interesting spot having 2 guys that are young and have had Major League success but are struggling this year. It would not shock me to see the team move Lauer and/or Urias if a team thinks they can "fix" them. I think Urias would be a great fit for the Rockies personally. Here is my Trade Proposal: Brewers: McMahon and Grichuk Rockies: Urias, Small and Mendez My New lineup Yelich (LF) Contreras (C) McMahon (3B) Adames (SS) Tellez (1B) Grichuk/Hiura (DH) Anderson/Perkins (RF) Miller/Turang (2B) Wiemer (CF) End of games put Turang in at 2B and Miller at 1B for defense. DFA Winker and Tapia, send down Jones.
  15. Remember when the common theme was that the bullpen was going to be bad? Ooops.
  16. Yes let's anger our current allstar closer to bring back our former allstar closer that's a clear rental. Tell him "it's a part of life", I am sure professional athletes that haven't secured the bag yet would love to hear that. When is another time a clear dominant (with a dominant track record) closer was moved to the 8th inning for another pitcher from a trade at the deadline? I do agree that this likely wouldn't happen. I am okay moving a few prospects for this season but would not mortgage our future when I feel we are at least a few guys away.
  17. Williams would have to hate money to be okay with moving back to an 8th inning role. I'd have to imagine his agent would be furious.
  18. I have read some of the most bizarre posts on this website the last few weeks. Is there something in the Bfan water?
  19. Ohtani would be amazing but he wouldn't make us World Series favorites. We need guys that are above average players to complement our good rotation and awesome bullpen.
  20. To be fair, Elly is a super exciting player. We would be very happy to have him on our team.
  21. I'd still trade for him by the deadline (assuming he isn't out for months). Part of the reason he possibly could be "cheap" is he gets hurt often. I would never play him in the field to try and keep him hitting. (and he sucks defensively)
  22. A guy we should be looking at is Eloy Jimenez. He is a hack in the field but would be an upgrade at DH and has a reasonable contract. According to the MLB trade values site, he has negative value (because his defense sucks) but I don't agree with that. I would give up a guy in our 10-15 or if they want a project like Lauer that would work too. I think we need 2-3 hitters but am prepared for us to only pick up one.
  23. The Angels owner won't trade him to the Dodgers unless Ohtani demands it. I feel like Ohtani will have a say in where he goes.
