  1. Denver is the logical landing spot for him for about 15 different reasons. Most notably, Hackett and their close-ishness to competitiveness and the package they could offer built around the 9th overall pick and young players like Jeudy.
  2. When was the last time the Lions held the last pick in the first round?
  3. Yeah, there was zero chance they could have known it, but that contract became problematic just six weeks after it was signed. Terrible circumstances for all sides.
  4. Anyway, sorry for the mini-derail. I do agree with the overall point that Brady's retirement might weight at least some on Rodgers' decision to retire, if that's really a decision he's considering. I think that the two phone calls the Packers may already have made today were to the agents for Jaire and Bakh regarding an extension and restructure respectively, as those seem like the two biggest no-brainer moves of the next couple of weeks.
  5. He also allegedly raped two women, which though the NFL likely wants us all to forget, some voters won't.
  6. I think there's a greater than zero chance that Roethlisberger's not a first-ballot guy.
  7. There's a financial benefit to waiting until after June 1, but beyond that there's zero reason why they wouldn't want 2022 draft picks. Unless you're wanting 22 to be a 'tank' year, which I suppose is possible though unlikely. Beyond that dates are fluid prior to the start of the league year. Rodgers has said he'll make his choice known prior to the end of the March 8th tag deadline, so there's that. But, I'd expect all parties involved (Packers, acquiring team, Rodgers) would want that known as far in advance as possible.
  8. I think this is fair and accurate. Though I think you could make the same statement about the 2010 Packers in a lot of ways. They were the red-hot team at the end of the year, not necessarily the best.
  9. Agreed. At some point it really would be great if Rodgers would make the acknowledgment money-wise that his best way to help the team be competitive is that like Brady (and Favre in a lot of ways), the best thing he really can do to help is play under a salary that is 'beneath' his performance level, especially for 2022. His supposed demand to be highest-paid doesn't equate well to 'room to add talent'. He needs to get on board with that philosophy at some point.
  10. Should be the start of a very interesting off season for Green Bay this week. Wouldn’t be surprised if they start cap maneuvering almost immediately.
  11. Problem with that narrative is though, is that other than last year where they were basically a toss up/slightly favored because of the home game, they were heavy underdogs in the other three games. They essentially lost games they were supposed to lose.
  12. Oh yeah, that’s 100% what I meant. It’s devastating to make that choice and flop knowing you have a mess going forward. They got what they wanted and gambled successfully. No one will care if they stink for the next 3 years.
  13. That they did. I believe I called them out on it when it looked like that would be a franchise destroying choice after their loss to GB. Now they get to spend their draft day quietly starting at the Lombardi Trophy.
  14. They put their flags in the pocket then call THAT?
  15. Maybe Higgins? But I agree- it has become a QB award and neither deserve it tonight.
  16. Pretty bad actually. To each their own. I found it pretty entertaining, and apparently so did much of the internet.
  17. They tried that in 2019 and it was so terrible that they immediately discontinued it. I still think one of your challenges should be a super challenge that can challenge any call anywhere on the field but if you use it you have no more challenges for the game no matter what. I agree with this.
  18. They tried that in 2019 and it was so terrible that they immediately discontinued it.
  19. I don’t think the ref COULD see the facemask which he’d have had to call. But that looked like something should have been called regardless.
  20. Pretty good show. Not a big pop fan, so glad to have a show where I knew some of the songs from back in the day.
  21. The issue I have with this is that Patrick Willis was a HOF finalist this year largely based on the narrative, probably correctly, that he played at a high level for 7 seasons and injury robbed us of a full-length HOF career for him. Sharpe is literally the same story. 7 HOF caliber seasons, but that HOF-trajectory career cut short by injury. If he's simply able to have a typical 10-12 year career as most are able to, I have little doubt he's talked about in the same breath with Rice, Moss, and Cris Carter. Or at a MINIMUM Andre Reed and Art Monk.
  22. You can honestly make a compelling case for Holmgren using Cowher as benchmark too. I hadn’t really thought about it before looking yesterday, but Holmgren is probably HOF worthy considering the benchmark they’ve set for coaches from the 90s. With Kramer and Butler now in, I think Packer fans can now legit lobby for Holmgren and Sharpe next.
  23. So if Dick Vermeil is a HOF coach, Mike Holmgren is too, right?
  24. Starr also played on a team with what, 10 other hall of famers?
  25. Final MVP voting wasn’t close at all: Rodgers 39 Brady 10 Cupp 1 Wonder if Hub Arkush was the Cupp vote…..
