  1. The problem is that it really is Rodgers himself that is trying to spin all of this as something different. You can't continually say 'they're not doing enough to help me win' then at the same time demand to be the highest-paid QB, making you yourself one of the major reasons the Packers CAN'T make gigantic moves. He's trying to play both sides, as he has for two years now.
  2. He's definitely of value right now assuming MVS is gone as RRB noted. There's immense value even if he gets pushed to WR3/4 for him on a 1 year $3.whatever million deal considering the loony numbers being given to mediocre receivers yesterday.
  3. Silverstein certainly has strong feelings about it today:
  4. I think both sides of that are arguably correct. Rodgers went to the length of personally refuting the claim, when really the basic details of the contract weren't that far off. It's also fair to say that he did help their cap this year, which is really the most important part this week. Perhaps that's why he took issue initially- the thought that he was playing both sides. In the end, that's still kind of true, but he did help in 2022.
  5. That's 100% true. But it also means that every offseason for the next couple of years will be the Rodgers watch, which is pretty insufferable, just IMO.
  6. Have to agree. They've found a way to basically keep the core of the team together thus far. Knowing they'll supplement via the draft, I feel pretty good about the team especially if they can get Rasul back somehow and sign a Rick Wagner-type o-lineman for depth there.
  7. My goodness.... early reports are that if Rodgers retires after this season, the Packers must carry a $68m dead cap number for 2023.
  8. Sounds like effectively at 2-year extension (putting Rodgers in GB for the next three seasons, as RRB noted) with two dummy years on the back end. Cap number down to about $28m. Packers still over the cap, but can probably get the $$ they need with Cobb/Crosby cuts and a Jaire extension. If they can extend Adams quickly, they would hypothetically have room for a couple of FAs as well.
  9. This does appear accurate, as late reports indicate he was released with failed physical designation.
  10. Yep. I think there’s a good chance they’ve got one more significant acquisition coming.
  11. Seems like a good option at DH vs. LHP and to cover days off. Poor defender at this point, but he’s a legit bat vs. lefties. Still need another bat, but pending the money, this is pretty solid.
  12. Campbell apparently has a whopping $4.2 million cap number for 2022. Structure basically makes it a two year deal. Great stuff.
  13. Campbell resigned by the Pack, reports are 5/$50 million. Presumably comically backloaded….
  14. No blue check mark, that’s a troll account.
  15. Though this mornings news about the Smiths played out exactly as everyone expected, I'm a little surprised they let Turner go considering the relatively small cap savings they got from releasing him. He's been a pretty nice asset on the line overall in his time here.
  16. Z officially released as well.
  17. Billy Turner released. Will not be returning to Green Bay in 2022 on any kind of new deal, per Turner’s camp.
  18. Amari Cooper to the Browns for essentially a fifth. One of the bigger NFL trade weeks I can recall….
  19. Meh. Davis clearly looked like he was still feeling the ankle. In a lot of ways, they’ll benefit more from the 6-7 days off than playing another mostly meaningless game or two this weekend.
  20. Ok, but then couple that with the fact that they Bears didn’t try to offer a lesser deal, and we reach the same end point.
  21. At this point, yes. That doesn't make him comparable to Russell and Leaf. And again, while yes he's a flop at this point there's a reason he has a hot market for QB needy teams. Because he was a high draft pick, there’s no one else available, and a lot of teams are dumb?
  22. The QB-starved Bears declined the fifth year option on a guy they traded up to take 2nd overall, and was a backup last year. Saying that he is anything other than a major NFL flop at this point is a little perplexing.
  23. That's kind of the issue- one year removed picks are valued less for obvious reasons. Plus, adding Mack to the team hypothetically has a negative impact on the slot of the Chargers' picks since they're hypothetically better. I'm pretty shocked they didn't get a 2022 pick. EDIT: The tweet above is poorly worded- it appears the 2nd is indeed for 2022. In addition, this actually ACCELERATES 6 mil onto their cap, so they're not even saving money.
  24. And if that’s true, and it may be, that’s why most NFL teams struggle to find QBs. Continually cycling through overpaid ‘veteran’ guys who are proven failures or mediocrity while wondering why they can’t get their franchise turned around. The fact that Trubisky is the hottest FA QB is literal lunacy. Hey, maybe Sam Bradford deserves a 4th (or is it 5th?) shot.
  25. Colts have pick #47. Take it and run if you can get it. As alluded to by patrick, they apparently swapped 2nds with Washington as part of today's trade and now have #42. I'd take 42 and one of their thirds all day.
