  1. Per the JS, the Brewers are seriously considering bids from two broadcast groups- Journal Broadcast Group (WTMJ as flagship) and Clear Channel (WISN as flagship) to have the rights to the Brewers broadcasts starting in 2009. It'd be very interesting if they should return to WISN after their stint in the early-80's, as Uecker is a Brewer employee, while Jim Powell works for WTMJ, if I remember correctly. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=733193
  2. Ok, you're not a member over there at this point from what I can tell. If you click on one of the forums and go all the way to the bottom, there should be a 'New Topic' button (or just click add reply to an existing one), and you should be prompted to apply for approval.
  3. He can certainly be given some credit for some of our success, but the best players were aquired before he was on board. Ryan Braun was acquired on his watch, and he's probably the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team.
  4. Thanks for the clarification, brettac. Looks like the other children have been removed from the home: http://www.channel3000.com/news/15735268/detail.html
  5. Honestly, I thought the officials were ticky-tack, but it was questionable both ways. Lots of calls against the Badgers, but they included some poor choices by the Badger players and fouls that were well deserved.
  6. In retrospect, we probably wanted to play Georgetown. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Have we missed this many free throws this year combined?
  8. I don't think I can take any more of this blatant cheerleading and gushing. That I can certainly agree with. But at this point, I hope they win the whole thing. (Barring an astounding, miracle comeback, of course)
  9. Well, J-Bo and Flowers need to start raining threes to even get this to a point where they have a chance.
  10. Curry can't miss, Badgers can't make FT's or short baskets. Yep.
  11. Thanks for missing those FT's, Butch. Gah. Don't give up at least.
  12. Apparently good things happen when you go to the hoop, Badgers.
  13. They're really playing like crap right now.
  14. If Davidson would actually miss a freaking shot or two, that would be great.
  15. I really can't believe they have not removed the other children at this point. In a report on the radio, I heard that it was one of the other children that alerted the authorities from California, so if that's true, I'm guessing the other children are college aged or older.
  16. Wow the Tennessee v Louisville game might have been the most exciting game of the tournament. What a high energy dunk fest. Exciting sure. It was also the most poorly played basketball game that I've seen this year.
  17. I doubt the team told him to do anything of the sort, as if he was healthy, they could cut him and recoup 75% of his salary like they did with Vargas.
  18. I'm hearing (and this could very well be wrong of course) that this rebate is simply an advance on next year's tax return I'm nearly certain that isn't the case. It will simply be additional income in 08, I believe.
  19. I'd give Prince about a 10% chance of doing the deal if we offer him the same contract as Miggy Cabrera. It'd also really help the Brewers in the eyes of both Prince and the public- if the Brewers legitimately put a Carbrera-esque deal out there that Prince declined, if an issue about money comes up like a few weeks ago, the public opinion and those around Baseball will be genuinely disinterested, as he'd have passed up tens of millions of dollars because of his agent. And I'd think that if Boras tells him to pass on 100-ish million guaranteed four years before he's even eligible for that type of payday, you'd think that any player would seriously start to question how the agent is actually helping you at that point.
  20. I am looking for 1 or 2 bats for the Carlos Lee SGA bobble. If anyone has a bat from a broken bobble or extras that they don't need, please send me a PM. Thanks!
  21. Rottino is not a more talented backstop than Salome. And I think that's exactly the point- is he calling Rottino the best because he's closest, or is he calling him the best because the organization is upset/disappointed/concerned/pissed about Salome's PED suspension or raising questions about the severity of the issue?
  22. Just out of curiousity has anyone ever heard of a pitcher having TJ surgery twice? (on the same elbow) Hasn't Gagne had TJ twice?
  23. Don't Major League teams take out insurance on their players? I remember hearing that Ben Sheets has an insurance policy on his contract. Did we have one on Cappy's too? Cappy's really working off a tender, and not a long-term, negotiated contract like Sheets, so I doubt it. And even in Sheets' case, the things that have to happen for the insurance to kick in are pretty goofy, IIRC.
  24. 2- Guldens' spicy brown, and a honey mustard I got in a Christmas gift basket and will never use the remaining 1/3 of.
