  1. Nice that we'll get pretty much what expected out of Cordero and/or Linebrink. Graffy as a B, but I'll be shocked to see us offer him arby, barring some team nabbing him up early.

  3. Actually a pretty solid deal for something that is probably made up. Way too complicated to actually happen, though.
  4. I approved you last night, you should be good to go.
  5. And here I thought this thread was going to bring all new meaning to the 'issues' forum.
  6. This thread has just about run it's course of productivity. The condescension all around is not cool.
  7. Sure there are, the ESPN boards, NHL boards, other independent message boards. I meant here.
  8. Also, why is it ok to talk Badger Hockey and Badger Basketball here, but not football? Because there's not another designated place to discuss hockey or basketball?

  10. As a reminder, Silver Lining Thread. Not to be confused with Vent Thread.
  11. Im to mad right now to type a full answer but I have to say this team has done nothing to show improvement at all They were 75-87 last year. They've already improved by 6 games with 2 to play if nothing else.
  12. There are already threads dedicated to Yost and also to venting. Let's not make this thread an additional one.
  13. They found out what they need to do to win- not just via the 'being in a pennant race' stuff that has some merit, but also: That they can't piece together a bullpen that relies heavily on the likes of Chris Spurling, Greg Aquino, Elmer Dessens, etc and expect to be successful, and this needs to be fixed this offseason. That Ryan Braun has a legitimately awesome bat, but his defense simply has to improve for the team to work. That Derrick Turnbow can't be a significant part of the back end of our bullpen, and that Matt Wise might not be either. That Ned Yost might not be the guy to get us where we need to go. That while talent is there at a lot of positions, that there are still upgrades that can and need to be made. That Prince Fielder is a legitimate stud and will have had an MVP season shortly. And Ryan Braun will be ROTY soon as well. And Rickie Weeks IS who we thought he would be, as long as his wrist is ok. That the fans ARE excited about the future of this team and WILL come out to support them in record numbers. That Mark A WILL do what it takes to win during a season by adding payroll. That if we win one of our last two games, that this team finally has a winning season after 15 very, very long years. So in all, I'd say exciting, meaningful baseball for 99% of the season including a long run in first, plus an MVP and ROTY, plus valuable experience for a young team, plus finding out and (hopefully) learning from your problems/weaknesses should make this team a WS contender next year without a doubt. So, if you can't see positives or this season as a success in some way, you're not really trying.
  14. They would have to spin it pretty significantly to make it seem that way. But, there is some value to what we have accomplished this year regardless. And if 81-81 gets Ned fired, a lot of people here would consider that a successful finish. But this is the vent thread, so I digress.
  15. If this team somehow finishes 83-79, it was a successful year. Incredibly disappointing yes, but still successful, no spin needed.
  16. This is clearly our faults. We should have stopped shaving, showering, and changing our socks at 24-10.
  17. If Dale is one of Ned's possible replacements or indicative of what we'd be looking at, I'm with Mark A's stance on Yost. I don't really have a problem with Sveum otherwise beyond this evening as a bench coach.
  18. Hopefully they're swept by the Marlins so that we'll control our own destiny by Friday anyway and we won't need the Reds to win.
  19. Gah... can we lend them Prince for a few of the games?
  20. Yeah, DougJones, that's a pretty disgusting thing for any supposedly true fan of a team to say.
  21. Would you like us to close this thread? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. They got so screwed today that I feel like I've been violated. This loss is not on Yost, and it's not really on the Brewers either. And this isn't a loss yet.
  23. I don't see the point in trading either Capuano or Hall while their value is low, which makes it very likely that both will be retained.
  24. If Miller retires/does not return, I hope they take a long look at Michael Barrett or Posada. Posada would be a pipe dream, so Barrett would be a much more likely target.
